엔드밀 제작용 연삭숫돌형상과 가공조건 결정을 위한 프로그램 개발 (Development of Software for Determining Grinding Wheel Geometry and Setting Condition in End Mill Manufacturing)

  • As tools for machining precision componants, end mills and ball end mills are widely used. For the end mills have longer cylindrical shape comparing dianeter, they are liable to deflect when machining and induce geometrical error and deterioration of surface roughness. To improve the stiffness and the sharpness of the cutting edge of end mill, a software for manufacturing end mills are developed. The program predicts the result of helical flute grinding and the configuration of cuting edge which is located in cylindrical surface. Furthermore to facilitate the manufacturing end mills using CNC grinding machine, the setting condition which satisfy the geometrical requirements like tool rake angle and stiffness are obtained.

  • In recent years, developments in the semiconductor and electronic industries have brought a rapid increase in the use of large size silicon. However, for many companies, it is hard to produce 400mm or 450mm wafers, because of excesive funds for exchange the equipments. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate 300mm wafer to obtain a better efficiency and a good property rate. Polishing is one of the important methods in manufacturing of Si wafers and in thinning of completed device wafers. This research investigated the surface characteristics that apply variable machining conditions and Taguchi Method was used to obtain more flexible and optimal condition. In this study, the machining conditions have head speed, oscillation speed and polishing time. By using optimum condition, it achieves a ultra precision mirror like surface.

마이크로 광학 패턴이 있는 차량용 후육 라이트 가이드의 CAE 및 사출성형에 관한 기초연구 (A study on CAE and injection molding of automotive thick-walled light guide with micro-optical patterns)

  • In this study, basic research was conducted on manufacturing technology of thick-walled light guide a component that controls the light source of automobile lamps. As a preliminary study for manufacturing the final injection molded parts, a model for analyzing the influence of micro patterns on light guides is presented. The optical characteristics of the light guide were analyzed according to the change of the curvature radius of the micro-optical pattern, and the injection molding characteristics of the light guide according to the change of injection molding conditions were analytically evaluated. It was confirmed that the luminance uniformity improves as the R value decreases for changes in the micro-pattern R value, but it was confirmed that there are technical limitations in actual injection mold core processing and high-replication injection molding. Injection molding analysis showed that cooling channel design is very important compared to general injection molding due to thick-wall characteristics and thickness variation. It was also confirmed that the cooling channel has a great influence on the cycle time and birefringence result due to residual stress. As a result of analyzing the influence of filling time, holding condition, and cooling on shrinkage, it was found that the cooling water temperature has a significant effect on the shrinkage of ultra-fine light guide parts, and the holding condition also has a significant effect.

  • Rapid prototyping technologies have been widely used to reduce the development cost of new products. Manufacturing industries are nowadays characterized by the flexibility and complexity of products. This to due to the rapid development of manufacturing technology and diverse needs of customers. In this paper, the burning condition for getting casting product of resin pattern have been examined experimentally. In generally, the burning conditions have effect on the casting products. Using the direct casting. we directly producted the jewelry.

  • In order to search a method of manufacturing better activated clay in an effcient way, attempt was made to select particularly samples for activation to concentrate the research upon them with varied activation to concentrate the research upon them with varied activation conditions. PVC 재료의 드릴링 특성 (Drilling Characteristics of PVC Materials)

  • This paper develops and evaluates a mechanical machining process which involves drilling on PVS material. According to the material, two treatment experiments were conducted, one involving drilling in a wet condition or using a lubricant and one involving drilling in a dry condition with no lubricant. Drilling in a dry condition showed better performance in terms of the cutting time than in the wet condition. Otherwise, the wet condition has several advantages. The lubricant influenced the burr diameter size and minimized the temperature on the surface of the work piece. During the wet condition drilling process, a smaller burr diameter size was noted as compared to the dry condition. The temperature showed a linear correlation with the drill bit size, where a least-square analysis provided an $R^2$valuewhichexceeded 0.95. The wet condition required more cutting time than the dry condition. In this condition, the water provides a lubrication effect. A thin layer between the cutting edges and the surface of the work piece is formed. The chip formation is affected by the drilling depth. The color on the tips of the chips was darker than in the initial condition. No correlation between the drilling depth and the bore roughness was noted, but the variation of the cutting speed or the RPM influenced the roughness of the bore. The optimum cutting speed ranged from 40 RPM to 45 RPM in the condition which provided the finest roughness surface.

  • This paper describes development of low cost precision machine that has a vacuum chuck. This study mainly aims to find out a cutting condition for maintaining optimum surface condition and to examine cutting characteristics of the precision machine that is equipped by diamond bites. The cutting materials is oxygen free copper. Several experiments were carried out to find out the main factors that affect the surface roughness such as principal axis RPM(rotation per minute), feeding speed, and cutting depth. As a result, we obtain The optimum cutting condition of the developed precision machine.

사출 조건이 사출품의 기계적 성질에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Discharge Condition on Mechanical properties of Injection Moldings)

  • In producing moldings by using an injection mold, several variables such as the metal mold and the condition of injection molding should be selected properly in order to obtain good quality of moldings. In this study, focussed are the mechanical properties of injection moldings, since many researches on injection have been focussed mainly on the molding quality, injection pressure, and bulk temperature but the properties of injection moldings have not been studied extensively. The mechanical properties of present injection moldings can be improved simply by changing the molding material and the injection conditon without changind the metal mold. To have the final products meet the specified molding quality and mechanical properties at the same time, the bulk temperature of injection, pressure variation, volumetric shrinkage, stress, and cooling should be analized by CAE(computer aided engineering) after injection mold design. In this paper, the effects of dischare condition on mechanical properties of injection moldings are studied by testing the moldings which are injected by varying injection conditions.

  • To evaluate the wear characteristics of very thin ceramic coated layer, it is very important to investigate its wear process in great detail. An effective method for investigating the wear of a thin layer is the observation of wear process in microscopic detail, using in-situ system. In this study, based on the SEM Tribosystem as in-situ system, the microscopic wear mode of TiN coatings was investigated in repeated sliding. Consequently, four modes were revealed for TiN coatings: Ploughing, powder formation, flake formation and coating delimitation. Sc(Severity of contact) can clarify transition condition of those microscopic wear modes.

유한요소해석을 이용한 하중조건에 따른 대퇴골의 거동예측 (Predicted the behavior of the femur according to the loading condition using FEM)

  • Falling related injuries are categorized as the most serious and common medical problems experienced by the elderly. Hip joint fracture, one of the most serious consequences of falling in the elderly, occurs in only about 1% of falling. In this study, according to the loading conditions, the analysis is the behavior of the femur. The CT images using the commercial program "Mimics" the bones of three-dimensional CAD data generated, and we will analyze the results of finite element analysis. The boundary conditions on the basis of existing research has been simplified. In this paper, the whole femur was assumed to be isotropic linear elastic material. Predicted the behavior of the femur according to the loading condition, it can be help the development of high-precision artificial bones and joints can be treated with surgery and will be able to perform efficiently.
