$MnBi_{1-x}Ti_x$ (x = 0, 0.4, 0.7, 1) alloys were prepared by arc-melting, followed by heat treatment. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) were used to measure and investigate the phase structure and magnetic properties. The temperature dependent magnetization curves indicate that the phase transitions between LTP and HTP MnBi occur with heating or cooling in $MnBi_{1-x}Ti_x$ ($x{\leq}0.7$) samples. However, MnTi samples are in $Mn_2Ti$ single-phase, with very low magnetic properties. Furthermore, the coercivity exhibits a positive temperature coefficient. The results show that the optimal content of Ti for the coercivity of $MnBi_{1-x}Ti_x$ alloy is x = 0.4. For MnBi sample, the coercivity reaches a maximum value of 1.13 T at 550 K. However, the remanence and energy product show apparent decrease with the addition of Ti in $MnBi_{1-x}Ti_x$ alloys.
The Magnetization behaviour has been measured for amorphous $Fe_{80-x}Mn_xZr_{10}$ (x = 4,6,8,10) alloys. The Curie temperature decreased from 236 K to 195 K with increasing Mn concentration (x = 4 to x = 10). The magnetization measurements were conducted at temperatures above the Curie temperature in the paramagnetic region. In all samples, the magnetic properties showed superparamagnetic behavior above $T_c$ where the mean magnetic moment of the superparamagnetic spin clusters decreased with increasing temperature. A large magnetic entropy change, ${\Delta}S_M$, which is calculated from H vs M curves associated with the ferromagnetic-paramagnetic transitions in amorphous, has been observed. With Mn concentration increasing, ${\Delta}S_M$ decreases 1.04, 0.95, 0.87 J/kg K at 222, 210, 195 K (the Curie temperature), respectively.
The polycrystalline sample of $Ba_2Co_{1.5}Mg_{0.5}Fe_{11.88}Ga_{0.12}O_{22}$ Y-type hexaferrite, doped with Ga-cation, was prepared by using the solid-state reaction method. The crystalline structure of sample was investigated by x-ray diffractometer (XRD), and the magnetic properties of sample were measured by vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), and $M{\ddot{o}}ssbauer$ spectrometer. The crystal structure of prepared sample was determined to be rhombohedral with space group R-3m. From the temperature dependence of the magnetization curves under 100 Oe between 4.2 and 740 K, two temperature-dependent magnetic transitions occurred in the $Ba_2Co_{1.5}Mg_{0.5}Fe_{11.88}Ga_{0.12}O_{22}$ sample. $M{\ddot{o}}ssbauer$ spectra of the sample were analyzed at various temperatures ranging from 4.2 to 620 K, and the $Ba_2Co_{1.5}Mg_{0.5}Fe_{11.88}Ga_{0.12}O_{22}$ sample showed abrupt changes in $H_{hf}$ and $E_Q$ at 200 K, indicating the spin transition effect. We have also determined the magnetic transition temperature $T_C$, in addition to the temperature dependent magnetization and ZVC measurements.
Polycrystalline $BaSrCo_2(Fe_{1-x}Al_x)_{12}O_{22}$ (x = 0.00, 0.01, 0.05, and 0.10) samples were synthesized by polymerizable complex method. Based on the Rietveld refinement, crystal structures of the samples were found to be single-phased and determined to be rhombohedral with space group of R-3m. The hysteresis curves of the samples were measured under 15 kOe at various temperatures ranging from 4.2 and 295 K. It shows that they were not saturated with increasing Al ion contents due to the reduction of magnetic anisotropy. $M_{15kOe}$ was decreased with increasing Al ions contents. We expect that non-magnetic Al ions preferentially occupy the up-spin site of $18h_{VI}$, $3b_{VI}$, and $3a_{VI}$. The $M{\ddot{o}}ssbauer$ spectra of the samples were obtained at 295 K, and analyzed with sixsextets for Fe sites corresponding to the Y-type hexaferrite crystallography sites. The <$E_Q$> shows abrupt changes, and the <$H_{hf}$> shows abrupt decreases around x = 0.05 due to the coexistence of magnetic secondary phases.
Co/Pd multilayered thin films with various ratios of Co sublayers to Pd sublayers(nCo/nPd = 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 5/4) were fabricated at different substrate temperatures($R.\;T.,\;100,\;150,\;200\;^{\circ}C$) with the conventional vacuum evaporation method, and their Hall voltage hysteresis curves were measured. These Hall curves were decomposed on the basis of the superpose of the transverse Hall effect term from the magnetizations of Co and Pd sublayers and the magnetoresistivity term, by the optimal fitting method. In the results, both of the ferromagnetic and anti ferromagnetic states coexisted through whole samples, and the uniaxial or unidirectional easy axis type Hall hysteresis curves occured were dependent upon the effects of the exchange anisotropy between both magnetic states and the domain wall pinning by the antiferromagnet inclusions.
We completed four color light curves of the near-contact binary CN And during three nights from September to December 2004 using the 61-cm reflector and BV RI filters at Sobaeksan Observatory. We determined four new times of minimum light (two timings for primary eclipse, two for secondary). Newly obtained BV RI light curves and the radial velocity curves from Rucinski et a1. (2000) were simultaneously analyzed to derive the system parameters of CN And. We used the semi-detached mode 4 of the 2003-version of the Wilson-Devinney binary model, and interpreted the asymmetry of the light curve by introducing two spots; a cool spot on the primary component and a hot spot on the secondary component. New photometric parameters are not much different from those of Cicek et a1. (2005), and it is considered that the system is in the era of broken contact. From the orbital period study with all available timings including our data, we found a continous period decrease with a rate of $P_{obs}=--1.82{\times}10^{-7}\;d\;yr^{-1}$ that can be explained with two possible mechanisms. We think the most likely cause of the period decrease is a thermal mass transfer from the primary to the secondary component, rather than angular momentum loss due to a magnetic stellar wind.
UV Psc is a typical RS CVn type system undergoing dynamic chromosphere activity. We performed photometric observations of the system in 2015 and secured new BVR light curves showing well-defined photometric waves. In this paper, we analyzed the light curves using Wilson-Devinney binary code and investigated the orbital period of the system. The combination of our light curve synthesis with the spectroscopic solution developed by previous investigators yielded the absolute parameters as: $M_1=1.104{\pm}0.042M_{\odot}$, $R_1=1.165{\pm}0.025R_{\odot}$, and $L_1=1.361{\pm} 0.041L_{\odot}$ for the primary star, and $M_2=0.809{\pm}0.082M_{\odot}$, $R_2=0.858{\pm}0.018R_{\odot}$, and $L_2=0.339 {\pm}0.010L_{\odot}$ for the secondary star. The eclipse timing diagram for accurate CCD and photoelectric timings showed that the orbital period may vary either in a downward parabolic manner or a quasi-sinusoidal pattern. If the latter is adopted as a probable pattern for the period change, a more plausible account for the cyclic variation may be the light time effect caused by a circumbinary object rather than an Applegate-mechanism occurring via variable surface magnetic field strengths.
This paper describes a point matching method that is based on an expansion of the electromagnetic field in terms of a series of Bessel and modified Bessel functions multiplied by trigonometric functions. In this method, the electric and magnetic fields inside the waveguide core are matched to those outside the core at matching points on the boundary to yield matrix equations. As an example applying this method, the paper presents the results of the computation in the form of curves of the propagation constants in a semicircular optical waveguide, be formed by annealing for reduced insertion(radiation) loss when connected to optical fiber. The propagation curves are presented in a form of refractive index independent. Also, it presents relative energy distributions between inside the core and outside the core of various modes and presents field distributions.
The Preisach model neds a density function or Everett function for the hysterisis operator to simulate the hysteresis phenomena. To obtain the function, many experimental data for the first order transition curves are required. However, it needs so much efforts to measure the curves, especially for the hard magnetic materials. By the way, it is well known that the density function has the Gaussian distribution for the interaction axis on the Preisach plane. In this paper, we propose a simple technique to determine the distribution function or Everett function analytically. The initial magnetization curve is used for the distribution of the Everett function for the coercivity axis. A major, minor loop and the initial curve are used to get the Everett function for the interaction axis using the Gaussian distribution function and acceptable results were obtained.

The values of crystalline-electric-field parameters $A_{nm}$ for $RFe_{11}$Ti $H_{x}$ (R=Tb,Ho) (x=0,l) are obtained by fitting calculations to the magnetization curves along the crystal axes at 4.2 K and higher temperatures. The insertion of H element in RFe$_{11}$Ti significantly affects CEF parameters $A_{nm}$ . By using exchange field 2${\mu}$$_{B}$$H_{ex}$ derived by inelastic neutron scattering and fitted $A_{nm}$ , the calculations reproduce the experimental curves well.
