주회로차단기 투입전원 위상제어를 위한 지능형 제어기 개발 (A Development of Intelligent Controller for Phase Control in Main Circuit Breaker)

  • 교류 철도차량에 사용되는 주회로차단기 (Main Circuit Breaker)는 전차선 전원을 차량 내 투입 또는 차단하는 기능을 한다. 일반적으로 주회로차단기는 판토그라프와 주변압기 사이에 위치하며, 주회로차단기의 동작시점에 따라 차량에 투입되는 전원의 위상이 변화하게 된다. 투입전원의 위상에 따라 차량 내 돌입전류, 서지전압 등의 형태로 차량 전기장치 내 의도하지 않은 과도현상이 야기될 수 있으므로, 주회로차단기의 동작은 전차선 전원의 위상각에 따라 능동적으로 제어되어야 한다. 하지만 주회로차단기는 동작신호 인가 이후, 실제 개폐 동작 시까지 일정하지 않은 동작지연시간이 존재한다. 따라서 동작 지연시간을 예측하고, 이를 고려하여 주회로차단기를 개폐시점을 제어하는 지능형 제어기가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 주회로차단기의 투입전원 위상 제어를 위하여 동작 메카니즘 및 동작 지연요소를 분석하였다. 그리고 차단기 및 구성품 별 반복동작시험을 통하여 동작 지연시간을 분석하고, 이를 예측하기 위한 이동평균 (Moving Average) 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 또한 지능형 제어기 개발 및 제작을 통하여 제안된 알고리즘을 구현하였으며, 주회로차단기와의 연동시험을 통하여 알고리즘의 성능을 검증하였다.

의료용 SMPS 개발 및 노이즈 감소 대책에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Low Noise Medical SMPS)

  • Switching Mode Power Supply(SMPS)에서 전자파 노이즈 발생의 주된 요인은 스위칭 소자, 2차측 정류 다이오드, 그리고 출력 트랜스포머 및 쵸크 코일의 세부분이다. 본 논문에서는 노이즈 특성을 정량화 하기 어려운 트랜스포머에 초점을 맞추고, 보빈의 형태, 권선 방법에 따른 노이즈를 분석하고 최적 트랜스포머를 설계 하였다. 이들의 비교 분석을 위해 전자파 전도노이즈, 스위칭 소자의 스위칭 파형, 출력의 리플/노이즈 전압, 누설 전류의 4가지 특성을 측정하였다. 이 결과 수직 형태의 보빈과 1ㆍ2차 병렬 샌드위치 권선법을 사용한 트랜스포머의 경우가 가장 좋은 특성을 나타냄을 알 수 있었고, 이를 바탕으로 최적의 트랜스포머를 제안하였다. 전기적 특성과 안전 규격에 대한 실험을 통해 개발된 SMPS가 의료기용 국제 규격인 IEC 601-1을 만족함을 확인하였다.

수용가 냉방부하를 고려한 하절기 주상변압기 최대부하 추정 (Peak Load Estimation of Pole-Transformer in Summer Season Considering the Cooling Load of Customer)

  • In this paper, we propose a method for estimating the peak load of pole-transformer in summer season considering the degree of cooling load possession in customer. The cooling load of customer is selected as the most reliable parameter of peak load in summer season. The proposed estimation method is restricted to the aspect of load management for pole-transformer. The main concept of proposed method is that the error of peak load estimation using load regression equation reduces with considering the degree of cooling load possession in customer. We propose an index for estimation of cooling load possession in each customer. The proposed index is defined as cooling load possession in customer (CLPC) and obtained from the increment of monthly electric energy. The membership function for deciding the uncertainty of cooling load possession in customer is used. The database of pole-transformer in Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) is used for case studies. Through the case studies, we verify that the proposed method reduces the error of peak load estimation than the conventional method in domestic.

고온초전도 변압기용 극저온 절연기술 (Cryogenic Insulation Technique for HTS Transformer)

  • In the response to the demand for electrical energy , much effort was given to develop and commercialize high temperature superconducting (HTS) power equipments has been made around the world. Especially, HTS transformer is one of the most promising devices . but the cryogenic insulation technology should be established during development Hence many types of dielectric tests should be carried out to understand the dielectric phenomena at cryogenic temperature and to gather various dielectric data. Among the many types dielectric tests . the characteristic of barrier effect were conducted using simulated electrode after analysing the insulating configuration of HTS transformer main winding. The influence of a barrier on the dielectric strength was measured according to the position of the harriet the number of the barrier and thickness or the barrier. It was shown that the effectiveness . namely the ratio of the breakdown voltage in presence of barrier to the voltage without barrier, is highest when the barrier is placed at the needle electrode side. On the contrary, in the case of having the barrier between the electrodes, the harrier was placed between the electrodes the characteristic was even improved slightly.

A Protection Circuit for the Power Supply of a Gas Discharge Lamp

  • In order to drive gas discharge lamps, DC-AC converters with a LCC resonant tank, whose output voltage is adjusted by a variable frequency control are frequently used. However, when they are activated by varying the operating frequency, converters are frequently damaged by unstable operation, due to the rising and falling of the operating frequency near the resonant frequency. To solve this problem, a simple protection circuit for the power supply of a gas discharge lamp is proposed in this paper. This circuit senses the primary current of the main transformer. Using this protection circuit, the operating frequency of the lamp driving inverter system is kept close to and on the right side of the resonant frequency and the inverter is always operated in the ZVS condition. The resulting stable variable frequency operation allows various gas discharge lamps to be tested without the risk of damaging the main switches, because the protection circuit can protect the power MOSFETs of bridge converters from abnormal conditions. The validity and effectiveness of the proposed protection circuit are verified through the experimental results.

  • In this paper, an isolated ZVS-PWM boost converter is proposed for single stage line conversion. For power factor correction, we used the half bridge topology at the primary side of isolation transformer permitting switching devices to operate under ZVS by using circuit parastics and operating at a fixed duty ratio near 50%. Thus the relatively continuous input current distortion and small size input filter are also achievable. The ZVS-PWM boost operation of the proposed converter can be achieved by using the boost inductor $L_f$, main switch $Q_3$, and simple auxiliary circuit at the secondary side of isolation transformer. The secondary side circuit differ from a conventional PWM boost converter by introduction a simple auxiliary circuit. The auxiliary circuit is actived only during a short switching transition time to create the ZVS condition for the main switch as that of the ZVT-PWM boost converter. With a single stage, it is possible to achieve a sinusoidal line current at unity power factor as well as the isolated 48V DC output. Comparing to the two stage schemes, overall effiency of the proposed converter is highly improved due to the effective ZVS of all devices as well as single stage power conversion. Thus, it can be operated at high switching frequency allowing use of small size input filter. Minimum voltage and current stress make it high power application possible.

EMTP를 이용한 철도차량용 주변압기 고압권선의 공진특성 분석 (Analysis of Resonant Characteristics in High Voltage Windings of Main Transformer for Railway Vehicle using EMTP)

  • 철도차량용 주변압기 고압권선은 고압인통선에 유기되는 이상전압과 내부공진을 발생 시킬 수 있는 다양한 주파수 대역의 고유주파수를 가진다. 공장시험은 다양한 파형과 지속시간을 지닌 이상전압의 여자가능성을 판단하는데 한계가 있다. 본 연구는 전자계과도해석프로그램(이하 EMTP)을 이용하여 고압권선 모델을 설계하고 초기 전압분포와 전압-주파수 관계 측면에서 내부공진특성을 모의분석한다. 턴 단위의 집중매개변수는 변압기 형상정보부터 계산되며, 각 레이어 단위로 합산된 서브모델은 네트워크 모델로 결합되어 EMTP의 라이브러리를 통해 구현한다. 사례연구는 주파수 변동에 따른 레이어 단위의 전압-주파수 관계 특성과 시계열 영역에서 전압 확대 및 분포 양상을 보여준다.

Current Source ZCS PFM DC-DC Converter for Magnetron Power Supply

  • This paper presents the design of zero current switching ZCS pulse frequency modulation type DC-DC converter for magnetron power supply. A magnetron serving as the microwave source in a microwave oven is driven by a switch mode power supply (SMPS). SMPSs have the advantages of improved efficiency, reduced size and weight, regulation and the ability to operate directly from the converter DC bus. The demands of the load system and the design of the power supply required to produce constant power at 4[kV]. A magnetron power supply requires the ability to limit the load current under short circuit conditions. The current source series resonant converter is a circuit configuration which can achieve this. The main features of the proposed converter are an inherent protection against a short circuit at the output, a high voltage gain and zero current switching over a large range of output power. These characteristics make it a viable choice for the implementation of a high voltage magnetron power supply.

Selection of Transformer for the Augmentation of an Existing AIS EHV Substation in Hilly Terrain at 3000m+ Altitude

  • Augmentation of existing EHV substations located in hilly terrain and at high altitude require many different considerations as compared to substations located in plain areas and at lower altitude. Owing to high altitude and steep terrain, meticulous engineering and preparations are required, considering the actual available space at the existing substation. Historical fault events too must be considered to enhance reliability and performance of the substation equipment. This paper proposes ways to augment the existing 2 banks of 20MVA, 220/66kV power transformers ($3{\times}6.67MVA$, single-phase) to $2{\times}50$/63MVA, 220/66kV power transformers to meet continuously increasing demand of the capital city over the next 20 years. Upgrading and augmentation of existing substations, especially the main transformers and associated equipment, require replacement with minimum or no disturbance to the existing power supply system. Considerations should also be made during engineering and design, the operational flexibilities, maintenance aspects, future expandability and value addition, in terms of reliability and space usage of the existing substation.

전기자동차용 충전기의 가변출력 및 병렬운전 제어 (Variable Output and Parallel Operation Control of EV Charger)

  • This research paper describes the development of battery charger with a variable output voltage capacity for charging the batteries used in electrical vehicles. The voltage and current accordingly is control via the buck converter that receives three phase current at primary side and fed to bridge rectifier which is comprised of full bridge converter and HFTR(High Frequency Transformer) for isolation and a square wave AC output. The transformer primary side is in series to divide certain charging current and the secondary side is comprised of six fix transformers so that they can generate certain amount of power and various output voltage through relay connection using 6 DC outputs. Moreover, all parallel connected full bridge serial resonant converter communicate together with upper(main) controller. The constructed structure is verified by conducting the test on PSIM as well as experimentally.
