WebPierrot : Multimedia Homepage Authoring System Including Web Database (웹삐에로 : 웹 데이터베이스를 포함하는 멀티미디어 홈페이지 저작 시스템)

  • In this paper, we present the development of a system(WebPierrot) that helps end-users to generate home pages with the construction of their corresponding web databases without the web programming technique. It consists of a page editor. a database wizard and a database manager. The page editor creates and modifies multimedia home pages. The database wizard generates databases operated with home pages automatically, and the database manager maintains the database related to the home pages. The page editor has been made based on the DHTML(Dynamic Hypertext Markup Language) and lets users generate multimedia home pages interactively. The database manager creates, updates and manages web databases. The system has the advantage which end-users can create multimedia home pages containing databases without requiring web database programming.

  • The software-defined radio (SDR) is a radio communication technology that can reconfigure necessary application software on a common hardware platform to deal with several kind of radio communication environment. It is necessary for a system that can control and analyze functionalities of a system in order to verify the SCA-based reconfigurable middleware platform, SCARLET that implements the SDR technology. In this paper, we propose and implement the architecture of the waveform manager that is connected with SCARLET and performs management and control functionalities. We verify the performance of the waveform manager by testing each functionality of the overall system that uses the SCARLET middleware platform.

  • Currently there are many standards of network management. They are: SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol - for Internet management), CMIP(Common Management Information Protocol - standardized by ITU-T and ISO), RMON(Remote network MONitoring - for distributed management of the LAN segment), and so on. Especially RMON has created the many concerns in order to manage subnetworks of a large network, but it has negative aspects. For instance, routers or hubs with RMON capability are expensive to a network manager because of adding heavy management cost. Moreover it imposes a heavier burden on network manager, because it must use a network management tool which will be additionally needed with RMON device. This paper proposes a model of PC based RMON Agent system. The RMON Agent system monitors the traffic on LAN segment through the use of a Virtual Device Driver(VxD), based on PC. In term of cost this model will replace the expensive RMON device, and eventually enable a network manager to manage LAN segment more efficiently, due to reduced cost.

  • Nowadays, because IT market expansion and complexity has been progressing and competition has intensified, there is a growth of information system building industries having difficulty through traditional business management methods. A survey was conducted among site personnel (Project Manager PM and Project Participants) to generate an institutional framework to efficiently manage this and project management process support. Through this, the importance of element technology and fragility of software development project management must be understood and an improvement of the element technology must be generated. By using this, a very relevant result that presented a logical basis was obtained in the decision making of the importance of project management and the role of overall project manager and core project management fields.

  • The physical attributes of a computer, such as processor speed, size and access time of memory, and I/O bandwidth, are fixed when the computer is delivered to the user. Under these conditions, the performance of a multi-process system where multiple processes share various resources can be enhanced by monitoring and controlling the relationship between the user processes and the system resources. This paper applies object oriented concept to the performance management and suggests a standard for the management. Resource managers and user processes are defined as managed object and a performance manager is defined as a managing object. A protocol between the user processes and performance manager is designed and attributes and methods of the objects are also defined. Through the standardization, the user processes and the performance manager can be developed independently and the system's performance can also be collectively managed.

  • As a means to activate eco pastoral system in alpine grassland, the government can consider public pastures, which are currently unused, to scale them up into public ranches. Depending on ownership and operation, four management models proposed as follows: 1) Government-Owned and Operated with Balanced Profit and Loss 2) Government-Owned and Operated with Revenue Generation 3) Government-Owned but Privately Operated by Outsourced to Professional Manager 4) Full Privatization (Ownership and Operation by Private Individuals). The study outlined above proposes four management models for the activation of eco pastoral system in alpine grassland. It also suggests methods for the selection and performance evaluation of manager to establish a profitable structure. Additionally, the research provides management methods for the conservation of grazing ecology in pastoral ecosystems. Particularly, the adaptation of tools commonly used in South Korean business sector for the selection and performance evaluation of manager within the system of the proposed management models. This aspect is deemed valuable as it aligns these tools with the specific characteristics of eco pastoral system in alpine grassland, contributing not only to the effective implementation of the models but also to the enhancement of the revenue structure.

A basic study for establishment of specialized dental hygienist system around the duties of dental hygienist (전문치과위생사제도 확립을 위한 기초 조사 연구)

  • With these changes in the environment of dental service, dental hygienists are suggested to change their roles to cope with the changes. Hygienists are putting forth many efforts to promote smooth and efficient dental treatments, and as a practical measure. As a part to cope with such changes. Korea Dental Hygienists Association(KDHA) has prepared the system of Specialized Dental Hygienist and put the system into enforcement through an affiliated organization, Korean Academy of Dental Hygiene. The purpose of this study is to investigate the specialized nurse system in our country's medical environment and the specialized dental hygienist systems in other countries as similar cases comparable to the specialized dental hygienist system in our country and present basic data for the establishment of specialized dental hygienist system. For this study, a survey of dental specialists, such as dentists, dental hygienists and nurses, and patients, has been conducted qualitatively through person-to-person depth interview. The interview questions were related to the need for a specialized dental hygienist system, educational programs, functions and roles, and issues that must be solved for establishment of the system. Based on the interview results, the following conclusions were derived. The specialized dental hygienist system must encourage dental hygienists to possess advanced abilities in clinical practices, present systematic and developmental directions in educational programs, and stimulate specialized dental hygienists to actively work as manager and supervisor, medical health service providers, educators, and researchers. Lastly, for issues that must be solved for the establishment of the system, the duties and jobs of specialized dental hygienists must be defined more concretely, which must be acknowledged by people working in related occupations, citizens and the government. Furthermore, we need to examine the scope of duties of dental hygienists and enact laws and systems to protect the scope. These roles will lead dental hygienists to lay the foundation that allow them to make enthusiastic activities as an oral hygienist and clinician as well as show the way how to act as an educator, a researcher, a manager and an administrator.

  • The advance of wireless telecommunication and observation technologies leads developing sensor and sensor network for serving the context information continuously. Besides, in order to understand and cope with the context awareness based on the sensor network, it is becoming important issue to deal with plentiful data transmitted from various sensors. Therefore, we propose a context awareness system to deal with the plentiful sensor data in a vast area such as the prevention of a forest fire, the warning system for detecting environmental pollution, and the analysis of the traffic information, etc. The proposed system consists of the context acquisition to collect and store various sensor data, the knowledge base to keep context information and context log, the rule manager to process context information depending on user defined rules, and the situation information manager to analysis and recognize the context, etc. The proposed system is implemented for managing renewable energy data management transmitted from a large scale area.

  • In this paper we propose a controllable interrupt timer for haptic control system. haptic control system whihc was divided ito two processes as virtual environment(VE) manager and haptic controller. The VE manager displays the 3D graphic scene at low update rates 25Hz and haptic controller controls the haptic display at high update rates 1000Hz. To archive the accurate update rate we have imple-mented a timer so called "AaccTimer" based on Windows multimedia functions, The proposed "Acc Timer" for haptic control system has been imple- mented in a personal computer with a 6-DOF haptic interface. Experimental results show that our system is robust with respect to tolerances in the control rates and also through the accurate control rate the operator can always feel a stable force.feel a stable force.

  • As computer system and information/communication technology develop rapidly, nowadays CSCW(Computer Supported Collaborative Work) system appears, through which it is available to work on virtual space without any restriction of time and place. Most of Un systems depend on a special network and groupware. The systems of graphics and CAD are not so many because they are characterized by Hardware and application software. In this paper, we propose a web-based collaborative CAD system which can be jointly worked on Internet WWW being independent from any platforms. It can generate and handle objects easily using lava 3D, and it can transmit, print, and store them. The interactive work for designing objects can be also carried out through dialling with each other. This system is executed in the environment of Client/server. Clients connect to the server through lava applet on WWW. The server is implemented by lava application, and it consists of three components : connection manager which controls the contact to users, work manager which keeps viewing in concurrency and provides virtual work space sharing with others, and solid modeler which generates 3D object.
