The sine sweep base excitation test campaign is a major milestone in the process of mechanical qualification of space structures. The objectives of these vibration tests are to qualify the specimen with respect to the dynamic environment induced by the launcher and to demonstrate that the spacecraft FE model is sufficiently well correlated with the test specimen. Dynamic qualification constraints lead to performing base excitation sine tests using a sine sweep over a prescribed frequency range such that at each frequency the response levels at all accelerometers, load cells and strain gages is the same as the steady state response. However, in practice steady state conditions are not always satisfied. If the sweep rate is too high the response levels will be affected by the presence of transients which in turn will have a direct effect on the estimation of modal parameters. A study funded by ESA and AIRBUS D&S was recently carried out in order to investigate the influence of sine sweep rates in actual test conditions. This paper presents the results of this study along with recommendations concerning the choice of methods.

The aims of this study is to analyzed determinants of work-trip satisfaction degrees in six major metropolitan areas. and to derive urban policy implications. As is well -known, the main determinant of travel satisfaction degree is travel time. However, other factors such as travel mode, psychological factor, and priority in residential location choice are also significant ones. The findings imply that transportation problems are deeply related with housing problems in urban areas. This results provides an evidence of the nature of urban problems, i.e. inter-connectiveness among urban problems. Therefore, this study emphasizes that all urban problems should be treated with careful consideration of other related-urban problems.

Aesthetic and cosmetic dentistry is becoming a major source of the dentists practice and source of income. Patients are demanding dentists to improve and enhance their appearance and function by means of aesthetic contouring and orthodontics and are willing to pay for such services. This creates a challenge for the dental profession to gain more knowledge and skill in this important area of their practice. Ceramic and composite veneers provide a comprehensive solution to the dentition that are severely hypoplastic or deeply stained by the ingestion of tetracycline during tooth development. A large number of dental materials and new techniques are now available that will render extremely satisfactory and beautiful solutions to these previously unsightly dentitions. This presentation will present the most commonly used dental materials and techniques of fabrication of composite and porcelain veneers. Using clinical cases, the step by step cavity preparations.Impression taking, laboratory fabrication, clinical try-in and cementation materials and techniques and repairs of broken veneers as well as long term follow up will be presentedesented

The Plan for effective usage of living room must be suggested because families primarily use living room for public space. And from the viewpoint of function and decoration. the kind of furniture. furniture occupancy quantity. and the arrangement of furniture have much affect on using a dwelling space. So this study will suggest basic data for a good furniture usage through experiment using scale down models. To analyze the data. frequency and percentage were used by running SPSS $PC^＋$ program. The major results are as follows. In an experiment using living room and furniture models(Scale 1/20). according to the size of space. TV sizes and furniture occupancy quantity were in proportion to size and space of the living room. Also they chose various types of tea-table and side-tables. In small spaces. subjects chose simple arrangement types (no sofa or I type sofa and cabinet). but in large spaces. they chose \ulcorner type or \ulcorner type sofa and cabinet.

Cystadenocarcinoma of salivary gland is an rare, slow-growing, low-grade malignant neoplasm characterized by cysts and papillary endocystic projections. Major locations of this tumor are parotid glands, and minor salivary glands, while occurrence in submandibular gland is extremely rare. Only few cases have been reported in the literatures. Cystadenicarcinoma behaves in an indolent manner and recurrence is rarely occured, surgical complete excision is considered treatment of choice. We experienced a case of cystadenocarcinoma arising from submandibular gland, so we report this case with a review of literature.

Presently, sleep disorders are rapidly increasing due to sudden social development and lifestyle diversification. Among the various factors contributing to comfortable sleep, bedclothes are a major factor that readily influence the sleeping conditions, as they directly come in contact with the human body. This study therefore researches use and purchasing status of bedclothes by consumers, as well as the subjective satisfaction. This would accordingly help us to understand the consumers' performance needs, and collect basic data to develop bedclothes that assist comfortable sleep. This study used multiple choice questions and a 5-point Likert scale in a survey-style research. The results of the study indicate that consumers prudently considered practicality and durability, as bedclothes are seldom purchased. The most preferred material was cotton, but the use of microfiber, a new material, has also increased. Further, consumers' preferred lightweight bedclothes that displayed excellent water absorption, thermal insulation, durability, detergency, and flexibility. Hence, bedclothes developed according to the results of this study are expected to aid comfortable sleep.

The management of the exposed cardiac pacemaker or its lead is a new challenge to the plastic surgeon. This complication is not rare. Coburn et al. [1972] reported less than 5 percent, but Sowton et al. [1974] showed that over a period of 19 years, in a series of 372 patients, the pacing system had to be removed because of local wound breakdown or infection in 10 percent of the cases. The methods used to treat exposure may vary from removal and re-introduction at anterior site to the rotation of local flaps to cover the exposed pacemaker. Recently we have experienced 6 times of migration and recurrent skin ulcerations without pyogenic infection overlying the pacemaker in one patient. We developed a new technique, anchoring the pacemaker to the clavicle by a wire through the hole of clavicle and by creating a pocket under the pectoralis major muscle. Then we would like to emphasize this operating method could be choice of treatment to prevent the migration of pacemaker and the ulceration of skin when complication of implantation of pacemaker is occurred.

Selection of the best operating rule among a set of alternatives for a multipurpose reservoir system operation requires to evaluate many minor criteria in addition to the major objectives assessed to the system. These problems are sufficiently complex and difficult that they are beyond heuristic decision rules and experiences in case several noncommensurable multiple criteria are included in the evaluation. With the assistance of multicriterion decision analysis techniques, it is possible to select the best one among various alternatives by systematically comparing and ranking the alternatives with respect to the criteria of choice. Evaluation criteria for multipurpose reservoir system operating rules were identified and defined, and the multicriterion decision analysis techniques were applied to evaluate the four existing operating rules of the Chungju multipurpose project according to the identified nine multiple criteria. The application results show that the methodology is very efficient to select the best operation alternative among a finite number of operating rules with many evaluation criteria for a large-scale reservoir system operation.

Micro gas turbines are designed with low turbine inlet temperature and pressure ratio. To overcome the efficiency defect of the simple cycle, adoption of the recuperator is an inevitable choice. In addition to the design performance, we should also pay attention to the off-design performance of gas turbines since they usually operate at part-load conditions lot a considerable amount of their lifetime. This study analyzes off-design performance characteristics of micro gas turbines and addresses the importance of the recuperation process doting the part load operation. Comparative analyses have been performed to evaluate the part load performance differences among various design and operating options : simple vs recuperative cycles, single vs two shaft configurations, various operating strategies for the single shaft configuration, and current vs advanced engines. Major finding is that maintaining high turbine exhaust temperature is crucial for efficient operation of micro gas turbines.

Adenoid cystic carcinoma is a very slowly growing and directly invasive cancer. The treatment of choice is complete surgical resection but if major complications associated with remaining carcinoma occur, aggressive conservative treatment to prevent complication is able to gain long term survival even though remaining carcinoma metastases to other organs. We experienced a case of surgical treatment of uncontrollable fever that caused by multiple lung abscesses due to obstruction of left main bronchus with adenoid cystic carcinoma. The post operative course was uneventful for 4 months to now.
