166Ho-chitosan complex (HC) is a new radiopharmaceutical approved in Korea for liver cancer. In these studies, therapeutic effect against prostate cancer and biodistribution of HC were evaluated in animal models using the technique of intraprostatic administration. For evaluation of the therapeutic effect, noble rats with AIT orthotopic or subcutaneous prostate cancer were used. (omitted)

A 29-year-old man was admitted for abrupt dyspnea and hemoptysis. An echocardiogram revealed severe mitral regurgitation due to papillary muscle rupture for which an emergency mitral valve replacement operation was performed 4 days after admission. Herein, we report our experience with this case along with a review of the literature.

본 연구에서는 기후학적 물수지 방법을 적용하여 우리나라 전역에 대한 습윤 및 건조 상황을 모니터링하는 연구를 수향하였다. 이 기후학적 물수지로부터 생성되는 과잉수분량은 유역에서의 지표면 유출 성분을 반영하여 홍수유출의 유추, 치수 구조물의 설치 및 운영에 관한 지표로 활용할 수 있으며, 부족수분량은 가뭄에 대한 정보를 취득할 수 있음을 알 수있었다. 특히 이러한 두가지 지표를 합성하여 얻어지는 습윤지표는 유역의 습윤상황뿐 만 아니라 건조상황까지도 고려할 수 있으며, 이로부터 2001년 실제 가뭄현상에 대한 분석을 실시한 결과 이 습윤지표가 실제 현상을 잘 반영하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구에서는 유역의 습윤 및 건조상황 감시를 위하여 NOAA/AVHRR자료에 근거한 증발산량 산정결과를 토대로 지표면의 건습을 평가하였으며, 이러한 위성자료의 이용이 가뭄이 되풀이 되고 있는 우리나라에서 가뭄의 조기경보를 위해 효과적인 도구로서 이용될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

The thoracic diaphragm is a muscle tissue separating the thorax and abdomen of a man. In "Somun(素問)", Gyeok(鬲) means diaphragm. Its meaning comes from Gyeok(鬲), a tripod boiler with three separated parts for cooking. In "Yeongchu", Gyeok(膈) is a pictophonetic character which takes the place of Gyeok(鬲). The different uses of the two words probably does not come from the original writing, but result from longtime transformation.

Primary intraosseous carcinoma(PIOC) is defined as a squamous cell carcinoma arising within the jaw, having no initial connection with the oral mucosa. The squamous cell carcinoma within the bone can be presumably developed from residues of the odontogenic epithelium, therefore, it is seen in the jaw only. Metastatic carcinoma from another primary site should be excluded in the diagnosis of Primary Intraosseous Carcinoma. This is a case of 62-year-old man, who initially diagnosed as odontogenic cyst on maxilla, but its pathologic examination was diagnosed as squamous cell carcinoma with odontogenic cyst. We treated this patient with partial maxillectomy, modified radical neck dissection(mRND), and postoperative radiation therapy.

Initially described in 1929, Warthin's tumor is a benign neoplasm predominantly found in the parotid gland of the salivary glands. Warthin's tumor is synonymous for cystadenoma lymphomatosum, adenolymphoma, and cystadenolymphoma. This tumor usually causes minimal pain, but the patient may complain of tinnitus, pain in the ear, or deafness. The tumor is treated with surgical excision, which is easily performed due to the superficial location of the tumor. In our case, a 69-year-old man visited our clinic primarily complaining of swelling in the left parotid gland area. Computed tomography revealed well-defined margins of the tumor in the superficial lobe of the left parotid gland and heterogeneous contrast enhancement. We performed superficial parotidectomy, with the pathological examination confirming Warthin's tumor. We report a typical case of Warthin's tumor and a literature review.

The ultrastructure of germ cells and follicle cells during oogenesis, oocyte degeneration, reproductive cycle, and first sexual maturity in female Cyclina sinensis were investigated for clams collected from Simpo, Jeollabuk-do, Korea, by cytological and histological observations. Vitellogenesis occured by way of endogeous autosynthesis and exogenous heterosynthesis: vitellogensis occurred through a process of autosynthesis, which involves a combined activities of the Golgi complex, mitochondria, and rough endoplasmic reticulum. The process of heterosynthesis involved endocytotic incorporation of extraovarian precursors into the basal region of the early vitellogenic oocytes prior to the formation of vitelline envelope. The follicle cells appear to play an integral role in vitellogenesis and oocyte degeneration, functioning in phagocytosis and digestion of products originating from the degenerated oocytes: these functions can permit the transfer of yolk precursors needed for vitellogenesis. Follicle cells might have a lysosomal system for breakdown and might also resorb phagosomes in the cytoplasm for nutrient storage during oocyte degeneration.

In 2007, Round Robin Test (RRT) on ground response analyses has been conducted by the technical committee of Soil Dynamics and Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering of Korean Geotechnical Society. Total 14 teams have reported 16 different results. This paper discusses the evaluation of ground response dispersion caused by the difference of input ground motions. In order to determine the characteristics of ground response, this study analysed the peak ground acceleration, predominant period, and response spectrum of reported ground surface motions. The results suggest that ground response dispersion due to the difference of input ground motions can be significant.

A transient numerical simulation was conducted to have variation of temperature on an element of resistive Superconducting Fault Current Limiter (SFCL) under quench condition. It is very important engineering information for an optimum design of cryogenic system for cooling of a resistive SFCL element. A bifilar coil for resistive SFCL for 10 MVA system was incorporated as a model in this numerical study. From the numerical simulation result, it was found that the averaged temperature on the shunt and Bi-2212 element at 500 kW, 100 ms was 711.1 K and 198.4 K respectively. The temperature variation with the change of the hot-spot size and time is also obtained. The maximum temperature was continuously increased in all cases until the hot-spot stops at 100ms and it was going down after then. Such as, the details of temperature distribution on the SFCL element obtained from this numerical study and it should be very valuable information on the decision of the cooling capacity of cryogenic system.
