A Study on the Choice of Landing Port for Large Trawler (대형기저 양륙지 선정에 대한 연구)

  • In the fish industry, the perishabiliy of raw material, saeasonality of catch and diatance between production and consumption combine to cause physical distribution to be a difficult decision problem. In fishery physical distribution, the choice of appropriate landing port is a major problem. This paper deals with transshipment model to determine landing port as intermediate transfer point and the market to which fish should be sent. Transshipment model is useful to determine intermediate transfer point and can be reformulated as LP model. So this study developes transshipment model for korea large trawler ana analized the model output. It can be expended to a realistic problem in order to provide information to port planner and decision maker on the trade-offs between the cost and efficiency of fishery transportation.

  • For analysis of the plates and membranes by numerical or analytical methods, the question of choice of the system of functions satisfying the different boundary conditions remains a major challenge to address. It is to this issue that is dedicated this work based on an approach of choice of combinations of trigonometric functions, which are shape functions of a bended beam with the boundary conditions corresponding to the plate support mode. To do this, the shape functions of beam vibrations for strength analysis of the rectangular plates by Kantorovich-Vlasov's method is considered. Using the properties of quasi-orthogonality of those functions allowed assessing to differential equation for every member of the series. Therefore it's proposed some new forms of integration of the beam functions, in order to simplify the problem.

  • The wires for initial alignment purposes require a combination of excellent strength, excellent springiness, and a long rang of action. The variables in selecting appropriate arches for alignment are the arch wire material, its diameter, and the distance between attachments. The principle that there should be 0.02 inch clearance for initial wires means that an .016 diameter wire is the largest that should be considered for initial alignment in the .018 slot system. The three major possibilities for alignment arches are multistranded steel wires, nickel-titanium wires, and single-stranded steel wires with loops. The excellent choice for initial alignment in .018 bracket is .014 steel wire with loops.

  • The objective of this study is to find out demographic characteristics, motivation to move, housing values, and present housing satisfaction of expected purchasers, so that the results contribute to better planning of the medium size apartments at Guyoung in Ulsan city The field survey on 472 households has been carried out at suburbs of Ulsan. Major findings are as follows : 1) Demographic characteristics, motivation to move, housing values, and present housing satisfaction differ as the size expected purchasers live in at present. 2) To increase the motivation to move to Guyoung, well designed of planning common space, parking area, cultural and welfare facilities is essential. 3) To enhance the satisfaction level, better plan of dinning space and second bathroom is important for the apartments of 20py.s(~$m^2$), and that of family bathroom and utility space for the apartments of 30py.s(~$m^2$).

An Empirical Study on the Housing Affordability of Multi-Family Dwellers

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the housing affordability of multi-family dwelling in Seoul and to systemize the housing expenditure patterns and housing affordability according to household and housing characteristics. Housing expenditures are basically composed of the payments of four major items. including utilities. home alteration and interior furnishing. home mortgage debt. and monthly rent. Housing affordability index as operationally defined in this study is Housing Expenditure-to-Income Ratio (HEIR). The ratios were computed for each of the four housing expenditure items. Data for 465 multi-family dwellers were gathered from the structured questionnaire. The results showed the differences between household and housing characteristics on housing expenditure levels and HEIR. In addition. this differences had influence on future housing choice behavior. The analysis on the variables of housing choice behavior showed the result that user cost considering capital gains were less important. comparing those of early 1990's.

  • The research is intended to satisfy two interesting research purposes: one is to examine activities of both BSC adotion phase and implementation phase under carrying BSC project. The second purpose is to analyze the influence from those activities towards innovating business world. This study was conducted thru online questionnaires via online survey system during 3 months for targeting mainly on business users and consultants. The findings of the study suggest that employee's involvement, BSC information sharing, collaboration cross task related teams have major roles to operate BSC successfully. From findings, KPI choice, top-down goal allocation, budgeting allocation have strong influences on upgrading business innovations. Those businesses like to considering adoption of BSC can benefit from the findings of the research.

  • Decoding the molecular mechanisms underlying axon guidance is key to precise understanding of how complex neural circuits form during neural development. Although substantial progress has been made over the last three decades in identifying numerous axon guidance molecules and their functional roles, little is known about how these guidance molecules collaborate to steer growth cones to their correct targets. Recent studies in Drosophila point to the importance of the combinatorial action of guidance molecules, and further show that selective fasciculation and defasciculation at specific choice points serve as a fundamental strategy for motor axon guidance. Here, I discuss how attractive and repulsive guidance cues cooperate to ensure the recognition of specific choice points that are inextricably linked to selective fasciculation and defasciculation, and correct pathfinding decision-making.

Factors that Affect the choice of the Utilization of Sanhujoriwon among the Postpartal Women (산모들의 산후조리원 이용에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • This study examines the factors that are associated with the choice of the Sanhujoriwon utilization among the Korean postpartal women. Data were collected from 140 postpartal women in 9 hospitals around Seoul. Data were analyzed based on descriptive statistics and chi-square test. The results were as follows: 1. Forty percent of the respondents chose to go to a Sanhujoriwon while they were in a hospital after having given birth to a child. 2. The number of persons who could help a respondent beside her husband showed a statistically significant association with the choice of the Sanhujoriwon utilization. In addition, burden from multiple roles expected after the birth was positively associated with the choice of the Sanhujoriwon utilization. Recommendations by husbands or friends to use the Sanhujoriwon also increased the proportion of the choice of the Sanhujoriwon utilization. 3. Knowledge about the Sanhujoriwon appeared to be an important factor. Having heard about the Sanhujoriwon, an appropriateness of the price, and a positive image of the Sanhujoriwon were positively associated with the choice of the Sanhujoriwon utilization. It was expected that the degree of depressive symptoms and confidence of raising a newborn baby would affect the Sanhujoriwon utilization. This was not the case in this study. Intimacy developed between the postpartal women, their husbands and their relatives as well as parents in-law did not show a statistically significant relationship to the choice of the utilization. Implication of these findings and major findings of this study were discussed.

Positional mapping for foxglove aphid resistance with 180k SNP array in soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.]

  • Foxglove aphid, Aulacorthum solani (Kaltenbach), is a Hemipteran insect that infected a wide variety of plants worldwide and caused serious yield losses in crops. The objective of this study was to identify the putative genes to foxglove aphid resistance in wild soybean, PI 366121 (Glycine soja Sieb. and Zucc.). One hundred and forty-one F4:8 recombinant inbred lines developed from a cross between susceptible variety, Williams 82 and foxglove aphid resistance wild soybean, PI 366121 were used. The two type of resistance response, antibiosis and antixenosis resistance were evaluated through choice and no-choice test, graded by the degree of total plant damage and primary infestation leaf damage; a genome-wide molecular linkage map was constructed with 29,898 single-nucleotide polymorphism markers utilizing a Axiom(R) 180K soyaSNP array. Using inclusive composite interval mapping analysis for foxglove aphid resistance, one major candidate QTL on chromosome 7 was identified. The major QTL on chromosome 7 showed both antixenosis and antibiosis resistance responses. The newly identified major QTL was consistent with previously reported QTL, Raso2, which showed around 5 times narrow down interval range with 8 candidate genes. Furthermore, total 1,115 soybean varieties including Glycine soja and Glycine max were exposed to germplasm screening, and 31 varieties, which showed significant antibiosis type foxglove aphid resistance were identified. This result could be useful in breeding for new foxglove aphid resistant soybean cultivars and developing novel insecticides.

Analysis of Achievement and College Major Choice According to Longitudinal Pattern of Awareness of ICT Literacy and Frequency of Computer Use (컴퓨터 활용능력과 빈도의 종단적 패턴에 따른 학업성취도와 대학전공 선택 분석)

  • In the information society, the ability of learners to use computers to conduct self-directed learning is important. Indeed, the higher the computer's ability to use computers, the more the academic achievement needs to be analyzed. The purpose of this study was to identify longitudinal trajectories of student awareness of ICT literacy and frequency of computer use. We also examined the effects of the longitudinal patterns on academic achievement and college major choice. A non-parametric approach, K-means for longitudinal data(KML) algorithm, was conducted using 9-year longitudinal data from Seoul Education Longitudinal Study (2010-2018). Findings indicated that a pattern presenting a higher awareness of ICT literacy and frequency of computer use showed better academic achievements and was likely to prefer to choose engineering-related majors.
