Sensorless Speed Control of PMSM with Superposition Principle (중첩의 원리를 이용한 센서리스 PMSM속도제어)

  • This application study presents a solution to control a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor without sensors. The use of this system yields enhanced operations, fewer system components, lower system cost , energy efficient control system design and increased efficiency. The control method presented is field oriented control (FOC). The sinusoidal voltage waveforms are generated by the power module using the space vector modulation technique. A practical solution is described and results are given in this application Study. The performance of a Sensorless architecture allows an intelligent approach to reduce the complete system costs of digital motion control applications using cheaper electrical motors without sensors. This paper deals with an overview of sensorless solutions in digital motor control applications whereby the focus will be the new Controller without sensors and its applications.

  • This paper describes the design of toroid-type HTS DC reactor magnet. Target operating current and inductance of the HTS DC reactor are 1,500 A and 400 mH, respectively. The HTS DC reactors were designed through electromagnetic analysis and 3D CAD program. And, we analyze the operating performance of the Double Pancake Coil module for the 1,500 A, 400 mH HTS DC reactor magnet under the liquid nitrogen condition.

  • This paper proposes a servo control system of SPMSM (Surface-mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) which essentially uses vector control method. The control system is composed of the PI controller for speed control and the current controller using space voltage vector PWM technique. The high-speed processing of algorithm for vector control and inverter switching for PWM is carried out by TMS320C31 DSP and IGBT module, respectively. The proposed scheme for 2.2kW SPMSM is verified through digital simulations and experiments, which show higher performance than that of traditional hysteresis current control technique.

  • We already fabricated a proto-type HTS charging system with photovoltaic (PV) system and obtained design parameters for DC converter and HTS charging system. In order to develop the real scale charging system efficiently, we suggested a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controller using a perturb and observe (P&O) MPPT algorithm for PV system. In this paper, we designed and simulated the MPPT controller for the real scale HTS charging system. As well as, the PV module has been analyzed by solving solar cell equivalent equations. The simulated and theoretical results presented here are being considered the next study which addresses the design and fabrication parameters.

A Modular Disturbance Observer-based Cascade Controller for Robust Speed Regulation of PMSM

  • This paper deals with the robust speed regulation of a surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) that is subject to parametric uncertainties and external disturbances. The proposed approach retains a conventional cascade control configuration composed of an outer-loop speed control module and inner-loop current control modules. Baseline proportional-integral (PI) controllers are designed for nominal modular systems without accounting for the uncertainties to set a desired control performance of the closed-loop system. After studied in both frequency and time domains, a reduced-order proportional-integral observer (PIO), as a modular disturbance observer, is incorporated with each control module to maintain the ideal performance of the modules. Theoretical analysis confirms the desired performance recovery of the augmented system with modular PIOs to the nominal system. Comparative computer simulations and experimental results validate the proposed cascade control method for SPMSM speed regulation.

  • The present paper proposes a novel cableless magnetic actuator with a new propulsion module that exhibits a very high thrusting force. This actuator contains an electrical inverter that directly transforms DC from button batteries into AC. The electrical DC-AC inverter incorporates a mass-spring system, a reed switch, and a curved permanent magnet that switches under an electromagnetic force. The actuator is moved by the inertial force of the mass-spring system due to mechanical resonance energy. The experimental results show that the actuator is able to move upward at a speed of 33 mm/s when using 10 button batteries when pulling a 10 g load mass. This cableless magnetic actuator has several possible applications, including narrow-pipe inspection and maintenance.

  • Mr. Hur has developed the 7500KW permanent magnet synchronous generator. The 7500KW generator has dual blade system with vertical axis type generation module. The 7500KW generator will generating that it is too expensive and construction payment. The advantages of dual blade system are cheap in generation with better efficiency, and safety compact structure. But also this system has the expensive slide ring for to distribute electrical power.

  • In this paper, dynamic simulation results for magnetically-levitated vehicles are resented. The dynamic equation and models for a half-bogie system are derived. The system includes primary suspension system, magnet module, spring-damper system and cabin. Also, the dynamic characteristics for the derived models are analysed. Using the results, levitation control algorithm can be designed to meet the performance requirements.

  • In this paper, the vibration control of CPM(Controlled-Permanent Magnet) type magnetic levitation system of 1ton is designed and implemented. The target to be controlled has 8 magnets and 4 corners of the maglev module are levitated using a digital feedback controller. The designed controller includes PID type gap controller and speed observer. Its performance is validated by some kinds of experiments.
