  • In the world of mobile agents, security aspects are extensively being discussed, with strong emphasis on how agents can be protected against malicious hosts and vice versa. This paper discusses methods for protecting an agent's route information from being misused by sites on route interested in gaining insight into the profile of the agent's owner or in obstructing the owner's original goal. Our methods provide visited sites with just a minimum of route information, but on the other hand allow sites to detect modifying attacks of preceding sites. Though, under noncolluding attacks, all methods presented provide a similar level of protection, the performance and the points of time differ when an attack can be detected.

  • Ransomware is malicious software that encrypts the user-related files and data and holds them to ransom. Such attacks have become one of the serious threats to cyberspace. The avoidance techniques that ransomware employs such as obfuscation and/or packing makes it difficult to analyze such programs statically. Although many ransomware detection studies have been conducted, they are limited to a small portion of the attack's characteristics. To this end, this paper proposed a framework for the behavioral-based dynamic analysis of high survivable ransomware (HSR) with integrated valuable feature sets. Term Frequency-Inverse document frequency (TF-IDF) was employed to select the most useful features from the analyzed samples. Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) were utilized to develop and implement a machine learning-based detection model able to recognize certain behavioral traits of high survivable ransomware attacks. Experimental evaluation indicates that the proposed framework achieved an area under the ROC curve of 0.987 and a few false positive rates 0.007. The experimental results indicate that the proposed framework can detect high survivable ransomware in the early stage accurately.

  • The increasing number of subscribers and demand of multiplicity of services has turned Multi-Server Authentication (MSA) into an integral part of remote authentication paradigm. MSA not only offers an efficient mode to register the users by engaging a trusted third party (Registration Centre), but also a cost-effective architecture for service procurement, onwards. Recently, Lu et al.'s scheme demonstrated that Mishra et al.'s scheme is unguarded to perfect forward secrecy compromise, server masquerading, and forgery attacks, and presented a better scheme. However, we discovered that Lu et al.'s scheme is still susceptible to malicious insider attack and non-compliant to perfect forward secrecy. This study presents a critical review on Lu et al.'s scheme and then proposes a secure multi-server authentication scheme. The security properties of contributed work are validated with automated Proverif tool and proved under formal security analysis.

  • IDS can be used as a countermeasure for malicious attacks which cause degrade of network transmission performance by disturbing of MANET routing function. In this paper, effects of IDS for transmission performance on MANET under grayhole attacks which has intrusion objects for a part of transmissions packets, some suggestion for effective IDS will be considered. Computer simulation based on NS-2 is used for performance analysis, performance is measured with VoIP(: Voice over Internet Protocol) as an application service. MOS(: Mean Opinion Score), CCR(: Call Connection Rate) and end-to-end delay is used for performance parameter as standard transmission quality factor for voice transmission.

  • Recently, the security requirements of the embedded system which were not considered when the embedded system is independently deployed are being increased because the embedded system is connected to an internet. The connection to the internet of embedded system is the meaning that it is exposed to the various kinds of external attack and can be a victim to these attacks in anytime. Particularly, it is trend that the user-related information is stored into the personal terminals and/or electrical appliances such as PDA, home gateway for home network, settop boxes and so on. So it is needed the security mechanism which protects the user information from the malicious accesses. Accordingly, the coverage of the system security is being expanded from the general server to the embedded system. And it is not enough that the embedded system supports only its inherent functions and it becomes the essential element to provide the security function to the embedded system. This paper applies the RBAC(role-based access control) function to the embedded linux OS and tries to strengthen the security of the embedded linux OS. RBAC is implemented as a loadable kernel module with LSM(Linux Security Module) security framework for user's flexibility.

  • Recently, malicious attacks for Windows operate through Window API hooking in the Windows Kernel. This paper presents the API hooking attack and protection techniques based on Windows kernel. Also this paper develops a detection tool for Windows API hooking that enables to detect dll files which are operated in the kernel. Proposed tool can detect behaviors that imports from dll files or exports to dll files such as kernel32.dll, snmpapi.dll, ntdll.dll and advapidll.dll, etc.. Test results show that the tool can check name, location, and behavior of API in testing system.

  • The DDoS attacks which are increasing recently must have many zombie PCs before attacking targeted systems by attacker. A zombie PC is infected by attacker's malignant code and may be operated by the his/her special malicious purposes. But most users generally don't know that their PCs are infected and used as zombies by illegal activities covertly. In this paper, we propose a new scheme that decreases vulnerable PCs and isolates them from Internet before being zombie PCs. The proposed scheme point the reputations of connected PCs and decide whether their Internet connections are keeping continuously or not. Also We show the figures how to infect susceptable PCs to zombie PCs, and analyze the decrease effects of DDoS attacks adapted by the proposed scheme with various experiments.

  • Key agreement protocol is a fundamental protocol in cryptography whereby two or more participants can agree on a common conference key in order to communicate securely among themselves. In this situation, the participants can securely send and receive messages with each other. An adversary not having access to the conference key will not be able to decrypt the messages. In this paper, we propose a novel identity-based authenticated multi user key agreement protocol employing a symmetric balanced incomplete block design. Our protocol is built on elliptic curve cryptography and takes advantage of a kind of bilinear map called Weil pairing. The protocol presented can provide an identification (ID)-based authentication service and resist different key attacks. Furthermore, our protocol is efficient and needs only two rounds for generating a common conference key. It is worth noting that the communication cost for generating a conference key in our protocol is only O($\sqrt{n}$) and the computation cost is only O($nm^2$), where $n$ implies the number of participants and m denotes the extension degree of the finite field $F_{p^m}$. In addition, in order to resist the different key attack from malicious participants, our protocol can be further extended to provide the fault tolerant property.

  • The use of malware in cyber threats continues to be used in all ages, and will continue to be a major attack method even if IT technology advances. Therefore, researches for detecting such malicious codes are constantly tried in various ways. Recently, with the development of AI-related technology, many researches related to machine learning have been conducted to detect malware. In this paper, we propose a method to detect malware using machine learning. For machine learning detection, we create a feature around each call interval, ie Time Interval, in which API calls occur among dynamic analysis data, and then apply the result to machine learning techniques.

However, Today's E-mail security threats have being changed intelligently to attack against the specific agency. The threat is a limit to respond. Therefore precise definition and development of security technology is needed to analyze changing environment and technologies of e-mail so that remove fundamental security threat. we proposed Next Generation E-mail System Security Structure and the Next Generation fusion System using authentication As a result, in this study, we development of Next Generation E-mail System Security Structure. This system can protect E-mail user from social engineering hacking technique, spam, virus, malicious code and fabrication.
