CNC가공기의 부가축 활용을 위한 CAD/CAM Script 활용 기법 (CAD/CAM Script Application Techniques for Addition Axial Application of CNC M/C)

  • CNC 공작기계들을 이용한 품질향상과 생산성 향상을 위하여 2,3축 CNC 공작기계들에 부가축(2축)을 추가하여 생산 공정개선을 위해 노력하고 있다. 일반적인 CNC 공작기계들의 가공공정보다는 가공물의 공정간 이동이 현저히 줄어들기 때문에 생산성 향상과 더불어 정밀도 유지가 향상되기 때문이다. 그런데 기계가공 현장에서는 일반적으로 CAD(2.5D)와 CNC 공작기계의 수동프로그램 작업에 익숙한 작업들이 많다. 따라서 부가축을 추가한 CNC 공작 기계들의 원활한 활용을 위해 CAD/CAM의 VBScript을 활용하여 다축, 다공정 가공프로그램을 편리하게 작성할 수 있도록 한 것이다. VBScript을 컴파일하여 CAD/CAM Software(2.5D)에서 밀링용 Face Cutter의 Insert Tip 자리를 대상으로 수행한 결과 수동 프로그램 작성 시간 단축은 물론 복잡한 Multi CAD/CAM Software보다는 접근성이 편리하며, 다양한 제품들을 빠르게 프로그램 할 수 있었다.

가공정도 향상을 위한 Milling Machine의 안정화 설계 (Design of a Stabilized Milling Machine for the Improved Precision Machining)

  • Since the most exclusive machines of the modern industries which require the nano precision rates are evolved from the machine tools, the design of the stable machine tool structure is very critical. Exclusive machines for the modern industries such as semiconductor, solar cell and LED have surface machining processes which are similar to the face cutting and grinding of conventional machine tools. This study was initiated to stabilize a milling machine structure and further to help design those exclusive machines which have similar machining mechanisms. The vibrations inherent to the machine tool structures hurt the precision machining as well as damage the longevity of the structures. There have been numerous researches in order to suppress the vibrations of machine tool structures using the extra modules such as actuators and dampers. In this paper, the dynamic properties are analyzed to obtain the natural frequencies and mode shapes of a machine tool structure which reflect the main reasons of the biggest vibrations under the given operating conditions. And the feasibility of improving the stability of the structure without using any additional apparatus has been investigated with minor design changes. The result of the study shows that simple changes based on proper system identification can considerably improve the stability of the machine tool structure.

  • In this study, very accurate computational mechatronics method has been developed for typical N.C. machine model applying to manufacturing industry in these days. Computation analysis of high speed machine tools like N.C. machine needs consideration about mechatronical features because the machine shows close interaction between dynamic behavior of the mechanical structure, drives and numerical control. For this, nonlinear structural analysis tools based on FEM are linked numerical control program to control the dynamic behavior. In this study, we studied the dynamic feature of N.C. machine by using SAMCEF as nonlinear computational structural analysis tool and simulink as drivers.

  • One of the major limitations of productivity and quality in machining is machining accuracy of the machine tools. The machining accuracy is affected by geometric, volumetric errors of the machine tools. This paper suggests the enhancement method of machining accuracy for precision machining of high quality metal reflection mirror or optics lens, etc. In this paper, we study 1) the compensation of linear pitch error with NC controller compensation function using laser interferometer measurement, 2) the method for enhancing the accuracy of NC milling machining by modeling and compensation of volumetric error, 3) the generation of the parabolic face profile. And the method is verified by the parabolic face machining experiment with a vertical three axes NC milling machine. After this study, we will inspect using On-machine measurement and study the repetitive machining by a compensated path

5축CNC공작기계의 회전테이블 오차 측정에 관한 연구 (A study on the measurement of rotary table error with 5-axis CNC machine)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a geometric error model and path compensation algorithm for rotating axes of the 5-axis machine tools, by a method to calibrate a rotary table using one master ball and three LVDTs. It was developed a new methodology to measure 3 translation errors of the rotary table and with a compensation procedure for setup errors of the master ball. The method is experimentally verified using a ball-table and on-machine inspection method. The results showed that the geometric error models with the path compensation strategy can be practically used as a means for improving the accuracy of the machine tools with rotary table.

  • With increasing the needs for micro and precision parts, micro machining technology using micro tools has been studied to fabricate a small part with high density such as electronics, optics, communications, and medicine industry more than before. Though these micro tools have developed rapidly, it is difficult to apply them to micro fabrication technologies, because of the inherent manufacturing. In this study, micro tools(wc) to produce micro structures and parts were manufactured by cylindrical grinding machine employing ELID(Electrolytic In-process Dressing) technique and good dimensional accuracy was achieved. Furthermore we researched the characteristics of machining on the micro drilling using micro drills and manufactured micro tools. Finally it is confirmed that manufactured micro tools can be used for micro machining.

  • Enhancing energy efficiency of machine tools causes substantial impacts on the manufacturing industries, to cope with the competitive introduction of the total energy management strategies. Real-time energy monitoring is essential to identify energy consumption patterns of the machine tools and correlate them with the energy management strategy. Integrated analysis of machine tool's operation status and the corresponding energy usage is most important to accurately evaluate the energy efficiency under the various machining process environments. This paper proposes a system architecture to realize the online energy monitoring system and the embedded energy monitoring approach interconnected with the CNC kernel. The shop-floor operation management system is presented to integrate the proposed online energy monitoring approach.

고장모드 분석 프로그램을 통한 공작기계의 신뢰성 평가 (Reliability Assessment of Machine Tools Using Failure Mode Analysis Programs)

  • For reliability assessment for machine tools, failure mode analyses by two viewpoints were studied in this paper. First, this study developed the reliability data analysis program, which searches f3r optimal failure distribution like failure rate or MTBF(Mean Time Between Failure) using failure data and reliability test data of mechanical parts in the web. Moreover, this data analysis program saves both failure data or reliability data and their failure rate or MTBF for database establishment. Second, this paper conducted failure mode analysis through such performance tests as circular movement test and vibration testing for machine tools when reliability data is not available. A developed web-based analysis program shows correlations between failure mode and performance test result and also accumulates all the data. These kinds of data analysis programs and stored data furnish valuable information for improving the reliability of mechanical system.

슬라이딩 커버의 신뢰성 시험 및 구조개선 연구 (A study on the Reliability Experiment and the Structural Improvement of Sliding Cover)

  • Recently, the high-speed and intelligence technology of machine tools are developed for the high efficiency of productivity Under the operating condition from the high-speed of machine tools, the various failure modes can occur in core units of manufacturing system. Therefore it is for the reliability concept of machine tool to be required in a design level. And the above-stated technology must be accommodated in the feeding and spindle subsystem, etc those are the core units of machine tools. In this study, we are developed the test-bed of sliding cover (C-plate) in order to evaluating reliability and estimating failure modes of feeding subsystem under operating conditions. The reliability experiment using the developed test-bed and the additional structural analysis executed on single and double structure. We found out the weak parts of sliding cover and were able to predict a life cycle from the experiment results. In this study, we propose the new C-plate model with double link structure to apply the high-speed machine tool in the fundamental guideline.

  • Design methodology of Interactuve Measuring Part Program Generating Tools(IMPPGT) realized on the FANUC 15MA using touch trigger probes and interactive macro functions of the CNC was described in this paper. Measuring G codes have been designed according to probe ste up, basic and applied inspection items by using measuring arguments. Menu driven measuring and inspection functions of the IMPPGT were studied and implemented on the CNC through the macro executor and ROM writer. Using the developed measuring G code system on the machine tool, untended measurement and inspection operation was able to be realized in precision FMS lines.
