헬리콥터 유입류 모델에 따른 발사된 로켓의 비행궤적 영향성 및 안전발사 기동영역 해석 연구 (A Study on the Influence of Helicopter Main Rotor Inflow Model upon Launched Rocket Trajectory and Safe Launch Envelope)

  • 본 논문에서는 헬리콥터의 유입류 모델에 따라 헬리콥터에서 발사되는 로켓의 궤적에 대한 영향성을 비행역학 해석을 통해 검토하였다. 무장형상의 비선형 비행역학 해석모델은 UH-60 헬리콥터 형상으로 구성하고 헬리콥터에서 발사되는 발사체의 궤적예측에는 HYDRA 70 로켓을 이용하였다. 다양한 로터 유입류 모델을 사용하여 각각의 모델에 따라 로켓 발사궤적에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 또한 헬리콥터의 다양한 비행조건에 대해 로켓 발사 시뮬레이션 해석을 수행하고 로켓이 로터 디스크 면과 근접하는 위험한 로켓발사 비행영역을 검토하였다.

35 kWh급 플라이휠용 초전도 베어링의 댐핑 특성평가 (Damping Properties of a Superconductor Bearing in a 35 kWh Class Superconductor Flywheel Energy Storage System)

  • Superconductor flywheel energy storage system (SFESs) is an electro-mechanical battery with high energy storage density, long life, and good environmental affinity. SFESs have been developed for application to a regenerative power of train, the storage of distributed power sources such as solar and wind power, and a power quality improvement. As superconductor bearing is completely passive, it is not necessary to control a system elaborately but accurate analysis in mechanical properties of the HTS bearing is very important for application to SFESs. Stiffness and damping properties are the main index for evaluation the capacity of HTS bearings and make it possible to adjust rotordynamic properties while operating the rotor-bearing system. The superconductor bearing consists of a stator containing single grain YBCO bulks, a ring-type permanent magnet rotor with a strong magnetic field that can reach the bulk surface, and a bearing support for assembly to SFESs frame. In this study, we investigated the stiffness and damping properties of superconductor bearings in 35 kWh SFESs. Finally, we found that 35 kWh superconductor bearing has uniform stiffness properties depend on the various orientations of rotor vibration. We discovered total damping coefficient of superconductor bearing is affected by not only magnetic damping in superconductor bulk but also external damping in bearing support. From the results, it is confirmed that the conducted evaluation can considerably improve energy storage efficiency of the SFESs, and these results can be used for the optimal capacity of superconductor bearings of the SFESs.

Signal Processing Algorithm to Reduce RWR Electro-Magnetic Interference with Tail Rotor Blade of Helicopter

  • In the environment where various and complicated threat signals exist, RWR (Radar Warning Receiver), which can warn pilot of the existence of threats, has long been a necessary electronic warfare (EW) system to improve survivability of aircraft. The angle of arrival (AOA) information, the most reliable sorting parameter in the RWR, is measured by means of four-quadrant amplitude comparison direction finding (DF) technique. Each of four antennas (usually spiral antenna) of DF unit covers one of four quadrant zones, with 90 degrees apart with nearby antenna. According to the location of antenna installed in helicopter, RWR is subject to signal loss and interference by helicopter body and structures including tail bumper, rotor blade, and so on, causing a difficulty of detecting hostile emitters. In this paper, the performance degradation caused by signal interference by tail rotor blades has been estimated by measuring amplitude video signals into which RWR converts RF signals in case a part of antenna is screened by real tail rotor blade in anechoic chamber. The results show that corruption of pulse amplitude (PA) is main cause of DF error. We have proposed two algorithms for resolving the interference by tail rotor blades as below: First, expand the AOA group range for pulse grouping at the first signal analysis phase. Second, merge each of pulse trains with the other, that signal parameter except PRI and AOA is similar, after the first signal analysis phase. The presented method makes it possible to use RWR by reducing interference caused by blade screening in case antenna is screened by tail rotor blades.

  • Generally, Slotless PM BLDC drive system is necessary that the three Hall-ICs evenly be distributed around the stator circumference and encoder be installed in case of the 3 phase motor. So, the Hall-ICs are set up in this motor to detect the main flux from the rotor, and the output signal from Hall-ICs is used to drive a power transistor to control the winding current. However, instead of using three Hall-ICs and encoder, we used only two Hall-ICs for the permanent magnet rotor position and for the speed feedback signals, and also for a microcontroller of 16-bit type (80C196KC) with the 3 phase Slotless PM BLDC whose six stator and two rotor designed. Two Hall-IC Hc and $H_B$ are placed on the endplate at 120 degree intervals, and with these elements, we can estimate information of the others phase in sequence through a rotating rotor.

레이저 플라즈마 분광 기법을 이용한 금속 마찰 표면에서 물질전달 측정 (Measurement of Mass Transfer from Metal Friction Surfaces using Laser Plasma Spectroscopy)

  • We quantitatively measured the mass transfer from friction surfaces, specifically brake pads and rotors, using laser plasma spectroscopy. Specifically, we modelled the mass transfer from the pad to the rotor and measured the elemental diffusion intensity distribution in the rotor material using laser plasma spectroscopy. The main elements measured were Cu, Ni, Ti, and Cr, and the distribution of these after transfer was measured as the ratio of the atomic peak and the ion peak of the plasma in the rotor exposed to friction and the surface composition of the rotor and the roughness, respectively. We measured and quantified the diffusion coefficient for each element through the mass transfer model and found that Cr obtained the largest diffusion coefficient (D) of the elements measured based on this system with a value of $1.9484{\times}10^{-15}m^2/s$.

  • Condition monitoring is very important in turbo machinery because single failure could cause critical damages to its plant. So, automatic fault recognition has been one of the main research topics in condition monitoring area. We have used a relatively new fault recognition method, Hidden Markov Model(HMM), for mechanical system. It has been widely used in speech recognition, however, its application to fault recognition of mechanical signal has been very limited despite its good potential. In this paper, discrete HMM(DHMM) was used to recognize the faults of rotor system to study its fault recognition ability. We set up a rotor kit under unbalance and oil whirl conditions and sampled vibration signals of two failure conditions. DHMMS of each failure condition were trained using sampled signals. Next, we changed the setup and the rotating speed of the rotor kit. We sampled vibration signals and each DHMM was applied to these sampled data. It was found that DHMMs trained by data of one rotating speed have shown good fault recognition ability in spite of lack of training data, but DHMMs trained by data of four different rotating speeds have shown better robustness.

  • In general, to send out natural gas via a pipeline network across the nation in LNG terminal, high-pressure cryogenic pump supply highly compressed LNG to high-pressure vaporization facilities. The Number of cryogenic pumps determined the send-out amount in LNG receiving terminal. So it is main equipment at LNG production process and should be maintained on best conditions. In this paper, to find out the cause of high vibration at cryogenic pumps-motor system in LNG terminal, vibration spectrum analysis and motor current signature analysis have been performed together. Through the analysis, motor rotor bar problems are estimated by the vibration analysis and confirmed by the current analysis. So, it is demonstrated through the case study in this paper, how performing vibration analysis and current signature analysis together can reliable diagnosis rotor bar problems in pump-motor system.

  • 본 연구에서는 재난치안무인기 MC-1,2,3 대비 임무능력이 대폭 향상된 임무확장형 무인기 후보인 틸트로터 무인기의 공력형상설계와 성능향상을 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 기존 운영 중인 TR60 틸트로터 무인기의 형상을 근간으로 성능향상을 위하여 동체 및 꼬리날개 형상을 개선하고 나셀에 확장날개를 장착한 새로운 TR5X 개념형상을 설계하고 전산유체해석을 통해 기존 TR60과 공력성능을 비교하였다. 또한 TR5X 전기체 공력데이터를 구축하고 전기체 비행성능해석을 수행하여 목표로 설정된 주요 성능요구도가 만족됨을 확인하였다.

High vibration of cryogenic pumps could be reduced due to the modification of motor rotor.

  • The purpose of this paper is to describe the control system for optimal performance of 2MW gearless PMSG wind turbine system, and to afford some techniques of the algorithm selection and design optimization of the wind turbine control system through analysis of load calculation and control characteristic. Wind turbine control system is composed of the main control system and remote control and monitoring system. The main control system is industrial PC based controller, and the remote control and monitoring system is a server based computer system. The main control system has a supervisory control of the wind turbine with operation procedures and power-speed control through the torque control by pitch angle. There are some applications to optimize the wind turbine system at the starting mode with increasing of rotor speed, and cut-in operating mode to prevent trundling cut-in and cut-out, a gain scheduling of pitch PID controller, torque scheduling and limitation of generation power by temperature limitation or remote command by remote control and monitoring system. Also, the server operation program of the remote control and monitoring system and the design of graphical display are described in this paper.
