  • This study multi-dimensionally analyzes a sport documentary, All or Nothing: Manchester City, which is an original content on Prime Video, an American Over-The-Top (OTT) platform. Due to the success of South Korean soccer player Heung-min Son who plays Tottenham Hotspur of England, the popularity of the English Premier league is recently the greatest in South Korea along with the fact that soccer has been a popular sport for a long time. This study focuses on the success of the soccer club, Manchester City, which has become a rising star with its huge investment from United Arab Emirates; Manchester City won the league four times since 1992/1993 season. Also, during the 2017/2018 season, the background the documentary, Manchester City won the league title with new records, which shows the greatness of Manchester City. Especially, this study examines the documentary by 1) Story 2) Type of Scene 3) How to watch. Thus, this study explores not only the aspects of team-themed sport documentary that shows how and why Manchester City is excellent, but also the traits of the original content that explores the structure of the media platform.

  • An existing risk diagnosing methodology (RDM) diagnoses corporate risk for product-innovation projects. However, it cannot evaluate and compare the risk levels of multiple alternatives in the product development stage. This paper proposes a modified risk diagnosis method to fill the gap of risk evaluation in selections of innovative product alternatives and the application of the method will be also illustrated by a case problem on alternative selections in electrical dimmer designs. With RDM as the foundation, a modified RDM (MRDM) is proposed to deal with the problem of selecting innovative project alternatives during the early stages of product development. The Bayesian network; a probabilistic graphical model, is adopted to support the risk pre-assessment stage in the MRDM. The MRDM is proposed by incorporating the risk pre-assessment stage into the foundation. By evaluating the engineering design risks in two electrical dimmer switches, an application of the MRDM in product innovation development is successfully exemplified. This paper strengthens the existing methodology for RDM in innovative product development projects to accommodate innovative alternatives. It is advantageous for companies to identify and measure the risks associated in product development so as to plan for appropriate risk mitigation strategies.

  • Nowadays, new product development (NPD) is one of the most crucial factors for business success. The manufacturing firms cannot afford the resources in the long development cycle and the costly redesigns. Good product planning is crucial to ensure the success of NPD, while the Quality Function deployment (QFD) is an effective tool to help the decision makers to determine appropriate product specifications in the product planning stage. Traditionally, in the QFD, the product specifications are determined by a rather subjective evaluation, which is based on the knowledge and experience of the decision makers. In this paper, the traditional QFD methodology is firstly reviewed. An improved Hybrid Quality Function Deployment (HQFD) [MSOfficel] then presented to tackle the shortcomings of traditional QFD methodologies in determining the engineering characteristics. A structured questionnaire to collect and analyze the customer requirements, a methodology to establish a QFD record base and effective case retrieval, and a model to more objectively determine the target values of engineering characteristics are also described.

  • Background: The Mae Kha Canal is one of Chiang Mai's most important waterways. It supports local agriculture, irrigation, and transportation as well as provides stormwater drainage to prevent floods. Due to the unregulated rapid urbanization of the city and lack of efficient waste and wastewater management systems over the past few decades, the canal has become heavily polluted. This study aimed to evaluate the water quality of Mae Kha canal through assessment of the physico-chemical water quality and coliform bacteria. Moreover, benthic macroinvertebrates were samples and assessed using the Biological Monitoring Working Party (BMWPThai) and Average Score Per Taxon (ASPTThai) as biological indices. Results: The physico-chemical showed low dissolved oxygen levels, high levels of ammonia and phosphates, and elevated levels of biochemical oxygen demand, indicating that the water quality had significantly deteriorated. The canal was found to be heavily polluted, with most sites falling into the polluted to very heavily polluted. Coliform bacteria analysis revealed alarmingly high levels of total coliform bacteria and fecal coliform bacteria in the canal. The BMWPThai and ASPTThai scores indicated poor to very poor water quality. Conclusions: The physico-chemical and coliform bacteria indicated that the water quality of the Mae Kha canal had significantly deteriorated. The biological indices also indicated the poor to very poor water quality. This study underscores the urgent need for comprehensive remediation efforts, emphasizing strategic planning, investment, and community engagement to revive the canal's ecological health and water quality.
