선체 구조용 강재에 대한 Al과 Zn 아크용사코팅 층의 캐비테이션 손상 특성 (Cavitation Damage Characteristics of Al and Zn Arc Thermal Spray Coating Layers for Hull Structural Steel)

  • In this study, Al and Zn arc thermal spray coatings were carried out onto the substrate of SS400 steel to improve corrosion resistance and durability of hull structural steel for ship in marine environment. Therefore cavitation-erosion test was conducted to evaluate the durability of painted and thermal spray coated specimens. And then the damaged surface morphology and weight loss were obtained to compare with each other, respectively. As a result, the painted specimen was the poorest cavitation resistance characteristics because surface damage behavior appeared to be exfoliated in bulk shape during the cavitation experiment. And Zn thermal spray coating layer presented the significant surface damage depth due to relatively low surface hardness and local cavitation damage tendency. On the other hand, as a result of the weight loss analysis, the painting layer presented the poorest cavitation resistance and the Al thermal spray coating layer relatively showed the best results after cavitation experiment.

  • A floating-type wave power pump is a device which sends air into water by using wave power. The floating-type wave power pump has the new configuration composed of a curved surface reflection board, a slope, and phase plates. As a result of a water-tank experiment it turned out that the floating-type wave power pump with a curved surface reflection board and a slope raised power and efficiency in the wide wavelength waves. The result of a marine experiment was also preferable. The floating-type wave power pump sends air into the sea by using wave power, so it can be used for the improvement of marine environment. In addition, the floating body constituted of a curved surface reflection board, a slope, and phase plates, is effective as a device to utilize the energy of a wave. Therefore, it can be widely used for a wave power generation, pumping up deep seawater.

천연해수 용액에서 STS 304와 용융 알루미늄 도금된 STS 304의 캐비테이션-침식 환경 하에서의 전기화학적 특성 (Electrochemical Characteristics under Cavitation-Erosion Environment of STS 304 and Hot-Dip Aluminized STS 304 in Sea Water Solution)

  • In this paper, the characteristics of a cavitation-erosion damage behavior on the STS 304 and hot-dip aluminized STS 304 under cavitation environment in sea water solution was investigated. The electrochemical experiments were carried out by potential measurement, anodic/cathodic polarization test, Tafel analysis, and also galvanostatic experiment in current density variables for the samples. The apparatus of cavitation-electrochemical experiment was manufactured in compliance with modified ASTM G-32 standard, with the conditions of sea water temperature of $25^{\circ}C$ and the measurement, amplitude of $30{\mu}m$. The damage behavior was analyzed by an observation of surface mophologies and a measurement of damage depth by a scanning electron microscope(SEM) and a 3D microscope, respectively, after electrochemical test. After polarization experiment under cavitation environment, much higher damage depths for the hot-dip aluminized STS 304 were observed comparing to the untreated STS 304. In addition, higher corrosion current density in hot-dip aluminized STS 304 presented than that of untreated STS 304 as a result of Tafel analysis.

예인선 좌초에 의한 해양오염사고 감소방안에 관한 연구 - GPS 플로터에 좌초사고 위치표시 실험을 중점으로 - (A Study on a Method to Reduce Marine Pollution Accidents through Tugboat Grounding - Focusing on an Experiment of Indicating the Location of Stranded Accidents on GPS Plotters -)

  • 해양오염사고가 발생하면 삼면이 바다인 우리나라는 막대한 피해를 입게 된다. 국내 해양오염사고를 분석한 결과 오염원 대부분이 소형어선과 예인선이었으며 특히, 예인선의 좌초에 의한 해양오염사고 발생률이 높아 시급한 안전대책이 요구된다. 본 연구의 목적은 해양오염사고의 주요 오염원인 예인선에 의한 좌초사고 예방방안을 마련함으로써 2차적으로 발생 가능한 해양오염사고를 감소시키는데 있다. 이러한 방안을 마련하기 위하여 보령해역을 운항하는 예인선 61척의 GPS 플로터에 과거 좌초사고 발생위치 63개소를 표시하고 선장들에게 표시된 좌초위치를 주의하여 확인하면서 운항하도록 하는 실험을 하고 효과여부를 조사하였다. 실험결과 20개월의 실험기간 동안 피험선박에 의한 좌초사고 발생이 한 건도 없었고 선장대상 설문조사 결과 응답자 40명 중 36명(90%)이 안전항해에 상당한 도움이 되었다고 응답하여 실험 효과가 검증되었다. 실험결과를 적용하여 GPS 플로터에 좌초사고 위치표시 및 알려지지 않은 암초 위치정보를 홈페이지에 게시하는 등의 방법으로 제조사 및 사용자에게 정보제공 방안 제안 등 다양한 좌초사고 예방에 관한 정책제언을 하였다.

인체의 표류특성 추정을 위한 현장실험 (A Field Experiment for the Determination of Drift Characteristics of Person-in-Water)

  • 인체의 표류특성을 규명하기 위해 1997년 8월부터 1998년 4월까지 실물을 이용한 현장실험을 실시하였다. 실험은 부산 영도구에 위치한 조도 부근해역에서 행하여졌고, 조난자로는 제중 60∼87kg, 키 170∼178 cm의 대학생들이 역할을 대신하였다. 실험중 조난자의 과도한 열손실을 방지하기 위해 네오프렌 재질의 5mm 잠수복을 착용하였다. 그리고 표류물체 주위의 유속 측정을 위해서는 비닐 백을 사용하였다. 결과 비교를 위해 조난자 옆에 스쿠버 장비를 갖추고 부력조절기에 바람을 가득 넣은 다이버를 함께 표류시켰다. 자료를 분석한 결과 잠수복만 입은 조난자 및 스쿠버 다이버의 평균 leeway rate는 각각 수면상 10m 높이 풍속의 약 0.4%와 1.3%이었다.

안정화 원소 첨가에 따른 스테인리스강의 기계적 특성과 해수환경 하에서의 전기화학적 특성 (Effects of stabilizing elements on mechanical and electrochemical characteristics of stainless steel in marine environment)

  • Ti과 Nb과 같은 안정화 원소가 첨가된 스테인리스강은 입계부식 방지 효과가 있어 해양 및 조선 산업에 널리 사용되는 내식성 재료이다. 본 연구에서는 STS 304 주성분에 탄소 안정화 원소인 Ti(0.26%, 0.71%)와 Nb(0.29%, 0.46%, 0.71%)을 농도 변수로 첨가한 시편을 제작하여, 안정화 원소 함량에 따른 기계적 특성 및 전기화학적 특성을 평가하였다. 합금 원소 첨가에 따른 재료의 기계적 특성 파악을 위해 마이크로 비커스 경도기를 이용하여 경도 측정을 실시하였다. 재료의 전기화학적 특성을 파악하기 위해 타펠분석, 사이클릭 분극(Cyclic polarization) 실험, 정전류 실험을 실시하여 재료별 내식성을 상호 비교하였다. 실험 결과, Nb 첨가 시편의 경우 Nb 함량 증가에 따라 경도 향상을 나타냈으나, Ti의 경우 경도 향상 효과가 미미한 것으로 나타났다. 전기화학특성의 경우 Nb 함량 증가에 따라 대체적으로 전기화학적 특성이 개선되는 반면 Ti의 경우 오히려 전기화학특성이 열화되는 것으로 나타났다. 결과적으로, 안정화 원소의 종류와 함량에 따라 전기화학적 특성이 큰 차이를 나타내며, 해수환경에 적용되는 스테인리스강 강종 개발시 이를 고려한 설계가 중요할 것으로 사료된다.

삼각형상 그루브 채널의 비정상 유동특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Unsteady Flow Characteristics of Triangular Grooved Channel)

  • This experimental study was performed to investigate internal flow and unsteady flow characteristics using a model for actual shape of a Plate heat exchanger and visualization of flow through the particle image velocimetry. Seven Reynolds numbers were selected by calculation with the height of grooved channel and sectional mean velocity of inlet flow in the experiment, and instantaneous velocity distributions and flow characteristics were experimently investigated. The triangular grooved channel had a compound flow consisting of the flow in lower channel and the groove flow receiving shear stress by the channel flow in the experiment. The sheared mixing layer, in the boundary between the triangular groove and the channel. affected main flow to raise turbulent in the channel.

변동환경 대응을 위한 난방System의 쾌적 알고리즘 개발 (Development of comfort algorism for Indoor temperature chagne in Heating System)

  • This study investigated physiology and psychological response of subjects, when heat pump was operated long time within comfort temperature range. Eight subjects were participated for the experiment. Their age was from 22 to 25 years old. The results of this experiment will propose basic data for improving comfort control algorithm in fluctuating environment by using heat pump. When indoor temperature was controlled by heat pump, the conclusion was as follows. 1) When votes of subjects was considered, the thermal comfort neutrality or lower range helped formation of comfort sensation for subjects. 2) When room temperature was lower, thermal comforts of shoulder, knee and foot with subjects thermal comfort showed high correlation. And when room temperature was higher, thermal comfort of face region with subjects thermal comfort showed high correlation. 3) The necessity of temperature change after 50 minutes from initially operating heat pump demands the additional analysis against the physiological signal.

해수용액에서 선박용 Al-Mg-Si 합금의 전기화학적 실험에 의한 방식전위 결정 (The Protection Potential Decision by Electrochemical Experiment of Al-Mg-Si Alloy for Ship in Seawater)

  • The many vessels are built with FRP(Fiber-Reinforced Plastic) material for small boats and medium vessels. However, FRP is impossible to be used for recyclable material owing to environmental problems and causes large proportion of collision accidents because radar reflection wave is so weak that large vessels could not detect FRP ships during the sailing. Hence, Al alloy comes into the spotlight to solve these kinds of problems as a new-material for next generation instead of FRP. Al alloy ships are getting widely introduced for fish and leisure boats to save fuel consumption due to lightweight. In this study, it was selected 6061-T6 Al alloy which are mainly used for Al-ships and carried out various electrochemical experiment such as potential, anodic/cathodic polarization, Tafel analysis, potentiostatic experiment and surface morphologies observation after potentiostatic experiment for 1200 sec by using the SEM equipment to evaluate optimum corrosion protection potential in sea water. It is concluded that the optimum corrosion protection potential range is -1.4 V ~ -0.7 V(Ag/AgCl) for 6061-T6 Al alloy, in the case of application of ICCP(Impressed current cathodic protection), which was shown the lowest current density at the electrochemical experiment and good specimen surface morphologies after potentiostatic experiment for Al-Mg-Si(6061-T6) Al alloy in seawater environment.
