Design of Interleaver using the MAP Algorithm Scheme in the Multi-User CDMA Communication System (다중 사용자 CDMA 통신 시스템에서 MAP 알고리즘 기법을 사용한 인터리버 설계)

  • In the recent digital communication systems, the performance of Turbo Code using the error correction coding depends on the interleaver influencing the free distance determination and the recursive decoding algorithms that is executed in the turbo decoder. However, performance depends on the interleaver depth that needs many delays over the reception process. Moreover, turbo code has been known as the robust coding methods with the confidence over the fading channel. International Telecommunication Union(ITU) has recently adopted it as the standardization of the channel coding over the third generation mobile communications(IMT-2000). Therefore, in this paper, we proposed the interleaver that has the better performance than existing block interleaver, and modified turbo decoder that has the parallel concatenated structure using MAP algorithm. In the real-time voice and video service over third generation mobile communications, the performance of the proposed two methods was analyzed and compared with the existing methods by computer simulation in terms of reduced decoding delay using the variable decoding method over AWGN and fading channels for CDMA environments.

  • In this study, a component map generation method using experimental data and the genetic algorithms are newly proposed. In order to generate the performance map for components of this engine, after obtaining engine performance data through many experimental tests, and then the third order equations which have relationships the mass flow function the pressure ratio and the isentropic efficiency as to the engine rotational speed were derived by using the genetic algorithms. A steady-state performance analysis was peformed with the generated maps of the compressor by the commercial gas turbine performance analysis program GASTURB(1). In comparison, it was found that the component maps can be generated from the experimental test data by using the genetic algorithms, and it was confirmed that the analysis results using the generated maps were very similar to those using the scaled maps from the GASTURB.

  • The GWNU (Gangnung-Wonju national university) solar radiation model was developed with radiative transfer theory by Iqbal and it is applied the NREL (National Research Energy Laboratory). Input data were collected and accomplished from the model prediction data from RDAPS (Regional Data Assimilated Prediction Model), satellite data and ground observations. And GWNU solar model calculates not only horizontal surface but also complicated terrain surface. Also, We collected the statistical data related on photovoltaic power generation of the Korean Peninsula and analyzed about photovoltaic power efficiency of the Gangwon region. Finally, the solar energy resource and photovoltaic generation possibility map established up with 4 km, 1 km and 180 m resolution on Gangwon region based on actual equipment from Shinan solar plant,statistical data for photovoltaic and complicated topographical effect.

  • This study concluded that smart glass can combine realistic media and reasonable technologies to compensate for the disappointment of simple one-dimensional board game contents, suggest various games to board game contents that were only possible through advertisements and promotions, and can promote board games, tourism services, and insufficient tourism contents. Content development is highly complete as an educational content in that it can be omitted or repeated by customers, and it is expected to be a board game using interesting smart glasses for the MZ generation.

  • As the popularization and development of 3D display makes common users easy to experience a solid 3D virtual reality, the demand for virtual reality contents are increasing. In this paper, we propose 3D panorama system using vanishing point locationbased depth map generation method. 3D panorama using depthmap stitching gives an effect that makes users feel staying at real place and looking around nearby circumstances. Also, 3D panorama gives free sight point for both nearby object and remote one and provides solid 3D video.

  • An intermediate images generation method using multi-resolution based hierarchical block matching disparity map is proposed. This method is composed of a disparity estimation, an occlusion detection and intermediate image synthesis. For the disparity estimation, which is one of the important processes in intermediate image synthesis, we use the multi-resolution based hierarchical block matching algorithm to overcome the imperfect ness of block matching algorithm. The proposed method makes disparity maps more accurate and dense by multi-resolution based hierarchical block matching, and the estimated disparity maps are used to generate intermediate images of stereo images. Generated intermediate images show 0.1∼1.4 ㏈ higher PSNR than the images obtained by block matching algorithm.

Efficient Generation of Computer-generated Hologram Patterns Using Spatially Redundant Data on a 3D Object and the Novel Look-up Table Method

  • In this paper, a new approach is proposed for the efficient generation of computer-generated holograms (CGHs) using the spatially redundant data on a 3D object and the novel look-up table (N-LUT) method. First, the pre-calculated N-point principle fringe patterns (PFPs) were calculated using the 1-point PFP of the N-LUT. Second, spatially redundant data on a 3D object were extracted and re-grouped into the N-point redundancy map using the run-length encoding (RLE) method. Then CGH patterns were generated using the spatial redundancy map and the N-LUT method. Finally, the generated hologram patterns were reconstructed. In this approach, the object points that were involved in the calculation of the CGH patterns were dramatically reduced, due to which the computational speed was increased. Some experiments with a test 3D object were carried out and the results were compared with those of conventional methods.

  • 본 논문에서는 레이싱 게임에서 도시 맵을 빠르게 생성 및 합성할 수 있는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 레이싱 분류의 게임은 고정된 영역이 아닌 넓은 영역을 이동하는 특징이 있지만 이를 위한 맵을 디자인하고 개발하는 것은 많은 시간을 요구한다. 이 문제는 큰 지형 맵을 전처리 과정에서 생성함으로써 완화 시킬 수 있지만 고정적인 맵은 게임을 지루하게 만들며 그렇다고 다양한 맵을 모두 전처리 과정에서 처리하는 것은 비효율적이다. 이 같은 문제를 해결하기 위해 우리는 전처리 과정에서 지형 패턴을 만들어 실시간에 맵을 생성하고 다양한 맵을 랜덤하게 합성 할 수 있는 기법을 제안한다. 또한, View-dependent기법을 제안하는 프레임워크를 통합시켜 불필요한 렌더링 계산을 줄임으로써 효율성을 증대시킨다. 본 연구는 Unity 게임 엔진에서 개발했으며 레이싱 게임뿐만 아니라 다양한 콘텐츠에서 활용할 수 있다.

  • Vector Transformation is a new method unified vector quantization and coding. So far, codebook generation applied to coding was LBG algorithm. But using the advantage of SOFM(Self-Organizing Feature Map) based on neural network can improve a system's performance. In this paper, we generated VTC(Vector Transformation Coding) codebook applied with SOFM algorithm and compare the result for several coding rates with LBG algorithm. The problem of Vector quantization is complicated calculation and codebook generation. So, to solve this problem, we used neural network approach method.

A Study on the Radar Image Generation Method for Ship Handling Simulator

  • This paper proposes a method for generating radar images used in a ship handling simulator, which includes mathematical logics based on radar equations and information from Openflight format files. In order to make radar image much similar to that of real radar in PPI type, the proposed mathematical logic derives radar video signals under the consideration of not only the data form flight format file of simulation scenes, but also geographical radar's position. The proposed method is considered useful to make radar images in ship handling simulator with accuracy and reality.
