Denim Brand Development Based on Dongdaemun Fashion Cluster (동대문 패션클러스터를 기반으로 한 데님 브랜드 개발)

  • This study participated in educational programs for young designers and received trainings in sewing technology through government and local government-supported projects led by a from a skilled craftsman. These initiatives aim to revitalize the Dongdaemun fashion cluster, which is currently experiencing stagnation. Our goal is to develop denim brands that reflect the unique regional characteristics stemming from the skilled sewing techniques and denim processes of the Changsin·Sungin regions, the production hubs supporting Dongdaemun, to discover solutions for revitalizing the local industry. For the research method, we collected data by actively participating in support projects related to the Dongdaemun fashion cluster. Additionally, we gathered data by conducting a theoretical review of the sewing industry in the Changsin·Sungin regions and the Dongdaemun fashion cluster. The research results include developing a denim brand collection-eight denim products-based on Changsin-dong's unique denim sewing technology and various denim washing processes acquired through the support project and regional characteristics. Overall, this study is meaningful in presenting a sustainable plan to revitalize the domestic sewing and manufacturing industry, focusing on the Dongdaemun fashion cluster. We achieved this by developing a denim brand that leverages the sewing and washing process technology and the unique regional characteristics of Changsin-dong.

  • Smart Factory refers to a factory that can be controlled by itself with an intelligent factory that improves productivity, quality and customer satisfaction by combining the entire process of manufacturing and production with digital automation solutions. The manufacturing industry around the world is rapidly changing, with Germany, Europe, and the United States at the center. In order to cope with such changes, the Korean government is also implementing a policy to spread the supply of smart factories for small and medium-sized companies, and related ministries and agencies such as the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of SMEs and Venture Business, the Korea Institute of Technology and Information Promotion, and local technoparks, as well as large companies such as Samsung, SK and LG are actively investing in smart manufacturing projects to support smart factories[1]. Factory Automation (FA) construction has many issues regarding the connection of heterogeneous equipment. The most difficult aspect of configuring various communications from various equipment is the reason. Although it may not be known if there are standards or products made up of the same company, it is not easy to build equipment that is old, up-to-date, and different use environments through a series of communications. To solve this problem, we would like to propose a method of communication using Modbus, one of FieldBus, which is one of the many industrial devices of PLC, a representative facility control system, and is used as a communication standard.

  • Roll-to-roll processing holds an integral position within the manufacturing landscape, and its significance reverberates across numerous industries. This versatile technology platform encompasses a diverse array of process methods and accommodates a wide spectrum of material categories, making it a cornerstone of modern production. Within this expansive domain, two commonly employed coating techniques, namely the slot die and gravure coating methods, have earned their prominence for their precision and efficiency in delivering flawless coatings. Additionally, the realm of drying processes relies heavily on thermal drying, infrared (IR) drying, and ultraviolet (UV) drying methods to expedite the transformation of materials from their liquid or semi-liquid states to solid, ready-to-use products. The undeniable importance of roll-to-roll processing lies in its ability to streamline manufacturing processes, reduce costs, and enhance product quality. This article embarks on a comprehensive journey to fathom the depth of this importance by delving into the intricacies of these common roll-to-roll process methods. The Effect of Supply Chain Management Activities and Marketing Capabilities on the Performance of Apparel Firms (의류기업의 공급사슬관리 기반활동과 마케팅 역량이 업무성과에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this research is to examine the level of SCM activity, marketing capability, and firm performance for apparel firms, and to investigate the effect of SCM activities and marketing capabilities for firm performance improvement. This study surveyed domestic apparel manufacturing brands that distribute products nationwide. The data was collected through questionnaires sent to managers or executives in large and middle manufacturing corporations among Korea's listed and registered corporations. The data collection has been carried out from November 10 until December 11, 2006. The questionnaires were transmitted by individual visit, fax, and mail. A total of 98 completed responses were returned, three incomplete responses were discarded. The results were as follows: First, SCM activity was classified into 3 dimensions: structural, logistical, and technological factor. Three dimensions of marketing capability were identified with differentiation, cost-leadership, and operational factor. Firm performance was classified into three dimensions: financial, productivity, and customer satisfaction factor. Second, result of analyzing effects of SCM activities for firm performance improvement, it was found that the improvement of technological activities affected acquirement of financial, productivity, and customer satisfaction performs. Structural activities affected factor of productivity performs. Third, result of analyzing effects of marketing capabilities for firm performance improvement, improvement of differentiation capabilities affected acquirement of financial, customer satisfaction performs. And the improvement of operational capability affected acquirement of financial performs and improvement of cost-leadership capability affected factor of productivity performs.

Development of a Monitoring System for Batch Gas Manufacturing Processes (회분식 가스 제조 공정용 실시간 감시 시스템의 개발)

  • As distributed control systems (DCS) and plant information systems (PIS) are introduced into gas industries, process monitoring systems based on process data have attracted significant interests. However, these technologies have not been fully due to strong nonlinearities of batch processes. The multiway principal component analysis, which has been recently developed, has solved these problems and has been widely used in the industries. However, the lack of statistical background of process operators has been one of major obstacles for maximum utilization of the technology This paper introduces a real time monitoring system for batch gas manufacturing processes that offers a variety of tools that operators can understand and use without serious difficulties. The proposed integrated system covers the whole spectrum of monitoring and diagnosis that include data collection, monitoring and diagnosis. The developed system has been verified to be very effective for monitoring and diagnosis using its application to the construction of monitoring system for a typical industrial batch reactor.

From TMJ to 3D Digital Smile Design with Virtual Patient Dataset for diagnosis and treatment planning (가상환자 데이터세트를 기반으로 악관절과 심미를 고려한 진단 및 치료계획 수립)

  • The virtual patient dataset is a collection of diagnostic data from various sources acquired from a single patient into a coordinate system of three-dimensional visualization. Virtual patient dataset makes it possible to establish a treatment plan, simulate various treatment procedures, and create a treatment planning delivery device. Clinicians can design and simulate a patient's smile on the virtual patient dataset and select the optimal result from the diagnostic process. The selected treatment plan can be delivered identically to the patient using manufacturing techniques such as 3D printing, milling, and injection molding. The delivery of this treatment plan can be linked to the final prosthesis through mockup confirmation through provisional restoration fabrication and delivery in the patient's mouth. In this way, if the diagnostic data superimposition and processing accuracy during the manufacturing process are guaranteed, 3D digital smile design simulated in 3D visualization can be accurately delivered to the real patient. As a clinical application method of the virtual patient dataset, we suggest a decision-making method that can exclude occlusal adjustment treatment from the treatment plan through the digital occlusal pressure analysis. A comparative analysis of whole-body scans before and after temporomandibular joint treatment was suggested for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis patients with temporomandibular joint disease. Occlusal plane and smile aesthetic analysis based on the virtual patient dataset was presented when treating patients with complete dentures.

A Design and Implementation of Chick Incubation System Based on IoT

  • In this paper, we design and implement an Internet of Things (IoT)-based chick incubation system. The system consists of three key components: the IoT incubator, the IoT server system, and the smartphone application. The IoT incubator is composed of an Arduino board, temperature and humidity sensors, a temperature and humidity controller, a ventilation controller, and an egg turning controller. The temperature and humidity sensors measure the temperature and humidity inside the IoT incubator and send the data to the temperature and humidity controller on the Arduino board. Additionally, it provides the function of transmitting temperature, humidity, and control history data to the IoT server via WiFi. It also offers automatic control of ventilation, egg turning, and temperature and humidity on a daily basis. The IoT server system receives data from the incubator, stores it in a database, and provides query data upon request from the smartphone. The smartphone application retrieves historical data through the server and monitors the temperature and humidity data of the IoT incubator in real-time, controlling the IoT incubator to ensure that the set temperature and humidity ranges are maintained. If the temperature and humidity data deviate from the set ranges, it sends alarms and emergency messages to the user. The IoT-based chick incubation system developed in this paper is a low-cost model due to its reduced manufacturing cost, making it highly beneficial for self-sustaining poultry farms.

  • Approximately 8.5 million tons of fly ash and 740,000 tons of briquette ash were produced in 2010. Inefficient recycling of coal ash has been a heavy economic and environmental burden and economical coal ash utilization technologies are required to turn coal ash into valuable resources. In this study the patents and literature were analyzed to understand the present situation of coal ash recycling technologies and to promote utilization of coal ash for producing a non-sintering green cement, geopolymer. The survey was based on the open patents of USA, European Union, Japan and Korea, and the papers in SCI - indexed journals published between 1979 and 2013. Technical key words were used for data collection and noise filtering. Trends of recycling technologies in utilization of coal ash for producing geopolymers were discussed in terms of time periods, countries, companies and various forms of technologies.

Cardiovascular Disease Management among Workers in Small-Sized Enterprise Using Community-Based Approach (지역사회 연계 접근법을 통한 소규모 사업장 근로자의 뇌심혈관질환 관리)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze effects of cardiovascular disease prevention in small scale enterprise using community-based approach. Method: The target work site included 4,050 small scale enterprises which were under 50 in non-manufacturing workplace and total 20,986 employees were enrolled. Data collection was conducted from March to December, 2008 by 46 occupational health nurses who were registered in Korean Association of Occupational Health Nurses. Results: The rate of smoking was decreased from 39.9% to 34.6%, and normal BMI group was increased from 61.6% to 64.0%. Evaluation of post-intervention blood pressure(BP) outcomes revealed that significant reductions in systolic BP and diastolic BP(3.25mmHg and 1.89mmHg, respectively) were achieved. In addition, the amount of reduction in total cholesterol level was $180.89{\pm}28.22mg/dL$ at pre-ntervention and $177.71{\pm}24.73mg/dL$ at post-intervention. Conclusion: Cardiovascular prevention program by community-based approach was an effective strategy for quitting smoking and improving BMI, BP, and cholesterol control.

Brand Equity and Purchase Intention: The Fashion Market in China (상표자산이 구매의도에 미치는 영향: 중국패션시장에서)

  • Purpose - Global trends play a part to change the structure of the fashion industry. In particular, companies attempting to conduct innovative marketing centering on such products as SPA brands are growing into global companies. SPA stands for "Specialty Store Retailer of Private Label Apparel", meaning its activities are fully integrated from manufacturing through sales, including material procurement design, product, distribution, inventory management, and final sales. For this reason, more understanding of individual corporate profitability is very sensitive to consumer's attitudinal changes. The effects that corporate marketing activities on customer lifetime value through brand attitude were analyzed based on a structural equation model. Rust suggested value equity, brand equity, and relationship equity as customer equity driver. The study examines Chinese consumer because China is the fastest growing fashion market in the world. Research design, data, and methodology - The survey targeted Chinese college student age 20s. Only respondents who had purchased SPA brands in the past year were included for this research. A total of 303, except for 47 missing data of 350 distributed questionnaires were included in this research. The questionnaire is consists of six part to measure value, brand, relationship equity, attitude toward brand, purchase intention and demographic characteristics. This research conducted exploratory factor analysis and reliability test. To verify research hypotheses, structural equation model test was conducted. As for customer equity, diversified models in consideration of the scope of acquisition data, a method of collection of data, influencing factor, and predictability were suggested based on a net present value model. However, the history of customer equity study is relatively short, and sufficient empirical analyses have not been conducted, so more integrated analysis is required. In this study, the concept of driver suggested by Rust was applied to figure out the effects that consumer's attitude has on customer equity. The customer equity driver suggested by them consists of brand equity, value equity, and relationship equity. Results - This study reveals that value equity and brand equity have a positive influence on relationship equity. And, relationship equity has a positive influence on purchase intention through brand attitude. However, value equity and brand equity do not influence on brand attitude. Conclusion - The results of this research generated following implications. First, SPA brands need to take advantage of their value equity such as perceived low price and up-to-date fashion style to attract Chinese young consumer. Second, strong brand equity promises dominants position in the competitive market. As Chinese fashion market grows rapidly, SPA brands can consider branding strategy such as flagship store and celebrity marketing enhancing brand image. Third, the core concept of customer equity strategy is to maintain a relationship with their expecting and existing customers. The relationship equity is built by brand equity and value equity. When SPA brands serves product and service meet with individual customers, customers have intimacy to the brands.
