The Objective of this study was to develop a system for visualizing inundation area by using 1-D numerical model analyzing damage information such as inundation area, facilities, land usages, population, building, loads. In this study, we have reviewed hydraulic models to select a flood model for simulation of discharges, water depths and velocities. The study area is Namhan River from Youngwol to Paldang Dam which had a flood damage on upper and below regions of Chungju Dam by a storm event in 2006. At the first, we developed the DB system base on GIS thematic map, ortho images, cadastral maps to analyze flood damages and support decisions making. Changing the boundary conditions such as discharge at the gauging stations, flood simulations were performed and then damages were extracted from the databases information support system based on 1-D numerical hydraulic model, it is expected to be able to analyze flood damages and support a decision making for reduce flood relate damages. In the future, the system developed in this study could be applied for flood forecasting system of small scaled streams.

In this paper we propose the approach for big data integration so as to analyze, visualize and predict the future of the trend of the market, and that is to get the integration data model using the R language which is the future of the statistics and the Hadoop which is a parallel processing for the data. As four approaching methods using R and Hadoop, ff package in R, R and Streaming as Hadoop utility, and Rhipe and RHadoop as R and Hadoop interface packages are used, and the strength and weakness of four methods are described and analyzed, so Rhipe and RHadoop are proposed as a complete set of data integration model. The integration of R, which is popular for processing statistical algorithm and Hadoop contains Distributed File System and resource management platform and can implement the MapReduce programming model gives us a new environment where in R code can be written and deployed in Hadoop without any data movement. This model allows us to predictive analysis with high performance and deep understand over the big data.

Objectives : This study investigated the protective effects of the water extracts of Chongmyung-tang, Polygalae Radix, and Acori Graminei Rhizoma in an in vivo Alzheimer's disease (AD) mouse model. Methods : Memory impairment was induced by an intraventricular injection of $A{\beta}25-35$ peptides and subsequently Chongmyung-tang, Polygalae Radix, or Acori Graminei Rhizoma extract were administered orally for 14days. Results : In the water maze task, Chongmyung-tang, Polygalae Radix, and Acori Graminei Rhizoma extracts improved learning ability during the acquisition period and significantly increased memory scores during the retention period versus $A{\beta}-injected$ controls. Furthermore, the toxicity of $A{\beta}25-35$ on hippocampus was assessed immunohistochemically (Tau, MAP2, TUNEL, Bax) and by in vitro study. Chongmyung-tang, Polygalae Radix, and Acori Graminei Rhizoma demonstrated significant neuroprotective effects against oxidative damage and apoptotic cell death of hippocampal neurons damaged by $A{\beta}25-35$. Conclusions : These results suggested that Chongmyung-tang, Polygalae Radix and Acori Graminei Rhizoma extract improve memory impairment and reduce Alzheimer's dementia via anti-apoptotic effects and by modulating the expressions of Tau and MAP2 protein in the hippocampus.

The Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) complexly perform modeling and simulation (M&S) for the various embedded systems. In this case, due to use diverse formatted models, we suggest to apply with the SEDRIS to systematically manage the different formatted data on M&S. The SEDRIS can reduce time and cost with reusing and interoperating environment data developed in the specific domain. To do this, we should input the data transformed the height map for terrain representation in a simulator into raster data of SEDRIS for which interoperate between the existed simulator and the SEDRIS. To solve the problem, we propose the transformation method to transfer the polygon data from RAW file used in terrain representation. With the proposed method, we can provide two advantages. First, it can possibly express the environment data into SEDRIS. Second, we can see the terrain like an image file through a viewer. Therefore, even non-expert easily constructs the terrain environment data.
CXC chemokine receptor 2 (CXCR2) is a prominent chemokine receptor on neutrophils. CXCR2 antagonist may reduce the neutrophil chemotaxis and alter the inflammatory response because the neutrophilic inflammation in the lung diseases is found to be largely regulated through CXCR2 receptor. Hence, in the present study, Hologram based Quantitative Structure Activity Relationship Study was performed on a series of CXCR2 antagonist named pyrimidine-5-carbonitrile-6-alkyl derivatives. The best HQSAR model was obtained using atoms, bonds, and chirality as fragment distinction parameter using hologram length 151 and 6 components with fragment size of minimum 4 and maximum 7. Significant cross-validated correlation coefficient ($q^2=0.774$) and non cross-validated correlation coefficients ($r^2=0.977$) were obtained. The model was then used to evaluate the six external test compounds and its $r^2_{pred}$ was found to be 0.614. Contribution map show that presence of cyclopropyl ring and its bulkier substituent's makes big contributions for improving the biological activities of the compounds. We hope that our HQSAR model and analysis will be helpful for future design of novel and structurally related CXCR2 antagonists.

This paper suggests a systematic methodology to predict chip forms using the experimental design technique and the neural network. Significant factors determined with ANOVA analysis are used as input variables of the neural network back-propagation algorithm. It has been shown that cutting conditions and cutting tool shapes have distinct effects on the chip forms, so chip breaking. Cutting tools are represented using the Z-map method, which differs from existing methods using some chip breaker parameters. After training the neural network with selected input variables, chip forms are predicted and compared with original chip forms obtained from experiments under same input conditions, showing that chip forms are same at all conditions. To verify the suggested model, one tool not used in training the model is chosen and input to the model. Under various cutting conditions, predicted chip forms agree well with those obtained from cutting experiments. The suggested method could reduce the cost and time significantly in designing cutting tools as well as replacing the“trial-and-error”design method.

The aim of this study is to apply and verify of Bayesian probability model, the likelihood ratio and statistical model, at Janghung, Korea, using a Geographic Information System (GIS). Landslide locations were identified in the study area from interpretation of IRS satellite images, field surveys, and maps of the topography, soil type, forest cover, geology and land use were constructed to spatial database. The factors that influence landslide occurrence, such as slope, aspect and curvature of topography were calculated from the topographic database. Texture, material, drainage and effective soil thickness were extracted from the soil database, and type, diameter and density of forest were extracted from the forest database. Land use was classified from the Landsat TM image satellite image. As each factor's ratings, the likelihood ratio coefficient were overlaid for landslide susceptibility mapping, Then the landslide susceptibility map was verified and compared using the existing landslide location. The results can be used to reduce hazards associated with landslides management and to plan land use and construction.

The automobile industry requires technological innovations to reduce fuel consumption with the public interest in environmental conservation in recent years. Thus, the hybrid system is applied not only to passenger cars but also commercial vehicles. The purpose of this paper is to develop engine ECU_ILS to develop commercial hybrid vehicles. In order to develop the engine and vehicle, the dynamometer and exhaust gas analyzer is needed. However, a lot of time and cost are required. In contrast, the model-based development environment that can be applied to a variety of test conditions can reduce development time. Therefore, a HILS system environment that can consider the behavior of actual vehicles for evaluation of the control logic, fuel consumption and exhaust gas is required. This engine ECU_ILS system was developed in this study, can analyze parameter such as the fuel injection rate, fuel injection time, fuel consumption and exhaust gas like the actual vehicle test using map data. Also, this system is expected to be able to analyze the characteristic of vehicle behavior and the development of peripheral device in relation to engine and vehicles. This HILS system can be used to develop control strategies of commercial hybrid vehicle systems in the future.

Soil erosion has caused serious environmental problems which threaten the foundation of natural resources. In this paper, we chose RUSLE erosion model, which could be connected easily with GSIS and available generally in mid-scale watershed among soil erosion models, and extracted factors entered model by using GSIS spatial analysis method. First, this study used GIS database as soil map, DEM, land cover map and rainfall data of typhoon Memi (2003) to analyze soil loss amount of Dam basin. To analyze the changes of soil loss in considering basin characteristics as up-, mid- and downstream, this study calculated soil erodibility factor (K), topographic factors (LS), and cover management factor (C). As a result of analysis, K and LS factors of upstream showed much higher than those of downstream because of the high ratio of forest. But C factor of downstream showed much higher than that of upstream because of the high ratio of agricultural area. As a result of analysis of soil loss, unit soil loss of upstream is 4.3 times than soil loss of downstream. Therefore, the establishment of countermeasures for upstream is more efficient to reduce soil loss.
