Implementation of Effective Visualization Methods for Sensor Data Analysis (센서데이터 분석을 위한 효율적인 가시화 기법의 구현)

  • 본 논문에서는 MFL(Magnetic flux leckage) 피그(PIG : Pipeline Inspection Gauge)에서 획득된 센서데이터의 분석을 위한 가시화 기법의 구현을 소개한다. MFL피그는 배관 내부에 삽입되어 배관의 결함이나 특징정보를 파악하기 위해 사용되는 장비로, 다양한 종류의 센서를 지니고 있으며, 각 센서에서 나온 값들은 피그에 탑재된 저장장치에 빠른 샘플링 속도로 저장된다. 분석가는 피그에 저장된 데이터를 가시화 도구를 사용하여, 피그에 샘플링 된 데이터를 통해 배관의 용접부위나 결함과 같은 특징정보를 찾아야 하고, 특징정보인 부분과 그렇지 않은 부분을 쉽게 구별 할 수 있어야 한다. 하지만 센서의 값에 따라 색상에 맵핑하여 보여주는 2차원 가시화 기법만으로는 효율적인 분석이 어렵다. 본 논문은 이를 극복하기 위하여, 센서 값에 맵핑되는 색상 스펙트럼 편집 및 기본 값 조정 기능을 제안한다.

  • The persistent current mode operation of HTS coils is one of the key technologies required for very high-field MRI magnets composed of LTS and HTS coils. But to date, the fabrication of persistent current mode system using HTS is not investigated well. In this paper, we fabricated the magnet and PCS using by BSCCO-2223 tape and jointed them with solder. The current decay behavior of the circuit was measured in liquid nitrogen by monitoring the magnetic field in the centre of magnet with a Hall sensor. To enhance the characteristic of persistent current mode system, superconducting joint method should be investigated.

Development of Hovering AUV Test-bed for Underwater Explorations and Operations

  • This paper describes the design and control of a hovering AUV test-bed and analyzes the dynamic performance of the vehicle using simulation programs. The main purpose of this vehicle is to carry out fundamental tests of its station keeping, attitude control, and desired position tracking. Its configuration is similar to the general appearance of an ROV for underwater operations, and its dimensions are $0.75m{\times}0.5m{\times}0.5m$. It has four 450-W thrusters for longitudinal/lateral/vertical propulsion and is equipped with a pressure sensor for measuring the water depth and a magnetic compass for measuring its heading angle. The navigation of the vehicle is controlled by an onboard Pentium III-class computer, which runs with the help of the Windows XP operating system. This provides an appropriate environment for developing the various algorithms needed for developing and advancing a hovering AUV.

  • GPS(global position system)은 특별한 표식이 없는 외부환경에서 위치 측정을 위한 가장 좋은 가능성을 보여주고 있다 그러나 현재 GPS의 오차에 의해서 위치 측정은 불가능하다. 또한 속도가 느린 이동로봇의 방향정보를 얻는 것도 힘들다. 본 논문에서는 지자기 센서를 이용하여 이동로봇의 방향정보를 이용하고 이동로봇의 인코더와 GPS를 이용하여 보다 정밀한 위치 측정이 가능하게 하였다. 이를 바탕으로 이동로봇의 지도를 작성하고 이동로봇의 안전한 경로를 신경망을 이용하여 학습하여 고장이나 충돌회피에 의해 이동로봇이 위험한 경로로 이동하는 것을 사전에 방지하였다. 또한 지도와 획득한 위치정보를 바탕으로 특정위치에서 임무를 수행함으로써 이동로봇이 외부환경에서의 방범활동이나 산업현장에 적용될 수 있음을 보이고자 한다.

  • This paper describes analysis and pattern recognition techniques for Partial Discharge(PD) signals in Gas Insulated Switchgears (GIS). Detection of PD signals is one of the most important factors in the predictive maintenance of GIS. One of the methods of detection is electro magnetic wave detection within the Ultra High Frequency (UHF) band (300MHz $\~$ 3GHz). In this paper, PD activity simulation is generated using three types of artificial defects, which were detected by a UHF PD sensor installed in the GIS. The detected PD signals were performed on three-dimensional phi-q-n analysis. Finally, parameters were calculated and an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) was applied for PD pattern recognition. As a result, it was possible to discriminate and classify the defects.

  • We propose portable equipment that monitors a current and potential on high-potential power transmission lines.   • In recent years, grinding techniques for precision machining of brittle materials used in electric, optical and magnetic parts have been improved by using superabrasive wheel and precision grinding machine. The completion of optimum dressing of superabrasive wheel makes possible the effective precision grinding of brittle materials. But the present dressing system cannot have control of optimum dressing of the superabrasive wheel. This study has proposed a new optimum in-process electrolytic dressing system. This system can carry out optimum in-process dressing of superabrasive wheel, and give very effective control according to gap increase.

  • This paper describes the development of a test-bed vehicle named TAUV which can be a tool to evaluate the performance of a new control algorithm, operating software and the characteristics of sensors for an AUV. The test-bed AUV is designed to operate at depth of ten meters. It is 19.5kg in air and neural buoyancy in water and the dimension is $535{\times}400{\times}102mm$. TAUV is equipped with a magnetic compass, a biazial inclinometer, a rate gyro, a pressure sensor and an altitude sonae for measuring the motion of the vehicle. Two horizoltal thursters and two elevators are installed in order to propel and control the AUV. This paper persents the control system of TAUV which is based on a 16 bit single-chip microprocessor, 80c196kc, and the software architecture for the operating system. Experimental results are included to verify the performance of the TAUV.

  • For a given brushless DC linear motor, we suggest the numerical prediction methods to analyze it's thrust characteristics. First, we calculate the magnetic flux density by the finite element method, and we then compute the maximum thrust with three computational methods - a Lorentz equation, a Maxwell stress method and a virtual work method. To confirm the accuracy of the computational methods, we measure the thrust of the linear motor made by our laboratory with a force-torque sensor. Also, we calculate the thrust by the measured back electromotive force. To choose the appropriate method for a specified application, we compare the maximum thrusts of the computational method and the calculation by the back electromotive force with the measured one. We conclude that the Maxwell stress method is turned out the best because it has the most accurate results among three computational methods and it is more convenient than the calculation method by the back electromotive force.

  • This paper deals with characteristic analysis of Linear Switched Reluctance Motor (LSRM) according to switching condition. When approved current in each phase by decided position, we made sure current and voltage according to turn-on, turn-off. In dynamic simulation of LSRM, through an experiment, we decided turn-on position of inductance profile. Also, we presented dynamic characteristic analysis model which is consisted at motor and sensor signal part, etc., and substitute circuit constant that get using magnetic equivalent circuit method, we confirmed current and voltage waveform.
