나노금속분말 윤활제를 적용한 산업용 디젤엔진의 성능 (The Performance of a Diesel Engine Using Lubricant Containing Nano-metal Powder)

  • A diesel engine requires a high Performance of lubrication because of the extreme conditions such as high temperature and pressure during combustion process in a cylinder. Many researches to improve the lubrication performance on the extreme condition have been executed. The lubricant oil suspended with nano-metal particles is the one of the measure. In this study, the nano-lubricant oil is applied on a commercial diesel engine, and the engine performance is tested. The results show the increase of maximum torque and the decrease of cylinder pressure, exhaust gas temperature, CO emission.

유한요소해석을 이용한 해양 로딩암의 구조안전성 평가 (Structural Safety Evaluation of Marine Loading Arm Using Finite Element Analysis)

  • This paper presents a structural design review of a marine loading arm used for the fluid transfer of a liquid cargo from a ship or offshore plant. The marine loading arm is installed on a ship, offshore plant, or jetty in order to load or unload liquid cargo such as crude oil, liquefied natural gas (LNG), chemical products, etc. The structural design of this marine loading arm is obliged to comply with the design and construction specifications regulated by the oil companies and international marine forum (OCIMF). In this paper, the structural safety of the initial design for the marine loading arm is evaluated for the design load conditions required by various operational modes. The evaluated results based on a finite element analysis (FEA) are reviewed in relation to the OCIMF specifications.

셰일 저류층 내 공극 구조 연구를 위한 표면 밀링 (Surface Milling for the Study of Pore Structure in Shale Reservoirs)

  • 비전통 저류층에서 에너지 자원의 회수율을 높이기 위해서는 저류층 내의 미세 공극 형태와 연결도 등을 포함하는 공극 구조 연구가 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 셰일 저류층 내 나노스케일의 공극 구조 연구에 적합한 조건과 방법을 찾기 위해 집속 이온 빔 시스템(Focused Ion Beam, FIB)과 이온 밀링 시스템(Ion Milling System, IMS)을 이용하여 분석을 진행하였다. 셰일 저류층 내 공극 구조 연구를 위해 리아드 분지에서 획득된 A-068 시추공의 시료를 사용하였다. 각 시료마다 특성이 다르기 때문에 시료 전처리 방법과 조건을 달리하여 최적의 조건을 찾았고 FE-SEM을 이용하여 공극 이미지를 획득하였다. 연구 결과 국소 부위의 공극구조를 관찰하기 위해서는 FIB를 사용하여 시표 표면을 밀링 후 바로 공극 이미지를 얻는 것이 효율적이고 반면에 넓은 면적을 단시간에 밀링하여 여러 공극 구조를 관찰하기 위해서는 IMS를 이용해야 한다는 것을 확인했다. 특히 탄산염 광물 함량이 높고 강도가 큰 암석에 대해서는 FIB보다는 IMS를 활용하여 밀링을 수행해야 공극 구조 관찰이 가능하다는 사실이 밝혀졌다. 본 연구를 통해 셰일 저류층 내 공극 구조 관찰을 위한 방법이 정립되었으며 향후 이를 이용한 셰일 가스 저류층 시료 분석을 통해 공극의 크기나 형태가 셰일가스 회수 증진에 미치는 영향을 밝힐 수 있을 것이다.

연료비 절감을 위한 선박용 연료유 균질기 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Marine Fuel Oil Homogenizer for Fuel Costs Saving)

  • 본 연구에서는 고정자와 회전자에 의해 발생하는 전단력(Shearing force)을 이용한 선박용 연료유 균질기(Homogenizer) 개발에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 균질기의 균질화 및 미립화 정도에 대한 성능을 조사하기 위하여 IFO 380 cSt Bunker-C 시료에 전처리(Pre-treatment)를 시행하였다. 전처리한 시료의 슬러지(Sludge) 저감 효과를 확인하기 위하여 유청정기(Oil purifier)를 이용하였다. 실험결과 균질기로 전처리한 시료에서 슬러지양이 약 13 % 감소하는 것을 확인하였다. 또한, 전처리 후 유청정한 시료를 실제 보일러 시스템에서 연소시켜 CO가 감소하는 연소특성 경향을 확인하였다. 이와 같은 결과를 통해 개발된 선박용 연료유 균질기를 실선에 적용할 경우 연료비 및 운항비용 절감 효과가 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Anti-inflammatory effect of ozonated krill (Euphausia superba) oil in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages

  • Background: Inflammation has been known to associate with many human diseases. The objective of this study was to evaluate an anti-inflammatory effect of ozonated krill (Euphausia superba) oil, which was prepared by the treatment of krill oil using ozone gas. The anti-inflammatory activity was evaluated in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages. Results: Ozonated krill oil significantly inhibited nitric oxide (NO) production and suppressed the mRNA and protein expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages. Ozonated krill oil also reduced the mRNA expression of inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin (IL)-$1{\beta}$, IL-6, and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-${\alpha}$ in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages. To elucidate the mechanism underlying the anti-inflammatory activity of ozonated krill oil, we evaluated the effects of ozonated krill oil on the activation of mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) pathway. Ozonated krill oil suppressed the LPS-stimulated phosphorylation of p38 MAPK and c-Jun N-terminal kinases (JNK). Conclusion: This study revealed that the ozonated krill oil exhibited an anti-inflammatory effect in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report that ozonated krill oil suppressed pro-inflammatory mediator and cytokine expression in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages by inhibiting the phosphorylation of p38 MAPK and JNK.

동해 울릉분지 북서지역 가스하이드레이트 부존 지시자의 탄성파 속성 분석 (Seismic Attribute Analysis of the Indicators for the Occurrence of Gas Hydrate in the Northwestern Area of the Ulleung Basin, East Sea)

  • 동해 울릉분지 북서 해역에서 취득한 3차원 탄성파 탐사자료의 해석에 의하면 연구해역 내 천부퇴적층은 광역반 사면에 의해 분리되는 5개의 탄성파 단위로 구분되며, 다수의 단층을 수반하는 배사구조가 발달한다. 가스하이드레이트 안정영역 내에는 높은 RMS 진폭을 보이는 해저모방반사면과 낮은 RMS 진폭을 보이는 음향공백대가 특징적으로 분포한다. 탄성파 속성 분석에 의하면 가스하이드레이트와 자유가스가 동시에 부존한 경우 그 경계를 따라 순간진폭이 높게 나타나며 하부에서 순간주파수가 급격히 감소한다. 반면 가스하이드레이트만 존재하는 경우에는 하부에서 순간진폭이 낮고 순간주파수가 감소하지 않는다. 해저모방반사면의 주파수 성분 분해 결과 특정 고주파수 영역에서 나타나는 강한 진폭은 하부 자유가스에 의한 튜닝효과를 지시한다. 가스하이드레이트, 자유가스 및 퇴적층의 경사를 고려한 네 가지 가스하이드레이트 부존모델을 제시하고 그 특징을 기술하였다.

  • Large dynamic loads act on the rotor in rotary compressors. There are unbalance forces due to eccentric rotation parts and gas forces induced by the pressure difference between compression and suction gases. Rotor-journal bearing system is nonlinear since the stiffness and damping coef-ficients of the lubrication oil film are not constant in the bearings. in this paper the program for predicting the behaviors of rotor-journal bearing system of rotary compressor is developed. Finite element modeling is used to analyze the flexible rotor. The numerical results are compared with experimental results.

  • Availability of economic and efficient energy resources is crucial to a nation's development. Because of their low cost and advancement in drilling and exploration technologies, oil and gas based energy systems are the most widely used energy source throughout the world. The inexpensive oil and gas based energy systems are used for everything, i.e., from transportation of goods and people to the harvesting of crops for food. As the energy demand continues to rise, there is strong need for inexpensive energy solutions. An offshore platform is a large structure that is used to house workers and machinery needed to drill wells in the ocean bed, extract oil and/or natural gas, process the produced fluids, and ship or pipe them to shore. Depending on the circumstances, the offshore platform can be fixed (to the ocean floor) or can consist of an artificial island or can float. Semi-submersibles are used for various purposes in offshore and marine engineering, e.g. crane vessels, drilling vessels, tourist vessels, production platforms and accommodation facilities, etc. The challenges of deepwater drilling have further motivated the researchers to design optimum choices for semi-submersibles for a chosen operating depth. In our series of eight papers, we discuss the design and production aspects of all the types of offshore platforms. In the present part I, we present an introduction and critical analysis of semi-submersibles.

Study of Specific energy of mechanical destruction of ice for calculation of ice load on ships and offshore structures

  • Analysis of scenarios of transportation oil and gas which produced in the Arctic and others cold seas shows that in the near-term there will be a significant increase of tonnage of tankers for oil and gas and number of ships which should be exploited in difficult ice conditions. For the construction of ice-resistant structures (IRS) intended for production of oil and gas and transportation of these products at ice-class vessels, calculating the load from ice to board the ship and on surface of supports of the platforms are the actuality and urgent tasks. These tasks have one basis in both cases: at beginning of the contact occurs fracture of edge of ice, then occurs compressing of rubble shattered of ice, then they extruding from contact area, after this next layer of ice begin to destruct. At calculating the strength of plating and elements construct of vessels, icebreakers and ice-resistant platforms the specific energy of mechanical destruction ice ${\epsilon}_{cr}$ is an important parameter. For the whole period of study of physical and mechanical characteristics of sea ice have been not many experimental studies various researchers to obtain numerical values of this energetic characteristic of the strength of ice by a method called Ball Drop Test. This study shows that the destruction of the ice from dynamic loading in zone of contact occurs in several cycles, and the ice destructed with a minimum numerical values of ${\epsilon}_{cr}$. The author offer this energy characteristic to take as a base value for the calculation of ice load on ships and offshore structures.

  • 천연가스는 그 생성을 석유원유와 같이 하고 있으며 이두 열에너지자원은 해성생물인 Plankton의 해저퇴적물이 심해저의 혐기성 환경하에서 생화학적 작용을 받으면서 매몰되어 탄화수소가스와 탄화수소유로 변질된 것이다. 이러한 자원의 부존지층은 주로 제삼기층의 수성퇴적암층으로 되어 있다. 천연가스의 부존형태는 유전성가스전 구조성가스트 및 수용성가스전의 세가지형태로서 구분될 수 있다.
