협력은 항상 옳은가? 거래 의존성과 비선형 관계를 고려한 공급사슬 협력에 대한 재고찰 (Does it Always Pay to be Collaborative? Supply Chain Collaboration Revisited in the Consideration of Supplier-Buyer Dependence and Curvilinear Relationships)

  • Firms have reexamined and restructured their supply chain based on a long-term and partnership perspective as a firm's competitive advantage increasingly relies on its supply chain capability. A number of scholar works has provided evidence to support the positive effects of supply chain collaboration; however, the relationship between collaboration and performance is still inconclusive. This study refuses to have blinded faith on supply chain collaboration, but rather this paper suggests that the contribution of collaboration to supply chain performance improvement can be limited and vary along the contextual characteristics of a buyer-supplier relationship. Moreover, we argue that the relationship between supply chain collaboration and performance can be curvilinear. This paper provides and test hypotheses regarding the relationship between supply chain collaboration and performance. By using data of the Manufacturing Panel Survey (MPS), this study empirically validates the hypotheses. Overall, the results of the study support our hypotheses about a limited contribution of supply chain collaboration to manufacturing performance, which is opposite to a conventional expectation. Particularly, the effects of supply chain collaboration differ depending on the dimensions of performance such as customer satisfaction, quality, cost, delivery, and flexibility as well as the dependency in the buyer-supplier relationship. Moreover, the results of the study indicate that supply chain collaboration and performance may have curvilinear relationships in a certain context. Through a comprehensive model and empirical evidence, this study presents a better understanding of supply chain collaboration and provokes an open discussion about the effects of collaboration. This study also provides insightful implications for managers of buyers as well as suppliers who wish to foster stronger supply chain performance via a deep buyer-supplier relationship and collaboration.

  • Nowadays, one of the major technical issues in manufacturing is to create an environment to promote collaboration among diverse engineering activities. Collaborative engineering is an innovative approach integrating widely distributed engineering activities through promoting information sharing and actual collaboration. It requires close interactions among developers, suppliers and customers, and consideration of entire product life cycle from concept to disposal. A carefully-designed operating system is crucial for successful collaboration of many different activities in a Networked Virtual Manufacturing System(NVMS). High extensibility, flexibility and efficiency ale the key characteristics requested of an operating system to handle the complexity of the NVMSs. In this paper, we propose a model of the operating system for collaborative engineering using concurrent quasi-procedural method(QPM). QPM is a goal-driven data management technique for distributed and parallel computing environments. It is to be applied to the evaluation of activities to be executed, validities of input data, execution path of activities for a needed output, and expected to greatly improve the productivity of operations by preventing redundant evaluations. Collaboration among many different engineering activities in NVMSs is to be performed by the network of agents that encapsulate the capabilities of both users and their tools.

대기업 공급자관계의 협력활동이 중소기업의 생산역량 및 기업성과에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Collaboration of Large Enterprises in Supplier Relationship on Manufacturing Capability and Performance of SMEs)

  • 본 연구는 대기업의 공급자관계(SR, Supplier Relationship)의 협력활동이 중소기업의 생산역량과 기업성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구이다. 국내 대기업 215개사의 협력업체의 응답결과를 SPSS 21.0 및 AMOS 21.0를 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구모형은 요인 적재치를 이용한 개념 신뢰도와 분산추출지수를 사용하였다. 협력활동과 생산활동 수행도는 협력업체의 생산역량과 성과에 영향을 미친다는 가설을 설정, 대기업과의 수급단계를 조절변수로 사용하였다. 분석결과, 대기업의 협력활동이 협력업체의 생산역량에 미치는 영향은 유의하지 않았다, 수급단계별로 분석한 결과는 다소 차이를 보여주었다. 1차협력업체의 경우, 대기업의 협력활동이 생산역량에 유의한 영향을 나타내며, 2 3차협력 업체의 경우, 협력활동에 의한 영향은 유의하지 않으며, 생산역량과 기업성과는 생산활동수행도에 의해서만 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구의 분석결과를 토대로 우리사회의 핵심과제로 남아있는 중소기업의 경영 및 생존과 관련한 문제에 대해서 대 중소기업 상생에 기반한 내실있는 대기업의 협력활동과 정부의 동반성장정책을 복합적으로 운영할 수 있는 실질적인 동반성장 방향을 제시하고자 한다.

산업간 융합 서비스모델 개발 방법론 연구 (A Study of Development Methodology for Inter-Industry Collaboration Service Model)

  • Today many corporations converge clients' needs and IT technology, and then they are developing new service model in order to survive global situation. The changes of manufacturing industry from simple manufacture to industry for focus on services is getting speeded up, because not only growth of service part but also enlargement in creating value in services is expected. And services through collaboration with knowledge based service and only manufacturing industry is important. In this situation, this thesis is willing to propose methodology for Inter-Industry Collaboration Service Model. The proposed methodology includes procedures which develops service model, plans for Inter-Industry Collaboration Service Model and evaluating framework. Also, this applied case studies. I look forward to offering useful guideline on the proposed methodology in this study to corporations that try to create new service model through Inter-Industry Collaboration Service Model.

SCOR 모형에 기반한 새로운 제조협업의 협력적 성과지표 개발 및 측정 (Development of New Collaborative Key Performance Indicators in Manufacturing Collaboration Based on the SCOR Model)

  • 공급사슬과 같은 제조협업을 성공적으로 관리하기 위해서는 효과적인 협업 성과 측정 방법이 필요하다. 기존에 개발된 성과지표들은 주로 기업 내부 업무 또는 아웃소싱의 성과를 측정하기 위하여 개발되었기 때문에, 공동으로 참여하는 제조협업의 성과를 측정하는데 적합하지 않다. 또한, 비용과 같은 일부 성과지표들은 참여기업 간에 이해가 상충되기 때문에 합의 가능한 협업 성과지표의 개발이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 공급사슬 표준인 SCOR 모형에 기반하여 제조협업에서 양자가 합의할 수 있는 협력적 성과지표(cKPI : collaborative Key Performance Indicators)를 도출하는 방법을 제안하고, 이를 바탕으로 제조협업에 대한 종합적인 성과 만족도를 측정하는 방법을 제시한다. 특히, 기업간에 체결되는 서비스 수준 계약(SLA : Service Level Agreements)의 특성을 반영하기 위하여, Sigmoid 함수를 이용한 성과 만족도 함수를 도입하였다. 본 연구에서 제시된 협력적 성과 측정 및 관리 방법은 점차 확대되고 있는 협업 프로세스에서 상호 합의할 수 있는 정량적 지표를 개발하고 성과를 측정하는 데 활용함으로써 지속적인 제조협업 개선에 적용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Using Features as the Knowledge Carrier for Cross Company Collaboration and Change Management - A design methodology for compressing lead-time from plastic part design to mold making

  • This paper presents a methodology in which the knowledge of design intents and change requests is communicated unambiguously cross collaboration partners through features. The domain of application is focused on the plastic part design for enabling effective collaboration between the product design and plastic mold making. The methodology takes the feature-based design approach and allows design features and knowledge to be reused in plastic injection mold design. It shortens the mold design lead-time, reduces mold design efforts, and enables unambiguous and fast design change management between product and mold designers. These contribute to the reduction of product development cycle time.
