탄소섬유강화플라스틱의 적층구성에 따른 드릴 가공에 관한연구 (A study on the Drilling according to the Stacking Sequence of the CFRP)

  • The CFRP composite has a lot of merits such as mechanical characteristic, light and thermal resistance. For these merits, CFRP is applied to so many industrial area. In order to use the composite materials in the aircraft structures or machine elements, accurate surfaces for bearing mounting or joints must be provided, which require precise, machining. In this study, the specimens differentiating the stacking sequence of 5kinds were used. When drilling the carbon fiber reinforced plastics, it was checked on whether the stacking sequence reached any effect on the cutting force. Also relationship between the drill diameter is examined from the drilling experiment, which is the drilling of Fabric, Unidirectional specimen with ∅6mm, ∅10mm, ∅12mm cemented carbide drill. Considering cutting force and drilling diameter, the results are analyzed.

Tool path planning of hole-making operations in ejector plate of injection mould using modified shuffled frog leaping algorithm

  • Optimization of hole-making operations in manufacturing industry plays a vital role. Tool travel and tool switch planning are the two major issues in hole-making operations. Many industrial applications such as moulds, dies, engine block, automotive parts etc. requires machining of large number of holes. Large number of machining operations like drilling, enlargement or tapping/reaming are required to achieve the final size of individual hole, which gives rise to number of possible sequences to complete hole-making operations on the part depending upon the location of hole and tool sequence to be followed. It is necessary to find the optimal sequence of operations which minimizes the total processing cost of hole-making operations. In this work, therefore an attempt is made to reduce the total processing cost of hole-making operations by applying relatively new optimization algorithms known as shuffled frog leaping algorithm and proposed modified shuffled frog leaping algorithm for the determination of optimal sequence of hole-making operations. An industrial application example of ejector plate of injection mould is considered in this work to demonstrate the proposed approach. The obtained results by the shuffled frog leaping algorithm and proposed modified shuffled frog leaping algorithm are compared with each other. It is seen from the obtained results that the results of proposed modified shuffled frog leaping algorithm are superior to those obtained using shuffled frog leaping algorithm.

  • In this study, it is experimented to find factors effecting surface roughness using the system of experiments. in the mirror surface finishing system. (1) The film feed and oscillation frequency in $40{\mu}m$ abrasive film, grinding speed in $30{\mu}m$, and machining time in $15{\mu}m$15 are the main factors effecting the surface roughness. (2) Applying the optimal finishing condition to $40{\mu}m$, $30{\mu}m$, $15{\mu}m$ abrasive finishing film in sequence, it is possible to obtian about Ra 10 nm surface roughness on SM45C workpiece. (3) Application of the system of experments to the micro abrasive grain film finishing was very effective method in the extraction of main factor and optimal condition.

  • A rule-based CAPP(computer aided process planning) system is proposed in this research to develop integrated manufacturing process of machining and inspection using OMM(On-Machine Measurement) device. Generally workpiece composed of many primitive form features.   • This paper presents a hierarchical real-time operation control and monitoring scheme of the FMS/CIM center which has been implemented at the Automation and Systems Research Institute of Seoul National University. The hierarchical structure of the whole scheme consists of three lavers. The upper layer is in charge of on-line scheduling, computer network control, shop-floor monitoring and command generation for AGV dispatching, machining, assembly, inspection, set-up, etc. The middle layer has six modules, which are installed in the FMS host computer with the upper layer and run on the multi-tasking basis. Each module is connected to one of six cell controllers distributed in the FMS model plant and transfers operation command down to each cell controller through the Ethernet/TCP-IP local area network. The lower layer is comprised of six cell control software modules for machining cell, assembly cell, inspection cell, set-up stations. AS/RS and AGV. Each cell controller reports the status of the manufacturing facilites to the middle layer as well as ecxecuting the appropriate sequence control of the manufacturing processes.

  • 본 연구에서는 사출금형의 공정설계 전문가시스템의 개발에 대한 연구의 일부 로서, 구체적으로는 구조가 비교적 간단하고 의사결정 규칙의 획득이 용이한 받침판이 없는 2단 사출금형을 대상으로 하여 CLIPS를 사용하여 개인용 컴퓨터에서 실행이 가능 한 공정설계 전문가시스템을 개발하여 실제 사출금형 공정설계에 적용하여 그 유효성 을 평가하였다.

  • This paper deals with some critical activities of CAPP system such as generation of part description database, part feature recognition, process and operation selection, and sequencing method for turning operation of symmetric rotational parts. The part description database is generated by data conversion module from CAD data, and the part feature is recognized by using both pattern primitives and feature recognition rules. Machining processes and operations are selected based on machining surface features and its sequence is determined by rules acquired from process planning expert. AutoCAD is employed as CAD system and computer program is developed by using Turbo-C on IBM PC/AT compatible system.

  • A macro-level CAPP system is proposed to plan the complicated mechanical prismatic parts efficiently. The system creates the efficient machining sequence of the features in a part by analyzing the feature information. Because the planning with the individual features is very complicated, feature groups are formed for effective planning using the nested relations of the features of a part, and special feature groups are determined for sequencing. The process plan is generated based on the sequences of the feature groups and features. When multiple machines are required, efficient machine assignment is performed. A series of heuristic rules are developed to accomplish it.

  • In this paper, we consider a multi-objective part-machine grouping problem, in which part types have several alternative part routings and each part routing has a machining sequence. This problem is characterized as optimally determining part type sets and its corresponding machine cells such that the sum of inter-cell part movements and the sum of machine workload imbalances are simultaneously minimized. Due to the complexity of the problem, a two-stage heuristic algorithm is proposed, and experiments are shown to verify the effectiveness of the algorithm.

  • We use a compound-cam twin arm structure and random tool access method to achieve a faster ATC (Automatic Tool Changer) system for the accurate position and rotation control of a tool magazine and an exchange am. Based on the data obtained from various sensors, it is possible to follow the sequence of commands in each control step for an exchange arm. However, it is not so easy to reduce the exchange time of the system because of the slow responses of the sensors and execution mode delays of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) scan time. In this paper, we propose a new programmed limit-switch position control method to obtain the shortest possible delays for the random tool access method and compound-cam twin arm structure. With some experimental results, we have achieved below 0.9sec tool exchange time with the proposed method.
