This study focuses on the growth and development of small and medium industries of Korea, orienting to the development of up-to-date technology from now on and bolstering their competitive ability in the rapidly changing international markets. For this purpose, the small and medium industries should 1) develop high-level manpower of up-to-date technology, 2) make constant efforts to categorize and divide the fields of technology with big business groups to boost their competitiveness, 3) raise automation rate by turning all facilities into mechatronics, 4) positively develop software know-how, 5) jointly conduct researches in cooperation with venture capital and Governmental research institute, 6) categorize an systematize the industries. On the Governmental level, there should be 1) wide-ranging support and assistance in technology, finance, and the facilities, 2) positive opening of consumer market, 3) assistance in technical cooperation with other nations, 4) and such indirect assistance as fostering the fields of related technology.

Since its opening in 1992, Sudokwon Landfill has become a landfill in which wastes generated from more than 22 million people are treated and disposed of. Its first phase landfill was closed in 2000 and the second phase landfill is in operation since then. The Korean environmental policies on refuse have drastically evolved for the last decade or so. From merely safe containment of wastes, the utilization of them as a source for energy generation and the minimization of waste volume to be filled in landfills are in the mainstream. Keeping in pace with the new trends, several challenging projects are in their way to blossom in Sudokwon Landfill. This paper briefs some important activities in the landfill. They are (1) geotechnical issues related to the construction and maintenance of the $1^{st}$ and $2^{nd}$ Landfills and (2) landfill gas and bioreactor which are recently emerging in the market.

According to opening Seoul-Busan high speed rail line in 2004, we are studying to offer speedily for the parcel service of high speed rail-combined transport as it does, tender the quality freight services within a one and the same high speed train formation. Therefore, we reviewed for various types of HSR-combined transport and suggested to application methods in Korean high speed rail line. Through these kinds of approaches, we are able to expect the fulfillment of customer needs for high speed rail market segments, the profit maximization of future railway operating companies, and enhancement for cost-effective rail network operation of the mixed traffic on infrastructure cost-reduction in national logistics.

Recently, hospital architecture is in the transition period which faces a great change. Patients' demands on medical services have been changing and hospitals have been feeling the need to innovate their facilities in order to prepare for the upcoming challenges in the field such as global competition, market opening, etc. In addition, every hospitals requires the creative and novel design which is different from the conventional concept to deal with various circumstances. Accordingly, various space arrangements are proposed against the past unified hospital type. This study is designed to consider and evaluate the prospects of hospital architecture by analyzing the space allocation type of representative hospitals which are being recently constructed in Korea.

Since the 90's, Korean Air transport market has been more expanded because of economic growth, the construction of airport infrastructure, and the advent of low cost carrier. Especially, the air traffic demand in Busan metropolitan area has been increasing steadily. Therefore, in this paper, we developed a new forecasting model which could expect the future air traffic demand in Busan area. This model is developed by regression analysis using social-economic variables such as GRDP, income, and the number of people, and dummy variables, for instance, KTX opening, Japan economic depression, SARS and so on. Result from demand forecasting by this new model suggests that the new airport system is needed in order to sustain the increasing air traffic demand in Busan area.

Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) have already been commercialized for the mobile-phone display, TV, and lighting panels. Even though the OLED display for the mobile phones is now considered as the main stream display for the application, the OLED TV and lighting panels are having difficulty in their market due to their high prices despite the better performance to the competitors. In recent years, roll-to-roll production of the OLED has begun to be examined, and this method is opening a way to solve the high price problem. In this article, we introduce several important processes for roll-to-roll production of OLED and explain the development status to date.

In this study, the core competencies of 7-Eleven, Japan's representative convenience store, were derived through a qualitative analysis method using VRIO (value, rarity, Imitability, and organization) framework, a management strategy model based on Resource-Based View (RBV). As a result of VRIO analysis, the value can be based on the scale that 7-Eleven ranks first in the Japanese convenience store industry in terms of the number of stores and market share that it has developed based on capital. The rarity is based on the fact that raw material procurement, the main activity of a company, is establishing the nation's largest distribution channel in the entire process, from producers to logisticians and franchisees. The difficulty for Imitability is based on a dominant strategy and has secured a competitive advantage by opening stores in a specific area, improving awareness, and raising barriers to entry. As the largest company in the convenience store industry, it is confirmed that 7-Eleven is the result of organizational power that has built stores not only in Korea but also in 16 countries around the world.

Purpose - The purpose of this research is to test the impact of transformational leadership on subordinates' performance (job performance and creativity) in Chinese companies. In addition, it intends to verify the mediating effect of subordinates' organizational identification on the relationship between transformational leadership and employee performance. Research design, data, and methodology - To this end, a survey was conducted on the members of Chinese companies. Out of 400 returned responses to the final questionnaire, 349 were used for analysis after excluding invalid responses. Data were analyzed using SPSS 24 and AMOS 24. Result - The analysis results are as follows. First, transformational leadership has a direct effect on subordinates' job performance and creativity. Second, transformational leadership was found to increase subordinates' organizational identification. Third, the mediating effect of organizational identification was verified in the relationship between transformational leadership and performance (job performance and creativity). Conclusion -This study analyzed the effect of the transformational leadership on subordinate's job performance and creativity amid the deepening of China's market economy policies after economic opening. The study expands the related studies.

With overall opening of global construction market by World Trade Organization (WTO) agreements, importance of management efficiency of construction industry which considers both tangible and intangible assets is recently being recognized in our nation. That is, efforts for reinforcement of competitiveness must be placed through maximization of values of internal and external intangible assets of construction industry such as management innovation, information, investment in technology and R&D and intellectual property. Accordingly in this study, evaluation criteria for intangible assets of construction industry were investigated and classified. Using such criteria, evaluation index and model were established based on the degree of importance of each criterion. The purpose of this study is to review importance of intangible assets in terms of competitiveness and management efficiency of construction industry and to provide basic data for establishment of intangible assets and revitalization of investment.

Knowledge has been considered one of the important elements that determine our future. Competitive power of an enterprise has also been transformed from labor, capital, and technology-oriented to knowledge-oriented. Current construction environment is experiencing overall decrease of number of construction contracts due to opening of domestic construction market and economic slump, problems on methods of receiving orders/bidding, and change of costumers' attitude, which intensify competition, therefore many companies consider adopting knowledge management to secure their competitive power. However, there are difficulties in adopting knowledge management and increasing the use by establishing management plan, Performance Measurement, and knowledge maintenance system in reality. Therefore, this study is to provide assistance to successful realization of knowledge management by suggesting development plan of knowledge management that enables knowledge management more efficient with certain goals.
