In the preliminary antitumor screening tests of Crude Drugs and collected plants, the methanol ic extract of Forsythia Fruits in Korean marcket showed signif icant cytotoxic activity against Chinese hamster V-79 cells, but that in Japanese market did not. The former was identifid as Forsythia viridissima Lindley and latter as F.suspensa Vahl on the basis of the morphological observation. When an aqueous solution of the extract prepared from the fruits of F. viridissima (Oleaceae) was partitioned successively with n-hexane, methylene chloride, n-butanol, the cytoyoxic activitywas concetrated in the methylene chloride extract. Fractionation of the extract was made with the guidance of bioassay against V-79 cells to give cytotoxic lignans, matariresiol (1) and arctigenin (2). Their ICso values of compounds 1 and 2 were respectively $7.8{\;}\mu\textrm{g}/ml$ 1 and $1.65{\;}\mu\textrm{g}/ml$. Also, their structures were confirmed by comparison of physical and spectral data in the literature.

Viscosity and shear stress of the dental impression materials on commercial market(Imprint Garant LB(3M, U.S.A), EXAMIXFINE IT(GC, Japan), Vonflex S LB(Vericom, Korea), S-Silicone LB(Shinwon, Korea)) were measured with increasing shear rate from 50(1/sec) to 100(1/sec). The viscosity of EXAMIXFINE IT was decreased from 20,542(cP) to 14,684(cP), which is the shear thinning property of pseudoplastic as non-Newtonian fluid. Since the pseudoplastic property makes the impression material shear thinning and softly injected from cartridge, EXAMIXFINE IT might be popularly used in dentistry.

This paper presents an improved method of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) when customers are to select the best automobile purchase models. In order to support group decisions and as a different procedure of the conventional AHP, we combine the AHP model with a spreadsheet model that applies the Likert's rating scheme to each alternative. We only consider individual pairwise comparison matrices where the consistency ratio (C.R.) is less than or equal to 0.2. Finally, we regard the weight of each decision maker as a reciprocal number of C.R. As a case study we prioritize three passenger cars of medium size in the domestic market. The major evaluation criteria include:exterior or interior features, performance, safety, pricing, salesman, and after service.

Recently, as microcomputers and sensors have been miniaturized due to dropdown of their market rates, this lead to a favorable environment for implementing the Internet of Things. Smart clothing refers to a system which can be wearable or portable, and allows people to communicate or conduct sensing. Applying the Internet of things, the role of the server computer is to receive and process data obtained from the sensor. An ordinary PC can act as a server but during the implementation of IoT, a PC has limited application due to a large size and the inconvenient portability. This study proposes a model that allows a variety of functions while implementation with the server from the sensing using the Arduino and Raspberry Pi. If we apply this proposed model, everyone can easily and inexpensively experience mobile IoT system.

I compared trade structure and competitiveness by sector using industrial classification in UN Comtrade data and SITC. Based on the comparison, I calculated market share, export competitions, RCA, and TSI. and then selected sensitive industries based on competitiveness, and identified the ZOPA and our BATNA. These calculations confirmed the industries damaged by FTA and those benefiting from the FTA between Korea and Japan, the study them developed strategies for VIA negotiation. It is to minimize damages to Korean economy and to maximize benefits from the agreement. The negotiation plan allowed an adjustment period for industries, for which damages are expected, by setting a long grace period before implementing tariffs. Based on the negotiation plan made through economic analysis, I intend. contribute to more efficient promotion of negotiation by extracting the optimal FFA negotiation plan for each manufacturing industry.

In Korea, the consumption of renewable energy among primary energies has marked only 1.03%, composed of mostly hydro power facilities, as of 1998. This situation has been basically due to the market limit and high generation cost of renewable energies. Furthermore, the policies and strategies for promoting the renewable energy have been insufficient in comparison with that of the developed countries. This paper mainly focuses on the economic feasibility and sensitivity analysis for renewable energies.

Recently, increased demand of electrical energy caused additional installation of underground power cable, Industrialization of metro makes civil works difficult. So installed ducts became a key of underground power transmission, LG cable set to work development of high stress cable. LG cable stated in 1996, got a certificate of type test in 1998, and applied at domestic site in Nov. 1999. High stress cable has some merit, decrease of civil cost, reduction of work time, by reason of decrease of dia. and weight, and economical system design, so LG cable has a good merit in comparison with competitive company in domestic and foreign market.

Design and development of a propeller fan for a cooling tower have been accomplished by both numerical prediction of performance and experimental validation with a wind tunnel. Main interest lies on blade geometry of a fan for optimal design of aerodynamic performance. A commercial program, Fine/Turbo used for the present numerical estimation, gives us engineering information such as flow details near the blades and flow rate of the system. The numerical results are compared with precise experimental output and show good agreement in comparison between the two data. Also new proposed model of a blade shows improved performance relative to present running model in market.

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of environment-friendly materials on garlic cultivation, and the methods for processing garlic at proper ripening stage to increase its antioxidant properties and market value. The functional properties of garlic and processed black garlic were analyzed in vitro and ex vivo. The ethanol extracts of garlic and black garlic were used in the antioxidant, linoleic acid autooxidation, lipid oxidation and RAW264.7 indicator cell using NO induced activity analyses. Also, toxicity tests by RBL-2H3 and RAW264.7 indicator cell using MTT assay were compared. Obesity inhibition test of garlic and black garlic were also studied.
