성인 여성의 메이크업 라이프스타일에 따른 메이크업 표현과 사용정도에 관한 연구 (A Study on Expression and the Extent of Using Make-up According to the Make-up Lifestyle of Woman)

  • This is a study on expression and the extent of using make-up according to the lifestyle of woman. The purpose of this study is to induce factors which decide the lifestyle of woman, group them, understand groups' demographic characteristic and study on make-up expression and the extent of using make-up according to the lifestyle of groups. This survey is conducted to 611 women and analyzed with SPSS package. The result of a study is as follows: 1. We classified them into 5 factors such as factors of make-up preference, arance-oriented, economy and information-oriented, daily make-up, and interest in make-up with the method of AIO analysis. Then I researched groups on the basis of the mean of those factors. As a result, it is classified as a make-up oriented group, a consciously daily make-up group, a unconcern of make-up group, and a reasonable make-up pursuit group. 2. The demographic characteristic according to the classified lifestyles showed the difference as a result of variance analysis of age, marital status, job, education, and monthly pay. 3. A result of variance analysis on the extent of satisfaction with their faces according to the lifestyle showed the difference of facial satisfaction with complexion, skin, eyes, nose and so on. 4. We analyzed a reason of make-up, a extent of make-up, image to express, the most concerning part for make-up, and the type of cosmetics which people use most in order to know the difference of make-up expression and the extent of using make-up. As a result, its variance showed the difference among groups.

  • A Study on the make-up expression and purchasing behavior of make-up cosmetics based on the lifestyle. The intention of this study is to classily the consumer group based on the lifestyle, to research the characteristics and desire of the each group, and to find out the differences of the make-up expression and purchasing behavior of make-up cosmetics among each group. The result of this study are as follow; 1. We have obtained seven factors out of twenty six lifestyle items by using AIO lifestyle measurement. The seven factors are make-up high involvement factor, brand loyal factor, make-up bases factor, economical and natural beauty oriented factor, impulsive consumption oriented factor, stubborn choice factor, sensitive to others view factor 2. We have formed four groups based on the seven factors. The four groups are impulsive consumption type, professional make-up type, intentional make-up type, basic type. 3. It was examined that women want to express smart, ellegant and intelligent images form the make-up 4. According to the examination of the differences of the purchsing behavior, only the purchase motive, information source and cosmetics purchase amount per month was differentiate among the groups.

공포영화에 나타난 공포 캐릭터의 분장표현 연구 (A Study on Make-up Expression of Horror Character in Horror Movie)

  • The purpose of the study was to examine make-up expression elements of horror characters as an evil spirit, a vampire, a zombie, a monster and a psycho murderer through make-up, focused on horror movies of the United States after1960s. First, an evil spirit was expressed that the pupil grew dim without a focus and the skin was torn by going bad and rot completely. Also, it was expressed that its teeth was changed to pointed canine teeth as a wild beast and its pale and bloodless face showed blood vessels clearly. To express its bloodless and pale skin, air brush was swept into the skin over several times. Its canine tooth was made acryl powder into its shape and was harden to make its shape smooth. Also, it was colored to show people like the real thing. Second, a vampire was expressed by make-up elements as long nails, a sharp canine tooth, a pale skin with a blood vessel and dead eyes. Its rough skin and long nails were manufactured with latex foam, which was colored like the skin. Third, a monster image as a werewolf was expressed by make-up elements as fur, sharp teeth, changed nails and toenails, a rough skin and a face changed to a wolf. Rubber mask and rubber body suit were manufactured as a make-up of special character and so all its body was changed. Fourth, a psycho murderer and body-deformed man were expressed by make-up elements as a distorted mask, swelled-up and deformed skull and face form, terribly deformed body, discolored and hang down skin and teeth with an indeterminate form. Its body and face were manufactured by the foam latex technology according to make-up design as a make-up of special character.

1960년대 한국 여성의 화장 특성 연구 - '여원', '주부생활' 여성지를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Make-up Characteristics and Image of Korean Women in 1960s - focused on monthly womens magazines -)

  • This study aims to investigate how the woman's beauty makeup trend had been changed in 1960s by analyzing the characteristics of woman's make-up in that period. For this study, a lot of documents and papers related to the woman's make-up were collected and reviewed. In particular, to analyze the characteristics of woman's make up trend in 1960s, a lot of women's pictures and makeup-related articles from 143 volumes of woman's magazines such as Yeowon and Jubusaenghwal were collected. Among the 624 pictures, fifty two pictures which were good enough for studying the total face and makeup were used for this study. The period of this study ranges from 1960 through 1969 and the analysis is focused on skin expression, eyebrow, eye shadow, eye line, lipstick, and brusher and through the related articles, the intention and contents of make up. were delivered and found out. The results are as follows. In early 1960s, the woman's make up was characterized by the make up ranging from unnatural and gray skin expression to dense pink skin expression, giving natural and glossy tint onto the skin and in particular putting a bright accent on the eyelid, eye or lip. In the mid-1960s, the make up style expressed skin more naturally, giving more shading on the eyelid, nose and lip, thus having cubic make-up. In the late 1960s, the make up became more refined and harmonized by using colors according to the TPO (time, place and objective) and skin color. The study results show that the women in 1960s pursued the "cute and young looking image" and used the make up to express their images young and cute. In the mid 1960s, the minimalism which pursued the pure and simple make up appeared in US. That trend affected the make up style of Korean women and hence Korean women showed more natural make up style in the mid and late 1960s.

  • Performance art is an integrated genre of different art areas, and make-up is a visual art area to give lively effects to the performance art, which makes actors and actresses changed into the characters of plays. It can be said to be a kind of deliverer of idea to help effectively understand the contents of the performance. When we are in the world abundant in various cultures and innumerable styles of expression of different countries, we should rediscover the value of the beauty of our traditional masks that have represented the emotion and thought of Han nation, which we can find in play culture of our ancestors that has kept our ancestors' value system. That's the way we can get continuous life force and competitive power of our traditional culture. The Korean traditional masks haven't only been for the prevention of bad luck and the prayer of fortune, but also well expressed Korean people's looks, features and personalities according to the roles. They are excellent artistic works in themselves, and many studies have been performed on the analyses and uses of the features of the masks in various fields due to their good expression of different cultural aspects, while the studies in the light of make-up are rarely performed. Therefore, this article aims to analyze the features of the Korean traditional masks and, by using this analysis, to present effective make-up designs in outdoor performances through a stage performance. In addition, this article also tries to present the orientation of make-up as an expression of artistic image, and to expand the expression area of make-up by using the Korean traditional masks in the light of make-up. For this purpose, I examined the related literature and the precedent study materials to find the origin and kinds of the Korean traditional masks, and analyzed the features of the masks. Furthermore, I established the make-up design plan using the material features of the Korean traditional masks by analyzing the characters in actual performance works, and presented the photos of works actually performed.

  • The purpose of this study was to find how hybrid fashion and make-up responses to multiculturalism condition and how expression of hybrid. Today, every culture has taken on the compromise form by means of the cultural difference, variety, and pluralism according to the internationalization and the advance. In accordance with this current of the times, this study observed the hybrid found in the multiculturalism of the 21th century. The expression of hybrid in multiculturalism of contemporary fashion and make up combination of difference. Second, the society development and a generalized knowledge of multiculturalism and hybrid and history of make up. Third, characteristic of fashion about multiculturalism and characteristic of fashion about hybrid classify a divide into five according to fashion trend. Oriental and western of hybrid, the past and the present of hybrid, high society and the lower classes of hybrid, the main current and non mainstreamers of hybrid, the present and the future of hybrid. Fourth, characteristic of make up about multiculturalism and characteristic of make up about hybrid classify a divide into five according to fashion trend. 언어 시각화를 통한 한국의 시대별 고전화장 연구 (A Study of Classical Makeup of the Korean Age by Using Language Visualization)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the visual elements for effectively conveying the make-up method of the Korean history. We will do basic research on language visualization through visual poetry by using a make-up method as a visual expression element. Our research methods consisted of a related literature research, an internet search, and case study methods. The make-up methods of Korean classical make-up through visual poetry consisted of a through literature review. First, make-up methods, cosmetics, jewelry, and hair styles are shown in the classic make-up style of each age. Second, classical make-up visual poetry shows the identity, gender, and character depictions. Third, there were many visual metaphors about the hair types, figures, and hair among the classical make-up methods of each age. I think that this topic is worth researching as an appropriate medium to increase attractiveness. This research is with visual expression elements of the Korea make-up method. This study analyzed the Korean traditional make-up method that expresses and reinterprets visual metaphors. The results of this study can be applied for basic research.

초현실주의 Art Make-up에 관한 연구 -Body Painting 작품제작을 중심으로- (A Study on the Art Make-Up Based on Surrealism -Focus on the creation of body painting works-)

  • 본 연구는 초현실주의적 사조가 현대조형예술에 어떻게 구현되고 있는지를 규명하고 초현실주의의 입장에서 표현한 아트메이크업을 제안하는 데 있다. 또한 초현실주의적 아트메이크업을 표현함으로써 메이크없 또한 예술의 사조와 흐름을 함께하는 예술적 존재라는 사실을 재확인하고자 하는 것에 본 연구의 목적이 있다. 이론고찰에서 얻은 결과를 작품을 통해 이론과 실제를 연결시켰다. 기존의 초현실주의 회화에서 모티브를 착안한 작품과 본 연구자가 초현실적 표현을 시도해 본 작품으로 제목은 다음과 같다. <작품1-DALI's expression>, <작품2-MAGRITTE's expression>, <작품3-ERNST's expression>, <작품4-첼로>, <작품5-ZIPPER>, <작품6-A DROP OF WATER>로 총6점을 제작하였다. 본 연구의 작품제작을 통해 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초현실주의 회화에서 많이 보여지는 소재와 이미지를 응용하여 인체에 구성한 결과 현대적 조형감각과 선 감각이 표출되었다. 둘째, 색이나 표현, 주제, 기법, 재료 등에 구속받지 않고 예술적 이미지를 위한 아트 메이크업의 특성이 표출되었다. 셋째, 극히 주관적인 초현실주의 회화와 이념을 여러 각도로 응용하여 다양한 소재의 메이크업과 흥미로운 표현방법으로 인한 무한한 창작의 가능성을 부여하였다.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in recognition of brand and advertisement image according to the advertisement expression forms of domestic make-up cosmetics. This study was conducted by means of a questionnaire survey of female which age from twenties to the thirties. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency distribution, Percentage, mean, factor analysis, and paired t-test by the SPSS program. The results of this study were as follows. The brand and advertisement image of domestic Make-up cosmetics were classified into seven factors. : Of good quality, high-toned, modern, chic, unique, familiar, stimulative brand and advertisement image. The brand image and advertisement image recognition didn't correspond in general except HERCYNA and ETUDE.

  • 현대 산업사회의 급속적인 발달로 인한 경제적, 물질적 풍요로움은 다양한 문화산업의 발달은 물론, 뷰티산업의 발전을 가져다주었다. 이처럼 뷰티산업은 TV, 광고, 패션잡지, 영화 등의 대중매체의 성장과 더불어 새로운 뷰티 트렌드를 빠르게 대중에게 확대, 형성해 가고 있다. 메이크업 또한 뷰티 트렌드와 함께 지속적으로 변화하고 다양한 표현기법의 활용으로 그 예술적 영역이 더욱 확대되고 있다. 이는 곧 메이크업 일러스트레이션에도 영향을 주어 그 역할이 점차 강조되어 현대 문화의 상황 속에서 대중과의 커뮤니케이션이라는 해석이 확대되면서 새로운 예술의 개념으로 인식되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 뷰티 산업과 대중간의 '유행정보 교환'이라는 중요한 역할을 담당하고 있는 메이크업 일러스트레이션의 다양한 이미지 표현 방법을 분석하여 예술적 가치를 높이고자 하였다. 또한 컴퓨터 그래픽을 활용한 메이크업 일러스트레이션을 제작하여 앞으로의 창작, 연구 활동에 유용한 자료가 되기를 기대한다.
