블루투스 통신을 이용한 선박용 디젤엔진의 크랭크 샤프트 디플렉션 무선 측정 시스템 개발 (Development of Crank Shaft Deflection Measuring System by Bluetooth Communication For the Marine Diesel Engine)

  • 선박용 엔진의 제작에 있어 크랭크 샤프트 조립 시 1 회전의 상태에서 크랭크 스루 간의 디플렉션의 상대값이 정상오차 범위를 넘어서는지 확인한 후 조립상태를 보정하게 된다. 기존의 방법은 다이얼 게이지를 사용하여 측정 담당자가 베드 플레이트 내에 들어가 크랭크 샤프트 회전 시 따라 돌면서 직접 육안 확인을 통해 측정이 이루어졌다. 이 때, 측정의 불편함과 열악한 작업환경 하의 안전 문제가 야기된다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 본 연구에서는 블루투스 통신을 이용하여 디지털 게이지를 사용한 측정장치 기구부의 신호를 무선으로 받아서 작업자는 베드 플레이트 외부에서 측정이 가능하도록 하는 시스템의 개발하였다. 이를 통해 작업의 편리성 및 안정성을 확보했으며, 디지털 측정을 통한 측정의 정확도를 향상시켰다.

  • 본 연구에서는 소형선박용 고속디젤기관의 고장으로 발생되는 해양사고를 저감하기 위하여 엔진의 상태를 사전에 기관운전자가 알 수 있도록 시스템을 구성하여 기존의 엔진에 이상이 발생하였을때 가시가청 경보를 울리는 것보다 한 단계 전에 엔진의 상태를 미리 알 수 있도록 하여, 기관의 고장으로 인한 해양사고 저감에 목표를 두고 과제를 진행하였다. 또한, 대형선박에서 사용하고 있는 고가의 고성능을 발휘하는 고장예측진단시스템은 많이 개발되어 있으나, 영세한 소형어선에 적용할 수 있는 소형의 저렴한 시스템 개발에 최종목표를 두고 1차년도 연구과제를 수행하였다.

LNGC용 Power Management System 시뮬레이터 모델링 및 특성분석 (Power Management System Simulator Modeling and Characteristics Analysis for Electric Propulsion Ship)

  • In this paper, Power Management System(PMS) simulator for Liquid Nature Gas Carrier(LNGC) is developed. Major components of power system for LNGC, such as generator, diesel engine and governor, transformer, circuit breaker, and 3 phase loads models are built based on MATLAB/SIMULINK. With these designed major parts, PMS simulator modeling is carried out. Based on MATLAB/Graphical User Interface, PMS simulator control for LNGC, and Human Machine Interface for monitoring is designed. PMS simulator for LNGC carries out simulation according to sequence of characteristics analysis. By comparing results of predicted simulation for each sequence to that of characteristics analysis, the reliability of PMS simulator for LNGC will be verified.

STATIC CHARACTERISTICS OF A UREA-SCR SYSTEM FOR NOx REDUCTION IN DIESEL ENGINES

  • This paper presents the static characteristics of a urea-SCR system. The static characterization of the urea-SCR system was generated by sweeping urea flow rates at common engine torque/speed operating points. Several experiments were performed using engine operating points at different raw NOx emission levels, space velocities, and SCR catalyst temperatures. The recorded NOx emissions from the engine exhaust outlet and engine tailpipe are then compared. The urea-SCR static system results indicated that a $50{\sim}60%$ NOx conversion is achievable at most engine operating points using the stoichiometric $NH_3/NOx$ ratio, and a high 98% NOx conversion is possible by exceeding the stoichiometric $NH_3/NOx$ ratio. The effect of the pre-oxidation catalyst volume was also investigated and found to have a profound impact on experimental results, particularly the static NOx conversion.

  • The fuel cells have been investigated in the applications of marine as the high efficient and eco-friendly power generating systems. In this study, modeling of IR Type molten carbonate fuel cell (Internal Reforming Type molten carbonate fuel cell) has been developed to analyze the feasibility of thermal energy utilization. The model is developed under Aspen plus and used for the study of system performances over regarding fuel types. The simulation results show that the efficiency of MCFC system based on NG fuel is the highest. Also, it is also verified that the steam reforming is suitable as pre-reforming for diesel fuel.

  • This paper describes a detailed experimental Investigation of heat transfer In a reciprocating rectangular channel fitted with rib structures with particular reference to the design of a piston for marine propulsive diesel engine. The parametric test matrix involves Reynolds number, reciprocating frequency, and reciprocating radius, respectively, in the ranges, $1,000\;{\~}\;6,000,\;1.7\;{\~}\;2.5\;Hz,\;and\;7\;{\~}\;15cm$ with four different rib arrangements. The rib arrangements have considerable influences on the heat transfer in the reciprocating channel due to the modified vortex flow structure. The experimental data confirm that the increases in the heat transfer can be seen in order of Case (a), Case (d), Case (c), and Case (b)

An Algorithm for Robust Noninteracting Control of Ship Propulsion System

  • In this paper, a new algorithm for noninteracting control system design is proposed and applied to ship propulsion system control. For example, if a ship diesel engine is operated by consolidated control with controllable pitch propeller (CPP), the minimum fuel consumption is achieved satisfying the demanded ship speed. For this, it is necessary that the ship is operated on the ideal operating line which satisfies the minimum fuel consumption, and the both pitch angle of CPP and throttle valve angle are controlled simultaneously. In this context of view, this paper gives a controller design method for a ship propulsion system with CPP based on noninteracting control theory. Where, linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach is introduced for the control system design to satisfy the given $H_{\infty}$, constraint in the presence of physical parameter perturbation and disturbance input. To the end, the validity and applicability of this approach are illustrated by the simulation in the all operating ranges.

선박용 디젤엔진 과급기 로터 접합체의 부식특성에 미치는 비틀림응력의 영향 (Effects of Torsional Stress on the Corrosion Characteristics in the Rotor Assembly of Marine Diesel Engine Supercharger)

  • The corrosion experiment was performed for 120 hours on the specimens in the natural seawater tank with four steps of the loaded torsional stress. The surface corrosion pattern of SCM440 area was showed global corrosion and narrow pitting, that was cause by galvanic corrosion between friction welded IN713LC and SCM440. But corrosion does not proceeded from IN713LC area. Initially, the average relative electrode potential and corrosion current were decreased suddenly, by and large, it was stabilized gradually tend to decreasing with the elapse of the immersion time. The corrosion rate was decreased by increasing the load stress, but 200 MPa specimen was showed most large value.

  • Piston crown to the hot forge a unified nature of the product has a shape with multi-level step forging process, so if you are not a mechanical professional, this process could lead to a significant loss to the material. Therefore, material technology in minor terms; continue to improve the collection rate that undamaged the product material. The piston crown and the manufacturing products such as marine diesel engines are being forged to reduce costs and to improve mechanical properties. Piston crown molding is a hot forging process that works in large volume forging products. Because of the size of the hard plastic material flow process for improving the design and actual field experience through advanced plastic technology, it is important to interpret the results. Also for many experimental plastic procedures, the accumulation of results is very important.

  • Recently, all the generators needed of the boats are being imported, so our objective is to make a national production of soundproof generators. We have already built a marine soundproof generator and it has also been hrough an endurance test for its commercialization. This paper has the noise vibration measurements needed for maintaining its durability and performance. We concluded that the difference of the noise values with and without the case was of 11.4dB.
