  • Amid the growing importance and urgency of smartening in the Korean maritime logistics industry, this study conducted a survey on the status of Korea's maritime trade technology. Korea is on par with developed countries internationally, but in order to lead the digitalization of the future era, additional developments should be explored by reviewing current conditions. In particular, it is necessary to draw policy implications for smart shipping in Korea, which is a three-sided sea. This study derived technical implications by comparing the number of patent applications and the applicant for domestic and foreign patents related to the major technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. In addition, it was intended to investigate and present the status of Korea's maritime trade technology through the analysis of smart shipping-related emotions and the analysis of positive and negative scores of companies related to sentiment analysis.

Accordingly, constant an increasing number of businesses have adopted mobile applications for work, especially in the field of maritime logistics, where maritime logistics mobile applications are utilized to track cargos and to provide visibility. Through surveys, this study did empirical analyses to find out the intention to use maritime logistics mobile applications of maritime logistics workers, and the find out factors affecting their actual use of mobile applications developed and used in the domestic maritime logistics industry. As for study variables, social influence, innovation, perceived value, and collaboration between companies were used as factors that affect the intention to use mobile applications. In addition, as a tool for measuring the actual use of mobile applications, which is necessary for figuring out the relationship between the intention to use them and their actual use, the connecting frequency and using time were used. A total of 168 surveys were used in the hypothesis test. The results of the analyses are as follow: First, the three variables of social influence, innovation, and perceived value positively affected the intention to use maritime logistics mobile applications. However, collaboration between companies did not affect the intention to use the applications. Second, the intention to use the mobile applications positively affected the actual use.

  • The expense Our country's land logistics system is becoming backlog day by day. The greenhouse gas which it discharges specially from the vehicle causes a ecocide and traffic expense to make. The traffic energy curtailment which the government enforces during that time and environment-friendly green goods policy lost the effect. Therefore, This research propose the car-ferri network which is the most effective logistics system substitutes the land logistics system. This research will contribute improving the north and south logistics network of Pusan and Seoul region and will be able to reduce a various goods expense.

  • After the COVID-19 pandemic, a global economic downturn and a recession in the shipping market are expected, it is important for domestic shipping companies to establish appropriate strategy in response to the recession. Accordingly, domestic shipping companies should grow into integrated logistics companies that combine shipping and logistics in the future. And for this purpose, it is necessary to actively promote logistics integration with external shipping and logistics companies. This paper presents the direction of logistics integration for domestic shipping companies to develop as integrated logistics operators with competitiveness in the global shipping market, and presents detailed alternatives. Domestic shipping companies lack the infrastructure such as ships, port terminals, and warehouses, so they have a weak capacity to independently promote logistics integration. At the shipping company level, a logistics integration promotion strategy should be established, and accordingly, logistics infrastructure, service network, and logistics integration operating system should be established. The government should provide tax benefits for logistics integration, financial support for M&As led by domestic shipping companies, a standardized information sharing system, and preparation of educational courses for nurturing digital manpower.

  • Maritime transport is dominant in the overall volume of all international transportation. Existence and overcoming of problems, which cause pressure on shipping safety, remain actual and fully concern both maritime and inland transport. Increasing speed and cargo capacity of the ships along with the reduction of crew members lead to the automation of a growing number of work processes, which indicates the need to actively introduce appropriate measures in the security system of sea-going ships and commercial ports and to develop modern approaches to minimize negative events and incidents in the process of ship operation. Advantages in use of modern methods of monitoring the safety of ship operations, management of possible events and incidents, including investigation of accidents, first, aimed at prevention of negative occurrences and ways of prevention on this basis. Considering statistics on incidents increase, this work presents analysis of general ship accident rate, study of major accidental events growth annually, and investigation of causes of incidents, which most frequently occur in port waters and at open sea. A survey of current approaches to ensuring the safety of shipping by implementing effective tools, such as event and incident management, has been conducted.
