A Study on Video Search Method using the Image map (이미지 맵을 이용한 동영상 검색 제공방법에 관한 연구 - IPTV 환경을 중심으로)

  • Watching a program on IPTV among the numerous choices from the internet requires a burden of searching and browsing for a favorite one. This paper introduces a new concept called Mosaic Map and presents how it provides preview information of image map links to other programs. In Mosaic Map the pixels in the still image are used both as shading the background and as thumbnails which can link up with other programs. This kind of contextualized preview of choices can help IPTV users to associate the image with related programs without making visual saccades between watching IPTV and browsing many choices. The experiments showed that the Mosaic Map reduces the time to complete search and browsing, comparing to the legacy menu and web search.

  • Touch interface is widely used in a smartphone instead of a keyboard or a keypad interface that has been adopted in a PC or a featurephone, respectively. Touch interface can recognize a variety of gestures that clearly represent the distinct features of each application's input. This paper analyzes users' gesture of each application captured by the touch interface of a smartphone. Specifically, we extract touch input traces from various application categories such as game, web browser, youtube, image and e-book viewer, video player, camera, and map applications, and then analyzed them. Through this analysis, we observed a certain unique characteristics of each application's touch input, and this can be utilized in various useful areas such as identification of an application user, prevention of running an application by an illegal user, or design of a new interface convenient to a specific user.

  • Recently, Virtual reality parts is applied in various fields of industry. In this paper we developed basic components for virtual robot control system interfaced with real environment. For this, a real robot with virtual interface module is developed and virtual robot of similar image with real robot is created by putting on 3D graphic texture to the real robot. To build an unknown environment to be linked with virtual environment, we proposed a hough transformation based algorithm. Our proposed algorithm consists of navigation module by using fuzzy engine and map building module. Experiments using a developed robot illustrate the method.

  • In this paper, we designed and implemented an Internet Geographic Information System, called IGIS, that supports the client/server architecture connected via the Internet. IGIS is consists of the Map Server and the Map Viewer which can be located at a server site and client sites, respectively. In addition, we used the Common Gateway Interface(CGI) to service the geographic information on the Internet and used a DXF(Data eXchange Format) file as a geographic data in IGIS.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop Water Quality Management System(WQMS), which performs calculating pollutant discharge and forecasting water quality with water pollution model. Operational water quality management requires not only controlling pollutants but acquiring and managing exact information. A GIS software, ArcView was used to enter or edit geographic data and attribute data, and MapObject was used to customize the user interface. PCI, a remote sensing software, was used for deriving land cover classification from 20 m resolution SPOT data by image processing. WQMS has two subsystems, Database Subsystem and Modelling subsystem. Database subsystem consisted of watershed data from digital map, remote sensing data, government reports, census data and so on. Modelling subsystem consisted of NSPLM(NonStorm Pollutant Load Model)-SPLM(Storm Pollutant Load Model). It calculates the amount of pollutant and predicts water quality. This two subsystem was connected through graphic display module. This system has been calibrated and verified by applying to Mokhyun stream watershed.

  • 소셜 미디어(Social Media)란 사람들이 의견, 생각, 경험, 관점 등을 서로 공유하기 위해 사용하는 온라인 툴과 플랫폼을 뜻한다. 여행에서 가장 중요한 정보는 위치와 경로 정보이다. 하지만 우리가 다른 사람들의 여행정보를 검색하여 보면 위치와 경로 정보를 보여주는 방법으로는 지도를 캡처하여 그 위에 직접 경로를 그린 뒤 그림파일로 저장하여 올려서 사진처럼 보여주는 경우가 대부분이며 지도를 제공하는 여행 블로그 사이트에서는 출발 정보와 목적지 정보를 입력하면 지도 위에 목적지와 그 사이를 선으로 연결하여 같이 보여주는 정도의 서비스를 제공한다. 또한 지도 위의 정보와 실질적인 여행 정보, 즉 사진이나 여행자의 메모나 생각 같은 글이 연결되어 보여주지 못한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 사용자가 자신의 여행기를 정리하고 표현하는데 있어서 지도 위에서 자유롭게 사용자의 의도대로 표현할 수 있는 인터페이스를 생성하는 것을 목표로 한다.

Development of Numerical Model for Flood Inundation Analysis in a River with GIS Application

  • FIAS(Flood Inundation Analysis System) using Arc/Info is developed and applied to the Namhan River basin. The DWOPER model is revised and expanded to handle simultaneous multiple overtopping and/or breaking, and to estimate the inundated depth and extents. The model is applied to an actual levee overtopping case, which occurred on August 23∼27, 1995 in the Namhan River. Stage hydrographs inside and outside of the levee are compared, then inundated discharges from overbank spilling are computed. The Graphic User interface is developed with AML. Two- and three-dimensional inundation map by Arc/Info are presented. The computed inundation extends agree with observations in terms of inundated depth and flooded area. The FIAS is useful for the analysis of flood hazards and preparation of inundation map for river basins.

  • This paper presents a fast IP mobility management scheme in vehicular networks where multiple wireless network interfaces are used to perform the fast handover without packet loss and handover latency. In order to do that, the IETF standard HMIPv6 has been extended, where multiple simultaneous tunnels between the HMIPv6 MAP and the mobile gateway are dynamically constructed. The architecture for supporting multiple tunnels has been designed and both mathematical analysis and simulation using NS-2 have been done for performance evaluation.

  • 최근 GIS는 털러 분야에서 다양하게 운용되고 있다 최근에는 인터넷을 통한 정보 시스템의 요구가 급증하고 있으며, 웹 환경에서의 지리정보의 공유로 활용방안에 대한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 특히, 지리정보의 활용을 위해 웹 지도 서비스의 요구가 증대되고 있다. 이를 위해 OGC(Open GIS Consortium)에서는 WMS(Web Map Service) 명세를 제시하고 있다. 그러나, 현재 제시되고 있는 WMS 명세만으로는 최근 발전하고 있는 모바일 환경에서의 적용이 어렵기 때문에 WMS의 인터페이스의 확장이 필요하다. WMS 확장을 위해 본 논문에서는 기존의 WMS를 분석하고 이를 바탕으로 모바일 환경에 적합한 WMS 확장 인터페이스의 방안을 제시한다. 또한, 확장 인터페이스를 바탕으로 모바일 환경을 위한 WMS 구조를 설계하고 개발한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 WMS의 확장 인터페이스 및 이를 기반으로 하는 WMS 구조는 사용자들의 요구에 적합한 WMS 개발에 기초 자료로 사용될 것으로 기대된다.
