  • Recently, researches that are using deep learning technology in various fields are being conducted. The fields include geographic map processing. In this paper, I propose a method to infer where the map area included in the image is. The proposed method generates and learns images including a map, detects map areas from input images, extracts character strings belonging to those map areas, and converts the extracted character strings into coordinates through geocoding to infer the coordinates of the input image. Faster R-CNN was used for learning and map detection. In the experiment, the difference between the center coordinate of the map on the test image and the center coordinate of the detected map is calculated. The median value of the results of the experiment is 0.00158 for longitude and 0.00090 for latitude. In terms of distance, the difference is 141m in the east-west direction and 100m in the north-south direction.

  • The decoding of Turbo-Code relies on the application of a soft input/soft output decoders which can be realized using maximum-a-posteriori(MAP) symbol estimator[l]. Radix-2 MAP decoder can not be used for high speed communications because of a large number of interleaver block size N. This paper proposed a new simple method for radix-4 MAP decoder based on radix-2 MAP decoder in order to reduce the interleave block size. A branch metrics, forward and backward recursive functions are proposed for applying to radix-4 MAP structure with symbol interleaver. Radix-4 MAP decoder shall be illustratively described and its error performance capability shall be compared to conventional radix-2 MAP decoder in AWGN channel.

  • Mobility Anchor Points are used for the mobility management in HMIPv6 networks. Currently a mobile node selects the MAP farthest away from itself as a new MAP among available candidates when it undertakes a macro handoff. With this technique, however, the traffic tends to be concentrated at a MAP with the largest domain size and the communication cost increases due to the distance between the mobile node and the MAP. In this work, we proposed a cost effective MAP selection scheme. When leaving the current MAP domain. the mobile node calculates the optimum MAP domain size to minimize the local mobility cost at the new MAP domain considering mobile node's velocity and packet transmission rate. The mobile node then selects a MAP domain of size close to the optimum domain size calculated among the candidate MAP domains. In this way, it is possible for the mobile node to select an optimal MAP adaptively taking the network and node states into account, thus reducing the communication cost.

  • In an attempt to evaluate the function of MAP kinase in porcine oocytes and to develop a method of the assessment of its activity, myelin basic protein (MBP) was used as a substrate to detect the MAP kinase activity of porcine oocytes which had undergone maturation in vitro. The existence of MAP kinase and MAP kinase kinase (MAPKK) was verified in immature porcine germinal vesicle (GV) oocytes at 0 h culture via Western blotting. Porcine oocytes exhibited a low level of MAP kinase activity during the first 20 h of culture, which increased at 25 h, during which time a breakdown in the nuclear membrane occurred. Significantly higher increases (p<0.05) of MAP kinase activity were detected at 30 h of culture. Using the gel phosphorylation method, MBP was phosphorylated at two positions corresponding to mammalian MAP kinase-extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK 1) (44 kDa) and ERK 2 (42 kDa). The absolute levels of those proteins did not increase during 40 h of culture, suggesting that the detected increase in MAP kinase activity was the result of phosphorylation rather than changes in the total amount of protein. MAPKK and MAP kinase were dephosphorylated in first-stage (MI) meiotic oocytes by the addition of cycloheximide, a protein synthesis inhibitor. These results of this study indicate that the MAP kinase cascade does exists in porcine oocytes and that its activation leads to oocyte maturation.

  • The quality of navigation service is determined by the accuracy of the available data. For existing navigation services, a full map update is provided in order to keep the map data of mobile devices current. As content and services of mobile devices have recently been diversifying, the size of map data managed in mobile devices has increased, reaching several gigabytes in size. It generally takes tens of minutes to write several gigabytes of data into mobile device storage. For traditional navigation systems, a complicated storage structure called a physical storage format (PSF) is used to assure maximum processing performance of map data in mobile devices within limited resources. Consequently, even though modified navigation map data actually affects only a portion of a map, the full map data is updated because partial updates are not possible. In this paper, a navigation system is studied to solve this difficult partial map update problem. The map air update navigation system, which is the result of this study, provides real-time partial map updating using wireless communications.

  • When a mobile node changes a sub network using Mobile IP, it must register its current location to the home agent. If a mobile node is far from its home network, the Binding Update (BU) time delay is longer and affects its connection state. To solve such a BU delay problem, a new component in HMIPv6, called MAP, supports the mobility of mobile node to reduce the signaling delay in handover However, in hierarchical MAP architecture, the register concentration to a specific MAP may be occurred, which affects the network management wholly. In this paper, we propose a MAP selection scheme based on ioad balancing by the mobility factor and the traffic property. By the mobility factor and the traffic property, a mobile node can select a adequate MAP on its mobility factor and traffic characteristic.

  • Digital Contents have been considered as major parts in the areas, such as design, cartoon, video and etc. A number of Digital Contents are made with the works of popular computer program, Photoshop, and used in some courses of making works. Channel is obviously regarded as a high-level function among others in using Photoshop, even though it hinder a lot of users in understanding the way and the principle to use. Channel and Displacement Map have something in common, because they share the infoshade of channel. The infoshade is the information of 256 levels which consists of black and achromatic colors between white and black color. The infoshade of Channel is used as a concept of movement in Displacement Map. Displacement Map analyzes infoshade in 'Displacement map images' and transfer the pixels of original images under the application of displacement map. This means that the infoshade of Channel can be made for the application with characteristic of movement. This study was carried out to analyze the principle of application of infoshade in 'Displacement Map' with Photoshop. Thus, the central aim of this study is not so much studying engineering algorithm as studying and analyzing the principle of Channel's infoshade through studying how the infoshade of channel is applied in the work.

  • It is impossible to call in the cost of map-production from the supply cost because the map produced in NGI is the public property. The aims of this research are to calculate a map manufacture cost and to assess the reasonable map prices with considering public property of map. For these aims, We have calculated the cost according to the scale and the form of paper and digital map, have determined the map supply cost, and have analyzed the situation of map supply and the map circulation market. We propose two alternatives. Firstly, supply price of map is reached the goal price after 6-years(raising ratio 30%) and Secondly, supply price of map is reached the goal price after 3-years(raising ratio 50%) because map supply price raising ratio is very much if research results are reflected after 1-year.

  • Recently, demand for the use of cadastral map is increasing in both public and private area. To use cadastral map in web or mobile environment, construction of the multi-representation database(MRDB) that is the compressed into multiple scale from the original map data is recommended. In this study, the map generalization methodology for the cadastral map by applying overlay with topographic map and polygon generalization technique is suggested. This process is composed of three steps, re-constructing the network data of topographic map, polygon merging of parcel lines according to network degree, and applying line simplification techniques. Proposed methodologies are applied to the cadastral map in Suwon area. The result map was generalized into 1:5,000, 1:20,000, 1:100,000 scale, and data compression ratio was shown in 15% 8% 1% level respectively.
