대물렌즈 전환식 축습동형 광학픽업용 엑츄에이터 설계 (Design of the Actuator of Shaft Sliding Type for an Optical Pick-up to Switch an Objective Lens)

  • CD(Compact Disc) 호환성을 가지는 고밀도 재생전용 및 기록재생용 DVD(Digital Video Disc) 기기의 광학픽업 2중 엑츄에이터 구조를 콤팩트하게 할 수 있는 단일 엑츄에이터 설계법을 제시한다. 설계된 엑츄에이터는 가동부에 CD용 대물렌즈와 DVD용 대물렌즈를 함께 장착하고, 사용 디스크에 따라 가동부를 축주위로 회전시켜서 대물렌즈를 전환하는 축습동형 구조를 하고, 자기 스프링에 의하여 부동된다. 감쇠방식으로서는 가동부와 축사이의 쿨롱마찰을 이용하고, 가동부는 유한요소법(FEM)을 통해, 서보대역내에서 2차 진동모드가 발생하지 않도록 한다. 본 논문의 설계법을 검증하기 위하여 시제품을 제작하고, 동특성을 측정, 평가한다.

초소형 렌즈 구동을 위한 선형 초음파 구동기 설계 (Design of a Linear Ultrasonic Actuator for Small Lens Actuation)

  • There is a great demand of micro-actuators for mobile information devices such as SFF optical drives and mobile phone cameras. However, the magnetic coils used in conventional electromagnetic motors are a major obstacle for the miniaturization because of their complicated structures and large power consumption. In this paper, a linear ultrasonic motor to actuate focusing lens of mobile devices is proposed. The new actuator uses a ring type bimorph piezoelectric material, and $d_{31}$ mode is adopted for applying linear motion. The interaction between inertia force and friction force makes linear motion by high-frequency saw signal input. The saw signal gives steady forces on the one direction by asymmetric inclination property of the signal itself on time domain. A commercial FEM(ANSYS) was used in this investigation for simulating structural analysis, identification of dynamic property, such as resultant displacement and coupled analysis with piezoelectric material. To evaluate the performance of the new design, a prototype was manufactured and experiments were carried out. Experimental results show the actuator motion of 5.4 mm/s at 10V saw signal of 41 kHz.

MgO 박막의 $\gamma$ 계수 측정용 이온빔원의 시작 및 동작특성 (Some Characteristics of Ion Beam Source for $\gamma$-Coefficient Measurement of MgO Thin Film)

  • The Kaufman type ion beam source with focusing lens was prepared to measure $\gamma$-coefficient of MgO thin film. Initial discharge of the system was started with the discharge voltage of 25V, the cathode filament current of 5.5A at the constant magnetic field of 150G. The system shows the maximum ion current density of $120{\mu}A/cm^2$, energy dispersion of 200eV and beam divergence of $30^{\circ}$ under the condition of Ar gas pressure $2.5{\times}10^{-4}Torr$, the beam voltage of 500V, the discharge voltage of 90V, the accelerator voltage of -200V and the cathode filament current of 6.1A. When the focusing lens was installed onto the ion beam source, the spreadness diameter of ion beam was about 10mm.

데이터 저장용 디스크의 회전 시 입자이탈에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Investigation of Particle Detachment Ratios From Rotating Data Storage Disks)

  • Particle contamination on the data storage disks has been a serious problem for magnetic hard disk drive manufacturers. For high storage optical disks, such as DVD-ROM/RAM or NFR (near field recording) system, particle-induced damages can be also detected because only a few micrometer particles can prevent read/write signal from optical lens. The increasing areal density and smaller bit size accelerates particle induced damages on the optical disk. One of the methods to prevent particle contamination on the optical disk surface is to handle the disk enclosed in a cartridge like a modern DVD-RAM disk. However, even for a perfectly sealed disk drive, particles are found inside the drive. The other method is to improve disk surface characteristics. Particle contamination on the surface can be reduced by proper selection of disk coating materials. [n this paper, particle detachment ratios for CD (compact disk), DVD (digital versatile disk), HD (magnetic hard disk), HD with Jut lubricant, and aluminosilicate substrate HD were investigated. Surface roughness and surface energy of the test disks were compared with the particle detachment ratios. Proper substrate and lubricant characteristics to reduce particle contamination on the disk surface were found.

  • An optical pickup actuator is an objective-lens-moving mechanism that provides a means to follow the disk displacement accurately(1). In this paper, a slim type optical pickup actuator for Notebook PCs is analyzed and designed to improve the driving sensitivity A three dimensional equivalent magnetic circuit network method (3D-EMCN method) is proposed for an analysis method which provides better characteristics in both precision and computation time of analysis comparing with a commercial three-dimensional finite element (3D-FEM) codes. To verify the validity of proposed method, we made a comparison between the analysis results and the experimental ones. We also compared this analysis results with 3D-FEM results. Among the several optimal algorithm, we adopt a niching genetic algorithm, which renders a set of the multiple optimal solutions. RCS (Restricted Competition Selection) niching genetic algorithm is used for optimal design of the actuator's performance. Recently, the pickup actuator needs additional driving structure for radial and tangential tilting motion to obtain better pick-up performance. So we applied the proposed method to the model containing tilting coils.

광 응용 전류 전압계의 현장실험 (Field Test of Optical Voltage and Current Meter)

  • We present an optical Voltage and current sensor using $BSO(Bi_{12}SiO_{20})$ monocrystal. The voltage and current sensor consist of PBS(Polarizing Beam Splitter), 1/4 wavelength plate, ZnSe, Selfoc lens, LED, and PIN-PD etc. Magnetic core was made using permalloy for applying magnetic field to current sensor effectively. Current was measured from 100 to 1,600 ampere and accuracy was about ${\pm}$5%. The accuracy could be improved to ${\pm}$l% after reducing the nonlinear property of BSO crystal using our own program in PC (IBM286). We noticed that these data were not influenced by 154,000 voltage at all. Applied voltage was reduced to 1/20 using capacitors. And experiment was carried out up to 450V of the reduced voltage. The data fran optical voltage sensor was similar to that from conventional voltage sensor. The accuracy of the data was within about ${\pm}$1%.

차세대 정보저장시스템 최신 기술 동향 (Technology Trend of Next Generation Information Storage Systems)

  • There are two important trends in the modern information society, including digital networking and ubiquitous environment. Thus it is strongly required to develop new information storage devices such as high density storages to match the increased data capacity and small size storage devices to be applied to the mobile multimedia electronics. So far, many approaches have been studied for the high density memory, including the holographic memory, super-RENS and near-field recording using solid immersion lens (SIL) or nano-probe for the ODD (Optical Disk Drive) system, and the perpendicular magnetic recording and heat-assisted magnetic recording for the HDD (Hard Disk Drive) system. In addition, new mobile storage devices have been prepared using 0.85" HDD and 30mm ODD systems from a lot of foreign and domestic companies and institutes. In this paper, the recent technology trend for the next generation information storage system is summarized to offer a research motivation and encouragement to new researchers in this field with an emphasis on the technical issues of the increase of data capacity and decrease of device size.

초음파를 이용한 물체 부상 이송시스템의 진동 특성 해석 (An Analysis of Vibration Characteristics in Ultrasonic Object Levitation Transport System)

  • In the semiconductor and optical industry, a new transport system which can replace the conventional transport systems is required. The transport systems are driven by the magnetic field and conveyer belts. The magnetic field may damage semiconductor and the contact force may scratch the optical lens. The ultrasonic wave driven system can solve these problems. In this semiconductor and optical industry, the non-contact system is required fur reducing the damages. The ultrasonic transportation is the solution of the problem. In this paper, the ultrasonic levitation system fur levitating object are proposed. The 3D vibration profiles of the beam are measured by Laser scanning Vibrometer fur verifying the vibration characteristics of the system and the amplitudes of the beam and the levitation heights of object are measured for evaluating the performance.

Magnetic Sector SIMS의 Sample Holder 위치에 따르는 RSF (Relative Sensitivity Factor) 변화 검증

  • SIMS(Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry)는 다른 표면 분석장비와 비교하여^g , pp m,^g , pp b 단위의 미량분석이 가능한 장비로서, 특히 depth Profiling을 위한 dynamic SIMS는 Mass Spectrometer의 종류에 따라 Quadrupole SIMS (Q-SIMS)와, Magnetic Sector SIMS (M-SIMS)로 분류된다. 한편, Q-SIMS와 달리 M-SIMS의 경우, Transmission을 높여 주기 위해 Sample Holder에 수 keV의 bias를 걸어 주는데, 이로 인하여 분석 원소에 대한 Sensitivity가 향상되어 지는 반면, RSF의 변화와 같은 분석상의 Artifact가 발생하게 된다. 일반적으로 Q-SIMS의 경우에는 RSF의 RSD(Relative Standard Deviation)가 1%이내에서 보고되고 있지만 M-SIMS에 있어서는 이러한 Deviation이 M-SIMS보다 크게 나타난다. 이 차이는 주로 Sample Holder와 Immersion Lens 사이에 형성되는 Magnetic Field의 왜곡과 Spectrometer의 문제로부터 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 Sample Holder의 종류 및 holder so window 위치에 따라 RSF의 차이를 측정하고 그 data를 RS/1 통계 Package를 이용하여 계량적으로 검증하였으며, 그 차이의 원인과 대책을 제시하고자 한다. 실험에 사용된 Sample은 Si(100) p-type Wafer에 Boron을 이온 주입하여 제작하였다. 이온 주입 장비는 Varian E-500HP이며, 5.0E13 ions/cm2의 dose양을 80keV의 Energy로 각각 7도와 22도의 Tilt와 Twist Angle로 이온 주입을 하였다. SIMS분석에 사용된 Sample Holder는 각각 3 Hole, 9 Hole Type HOlder이며, 분석은 Cameca IMS-6f를 사용하여 B에 대한 Matrix Peak으로 28Si++를 얻었다. 실험 결과 3 Hole Type Sample Holder의 경우 RSF의 RSD는 5.84%, 9Hle Type Sample Holder의 경우는 14.3%로 나타났으나 분석 Window의 위치에 따르는 Grouping을 실시한 결과, 3 Hole Type Sample Holder의 경우 1.2%, 9Hole Type Sample Holder의 경우 9.8%로 RSF의 변화가 감소하였다. 이러한 Deviation은 Sample Holder를 Mount시킬 때 세 개의 Screw를 이용하여 Immersion Lens와의 평형을 잡아주기 때문에 발생하며, 이 Munting을 정확히 해줌으로써 RSF의 변화를 줄일 수 있으나, 실제로 완벽한 Mounting이 불가능하기 때문에 RSF를 일정하게 하기 위해서는 Sample Holder so Window의 취치를 일정하게 설정한 후 분석을 실시해야 한다고 판단된다.
