The purpose of the study is to look into the likelihood of private sector enterprises going bankrupt due to COVID-19 pandemic-related issues. The data for this study was taken from the World Bank's Enterprise Survey, which was intended to assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the business sector. This study uses the Ordinal Logit Method to analyze the model with dependent variables having ordinal values. The determinants reflect business performance, innovation, business relationships, and government support. According to the estimation results, a lower probability of business closures, illiquidity, and payment delays are found in businesses that maintain sales growth, operating hours, temporary workers, product portfolio, consumer demand, and input supply. Meanwhile, the increase in online business activities and receiving support from financial institutions and the government do not help businesses reduce the risk. Moreover, higher survival is found in manufacturing and developing countries. This implies the fragility of businesses in the retail and service sectors, especially for mega-enterprises in developed countries. In addition, the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on businesses in Europe and West Asia is less severe than in other regions. The results imply policies to support the private sector during the pandemic, such as increasing labor market flexibility or rapidly implementing supportive policies.
As new types of medical devices are emerging through convergence with advanced technology, innovative technologies are becoming hot issues in health policy because of their disruptiveness. This study analyzed the innovative medical device management systems in the US, China and Korea. Innovative medical devices have been defined differently depending on the country's management system, but in common, they are defined as products that do not exist or have dramatically improved performance compare to existing products by applying innovative technologies. Innovative medical devices have been supported by regulatory authorities during product development and approval processes. While the US and China have more than 300 products designated as innovative medical devices with diverse functions, application fields, and manufacturing countries considering the initial situation of the implementation for the system, Korea has only 16 products, mainly radiology and diagnostic devices and made in Korea only as innovative medical device. In addition, Korea shows the highest market approval rate of innovative medical devices compare to the US and China, and it is necessary to prepare the approval process in consideration of product diversity.
Trade between South Korea and Malaysia has been steadily increasing since the conclusion of the multilateral Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and South Korea. Bilateral FTAs such as Singapore-South Korea, Vietnam-South Korea, and Indonesia-South Korea came into effect to enhance the economic cooperation between South Korea and major ASEAN countries. However, the bilateral FTA between South Korea and Malaysia, known as Republic of Korea-Malaysia FTA, is still under negotiation. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the economic impact of a possible FTA between these two countries. To examine the economic effects of bilateral FTAs, this study analyzes the trade structure and change in the value of trade between Malaysia and South Korea using panel data analysis. Two significant findings were identified by the analysis. First, the Republic of Korea-Malaysia FTA is expected to promote trade and have a positive effect on the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of South Korea. Second, the result of the calculated price elasticity based on substituting figures such as tariff, demand elasticity, and export value is that the value of manufacturing exports is expected to considerably get an increase. Therefore, an early FTA between South Korea and Malaysia would be beneficial for both national economies.
The study sought ways to promote the global recognition of Korean food items. The Korean cuisine is one of the healthiest and well-balanced in the world. But, in contrast to countries including the United States, France, China, Japan, Thailand and Australia that have adopted food promotion and marketing strategies, Korea lacks a similar strategy. Development of indigenous sauces by Korean food manufacturers and processors is one route in the promotion of Korean cuisine. Korean restaurant franchising could also aid in export of Korean food items. The food manufacturing/processing sectors must work in concert with the Korean government to globalize the Korean cuisine. Brand chefs, Korean cuisine seminars and promotional efforts in foreign countries and foreign cooking schools (such as the 'Taste Korea' campaign) are prudent actions.
Purpose - Before the economic reforms, the Chinese communication industry was poorly developed. After China's entering to WTO, the Chinese market were gradually opened, domestic companies will be faced with more and more pressures of competition from the world rival countries. As time goes on, the overseas telecommunications companies will occupy the Chinese market with the opening of China Telecommunications market to outside. So this paper focuses on problems and development methods based on the research about the present situation and development methods of communication industry(communication manufacturing industry and communication manufacturing industry) in China. Research design, data, and methodology - This study analyzed the policies of China's entering to WTO. This paper observed previous researches and made an empirical research on Chinese communication industry based on the governmental policies, strategies, books and previous papers with several kinds of clear data announced formally by China authorities. Results - Most recently, reorganization of the communication industry has brought good opportunities for the development of the communication manufacturing enterprises. This paper analyze policy changes of Chinese communication industry, the status of communication manufacturing industry and communication service industry. Finally, this study for further research analyzes the existing problems and puts forward some practicable measures to solve them. Conclusions - Looking ahead, with China's rapid economic development and steady deepening of reform and opening-up, the Chinese communication industry is faced with an even broader prospect of development. Chinese communication industry will be become the pillar one in national economy after 10 years development. Foreign communication companies accelerated investment and progresses to Chinese information and communication markets. Positive ones are more foreign investment, export increase, domestic innovation, communication industry made steep growth. But negative ones are obstacles of domestic companies' development and jobless rate increase etc. Second communication manufacturing industry made good development, but computer and TV related industry made decline in growth. Third, market sizes of internet and mobile services are growing but the size of wired communication services is downsizing gradually. To overcome them, the studies of components or parts of communication manufacturing industry are needed individually. Second China Unicom, China Telecom, China Mobile etc. are Chinese representatives. The sales volumes are very similar at the beginning, but now they are different and make big differences. So the analysis about, their differences and its impact, are needed.

Uzbekistan, one of the top five cotton-producing countries in the world, primarily focuses its textile and fashion industry on raw cotton exports and the sewing industry. For Uzbekistan to achieve high added value, it is essential for the textile and fashion industry, which is currently at the CMT(cut, make, and trim) stage, to upgrade to OEM (original equipment manufacturing), ODM (original design manufacturing), and OBM (original brand manufacturing). South Korea recognizes Uzbekistan as a potential manufacturing base and trading partner and has invested Official Development Assistance (ODA) funds for the development of Uzbekistan's textiles and apparel sector. This study aims to evaluate Uzbekistan's fashion higher education in the context of global competitiveness and measure the need and prospects for education ODA from the Korean government in this field. Comprehensive investigations, including surveys of academics, industry experts, and government officials, in-depth interviews, and focus group interviews, were conducted to understand Uzbekistan's current fashion education environment. According to the research results, despite the textile and fashion sectors playing a pivotal role in the Uzbek economy, there is room for improvement in the curricula and teaching and learning methods of the fashion higher education programs. This study holds significance as foundational data for establishing education ODA strategies.
This research is about global investment for managing the important position, what Korea is doing in World's main market. Considering there are some differences between developed countries' model and developing countries' model in doing direct overseas investment, they target to get political agreement and develop the new invest plan and strategy by understanding changes of Korean manufacturing companies in direct overseas investment between 2007 and 2012 and analyzing the change of yearly investment motivation factors and acturing factors for investment. The result from this result let us know that company should develop their own idea for their competitive advantage by doing direct overseas investment with the existing the on which convinces the competitive advantage for investing overseas. From the analyzing result, even though it is fairly true that raising wage and getting resources, avoiding customs, and developing alternating industries for export had influenced at the beginning, overseas investing companies' policy will be influenced by the results from studying marketing-pursuit type, which emphasizes to manage trade income and outgo, keeping the balance in the black, ensuring raw materials, local producing and manufacturing by using low-wage people for local sale, and situation for changing investing tendency as service industry.

This research is to analyze spatial characteristics of labor process at the labor properties in footwear industries in Busan Metropolitan area. The production process of a footwear industry is mainly composed of the development and production of goods and design, the development of component parts and materials and the assembly of parts to be end products, and the marketing. Each process inclines to concentrate in a region having the needed labor; therefore, a manufacturing factory for each process attempts to be located at the different places. The critical core functions such as the development of products and design, the development and production of critical component parts and material, and the marketing are carried out by manufacturing companies with the trademark of the products. These functions intend to be located in the Sasang industrial complex in Busan city and Seoul metropolitan area. The function such as the development and production of major component parts and materials needs high skilled technicians and well trained laborer, and inclines to be located in traditional footwear industrial regions. The assembling process is carried out by skilled females and/or unskilled labors, and attempt to be accompanied with critical core functions or outsourcing. This process has been spatially concentrated in the traditional footwear industrial areas; but recently it extends to the developing countries. The development and production of materials and the production of component parts mainly depending on male labors incline to be located in the developed countries for critical core component parts and materials, and to be located in Busan for major components parts and materials. The production of standardized components parts and materials are carried out in the less developed countries.

This paper aims to explain the reasons of manufacturing's reshoring (U-turn) and to suggest the supporting law and policy and the utilization of enterprise architecture (EA) in order to attract reshoring manufacturers into port logistics park. First, this paper found the reasons of reshoring reviewing the previous researches. The reasons are 1) advanced country's manufacturing competitiveness in total production cost compared to the emerging countries such as China, 2) the government policies enhancing the reshoring of their enterprise, and 3) the deterioration of management environment of foreign companies in the emerging countries. Second, this paper reviewed the supporting law and policy of korean government for reshoring manufacurers, and suggested the method to attract them into port logistics park. The current law to support the reshoring manufacturers does not have articles about moving into the port logistics park in order to help global trade from outsourcing countries. Finally, this paper provided the method of utilization of enterprise architecture to help reshoring decision making to get their benefit for the future and collaboration among related government departments with the ministry of maritime affairs and fisheries.
