This paper describes an application of information presentation based geographic map for maritime information, including navigation information. The work is motivated by the need to prepare maritime information representation and distribution for future generation Web network technology. This works consist of map generation using GML and application to maritime information. GML 3.0 became an adopted specification of the Open Geospatial Consortium(OGC) in January 2003, and is rapidly emerging as the world standard for the encoding, transport and storage of all forms of geographic information. This paper looks at the application of GML to one of the more challenging areas of maritime information. Specific features of GML of interest to maritime information provider are discussed and then illustrated through a series of maritime information case studies. The first phase of the work consists of the construction of GML application schema for using as a base map of maritime information. Maritime information is acquired from multiple sources, including standards documents, database schemas, lexicons, collections of symbol definition. The sources of GML ontological knowledge and the contribution of each source to the overall ontology are described in this paper. In the second phase, the prepared GML is used to create a prototype of the mixed maritime information as a base map - for tagging documents within the maritime domain. An overview of this prototype is included. One application area for these information elements described here is the integrated retrieval of maritime information from diverse sources, ranging from Web sites to nautical chart databases and text documents.

Detecting straight lines in an image is frequently required for various machine vision applications such as restoring CAD drawings from scanned images and object recognition. The standard Hough transform has been dominantly used to that purpose. However, massive storage requirement and low precision in estimating line parameters due to the quantization of parameter space are the major drawbacks of the Hough transform technique. In this paper, to overcome the drawbacks, an iterative algorithm based on a self-organizing map is presented. The self-organizing map can be adaptively learned such that image points are clustered by prominent lines. Through the procedure of the algorithm, a set of lines are sequentially detected one at a time. The algorithm can produce highly precised estimates of line parameters using very small amount of storage memory. Computational results for synthetically generated images are given. The promise of the algorithm is also demonstrated with its application to two natural images of inserts.

Image scrambling is an important technology in information hiding, where the Arnold transformation is widely used. Several researchers have proposed the application of $H{\acute{e}}non$ map in square image scrambling, and certain improved technologies require scrambling many times to achieve a good effect without resisting chosen-plaintext attack although it can be directly applied to non-square images. This paper presents a non-square image scrambling algorithm, which can resist chosen-plaintext attack based on a chaotic two-dimensional Sine Logistic modulation map and $H{\acute{e}}non$ map (2D-SLHM). Theoretical analysis and experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has advantages in terms of key space, efficiency, scrambling degree, ability of anti-attack and robustness to noise interference.

This paper introduces a methodology for construction of ontology-based product knowledge Map. For CPC(Collaborative Product Commerce) environment, engineering application of ontology has been studied . However, there are no generic and comprehensive methodologies for ontology construction yet because of such problems: dependency on experience of ontologist and domain experts and insufficiency of detail stages or rules. To solve those problems, we propose a methodology to construct ontology from engineering documents in semi-automatic. We use middle-out strategy and term's axioms, sub-definitions, to build ontology map. 5-turple ontology structure, semantic network and First order logic (FOL) are used for ontology definition in this study.
A GIS application for assessment of carrying capacity for national parks was developed and presented in this study. Three criteria--ecological factors, facilities, and institutions--were employed as determining factors for assessing the carrying capacity. Using the GIS-based approach, the site-specific carrying capacity for the Chi-Ri National Park was assessed and a carrying capacity map was prepared. This carrying capacity map can be helpful in making policies for decentralizing visitors and keeping the park environmentally stable.

This paper investigated the new calibration algorithm of a straight-type five-hole pressure probe for measuring three-dimensional flow velocity components. This new calibration algorithm was used for velocity data reduction from the calibration map and based on the combination of a look-up, a binary search algorithm and a geometry transformation including the translation and reflection of nodes in a calibration map. The calibration map was expanded up to the application angle, ${\pm}55^{\circ}$ of a probe. This velocity data reduction method showed a perfect performance without any kind of interpolating errors in calculating yaw and pitch angles from the calibration map. Moreover, when it was applied to an actual flow field including a swirling flow, a good result came out on the whole.
This paper proposes a robust watermarking scheme for GIS digital map by using the geometric properties of polyline and polygon, which are the fundamental components in vector data structure. In the proposed scheme, we calculate the lengths and the perimeters of all polylines and polygons in a map and cluster them to a number of groups. Then we embed the binary watermark by changing the mean of lengths and perimeters in an embedding group. For improving the safety and robustness, we permute the binary watermark through PRNS(pseudo-random number sequence) processing and embed it repeatedly in a model. Experimental results verified that our scheme has a good invisibility, safety and robustness to various geometric attacks and also our scheme needs not the original map in the extracting process of watermark.

This study examines the limitations of existing crime mapping that relies mainly on reported crime data, suggests a crime mapping method based on experts' and users' assessments of a neighborhood environment as an alternative approach, and conducts a case study on a real-world site by applying the suggested approach. According to the results of the case analysis, while the areas adjoining arterial roads with heavy pedestrian traffic were shown as high crime risk areas in the crime map based on actual reported crime data, the areas adjoining local roads with low pedestrian traffic were high-risk areas in the crime risk area map based on experts' and residents' evaluations. This study makes a contribution to the field in that it demonstrates the detailed application process of crime risk area mapping according experts' and residents' evaluations, compares the results with those of an existing crime map, and finally shows that the former can function as a complement to the latter.

As location recognition for autonomous vehicles develops, the need for a precise map for autonomous driving has increased. A precise map must be built based upon accurate position. Recent studies have accelerated research in this area by using various sensors that calculate the accurate position by comparing and recognizing objects around the roads. However, application of such methods is limited because these studies only take objects with significant verticality into consideration. Thus, new research is needed to overcome the limitations: a method that is not constrained by the existence of certain types of surrounding objects shall be proposed. Most roads contain road marking information, such as lanes, direction signs, and pedestrian crossings. Such information on the road surface is a valuable resource for building a precise map. This paper proposes a method of building a precise map by using road marking information.

In this paper, we design and implement the Walking Life Festival application, which is based on the Android platform and provides information about domestic travel destinations and regional festivals in South Korea. This application utilizes various sensors found in smartphones, including the Step Counter sensor, Step Detector sensor, Acceleration sensor, and GPS sensor. Additionally, it makes use of Google Map API and Public Open API to offer information about domestic travel destinations and local festivals. The application also incorporates an automatic login feature using the Shared Preference API. When storing login information in the database, it encrypts the input plaintext data using a hash algorithm. For Google Maps integration, it creates objects using the Google.maps.LatLngBounds() method and extends the location information through the extends method. Furthermore, this application contributes to the activation of the domestic tourism industry by notifying users about the timing of local festivals related to domestic travel destinations, thus increasing their opportunities to participate in these festivals.
