A wheel nut wrench is one of the hand tools used to loosen and tighten lug nuts on automobile wheels and it has generally a solid-type geometry for commercial vehicles. However, the solid-type wheel nut wrenches manufactured by hot forging processes exhibit several drawbacks such as heavy weight and rough surface finish. Thus, many efforts have been devoted to change the part geometry and improve the manufacturing process. For this purpose, the weight of the final product can be reduced drastically using a hollow tube as the initial stock, which can be manufactured by the more economical manufacturing process of cold forging. In this study, the cold forging of a hollow-type wheel nut wrench for commercial vehicles was designed based on the results of fundamental experiments and CAE analyses using the commercial finite element code DEFORM-3D. In addition, cold forging experiments were conducted on a special-purpose forming machine for hollow wheel nut wrenches in order to validate the designed process sequence. As results, it was found that the final products with a weight reduction of 39% and better surface appearance can be manufactured without any defect with the newly designed cold forging process.

Since cross-feed directional cutting force which is normal to machined surface directly influences the machined surface of the workpiece and total force loaded in cutter, it is necessary to estimate this force to control the roughness of the machined surface and total force in cutter. However, there have been difficulties in using the current existing in a stationary motor for cutting state prediction because of some unpredictable behavior of the current. Empirical approach was conducted to resolve the problem. As a result, we showed that the current and its unpredictable behavior are related to the infinitesimal rotation of the motor. Subsequently, the relationship between the current and the cutting force was identified with the error less than 50%. And, the estimation results of the two machine tools with different characteristics were compared to each other to confirm the validity of the presented estimation method and the characteristics of current of the stationary feed motor.

In this paper, to develop a smart CAD/CAM system for systematically performing from the 3-D solid shape design of products to the CNC cutting operation of products by a machining center, a B-Rep solid modeler is realized based on the half edge data structure. Because the B-Rep solid modeler has the various capabilities related to the solid definition functions such as the creation operation of primitives and the translational and rotational sweep operation, the solid manipulation functions such as the split operation and the Boolean set operation, and the solid inversion function for effectively using the data structure, the 3-D solid shape of products can be easily designed and constructed. Also, besides the automatic generation of CNC code, the B-Rep solid modeler can be used as a powerful tool for realizing the automatic generation of finite elements, the interference check between solids, the structural design of machine tools and robots and so on.
Machinabilities means inherent properties of pinus densiflora at Chunyang district to be CNC machined easily or not, and processing abilities of the tool and machine together. This explanation signifies that machinabilities have two phases of signification, depended on considering and stress either materials or tools preferentially. This paper discuss machinabilities, the following items are usually employed as the indices of stress distribution at the cutting tool rake face. The stress distributions on the chip - tool contact surface at the early stage of the chip forming and under the stage of fringe pattern in wood cutting were analyzed the photoelastic method. The tool used in the present experiment was the special cutting tool H.S.S. one made in laboratory. And isochromatic fringe pattern and isolinic line of work piece by chip-behavior during the cutting operation were photographed with the feed camera continuously. The effects on the stress, distribution on the rake face of the epoxy tool and the strain distribution in the work piece of wood plate by chip behavior are cleared in pre cent experiment.
Recently the automization of wood manufacturing and the development of CNC machine tools becomes the center of interest. Cutting mechanism, tool wear and the roughness of machined surface have been studied. In the studies about wood for special uses, concrete data of cutting is desired. While Pinus densiflora is characterized that heartwood develops as age increases, Chunyang District has the characteristic of strength, red color, relatively regular chap and high heartwood - percentage. But there is no data about cutting this wood, Chunyang District. In this study face milling by sintered carbide tool was excuted to Chunyang District. Cutting force, Surface roughness and states were investigated with regard to cutting speed. Example results were as follows; 1) Mean cutting resistance against lateral component force and longitudinal component force decreased rapidly up to cutting speed of 155 m/min, and remains constant above this speed. 2) The surface roughness of cutting surface lowered as cutting speed increased, regardless of fiber formation. Radial rougness of fiber is larger than lineal surface roughness. 3) Increase in Cutting speed made machining mark restrained. Down-milling showed larger marks than up-milling.

The term‘High Speed Machining’has been used for many years to describe end milling with small diameter tools at high rotational speeds. typically 10,000 - 100,000 rpm. The process was applied in the aerospace industry for the machining of light alloys, notably aluminium. In recent years, however, the mold and die industry has begun to use the technology for the production of components, including those manufactured from hardened tool steels. And the end-mill is an important tool in the milling process. A typical examples for the end mill is the milling of pocket and slot in which a lot of material is removed from the workpiece. Therefore the proper selection of cutting parameters for end milling is one of the important factors affecting the cutting cost. The one of the advantages of HSM is cutting thin-wall part of light alloy like Al (thinkness about 0.3mm). In this paper, firstly, we study characteristics of HSM, and then, we choose the optimal parameters(cutting forces) and investigate various machining strategies to cut thin-wall part by experiment.

In unmanned machining, One of the most essential issue is the tool management system which includes controlling. identification, presetting and monitoring of cutting tools. Especially the monitoring of tool wear and fracture may be the heart of the system. In this study a computer vision based tool monitoring system is developed. Also an algorithm which can determine the tool condition using this system is presented. In order to enhance practical adaptability the vision system through which two modes of images are taken is located over the rake face of a tool insert. And they are analysed quantitatively and qualitatively with image processing technique. In fact the morphologies of tool fracture or wear are occurred so variously that it is difficult to predict them. For the purpose of this problem the pattern recognition is introduced to classify the modes of the tool such as fracture, crater, chipping and flank wear. The experimental results performed in the CNC turning machine have proved the effectiveness of the proposed system.
It is generally understood that clusters are the promoters of innovation and therefore, the attention of researchers has been increasingly to discern the factors driving innovation among the firms in a cluster, especially in a high-tech cluster. In this study, we identify the variables capturing the nature of a firm that possibly impact the absorptive capacity of a firm and subsequently ascertain their impact on the degree of interactions between a firm, and other firms and associated institutions within and outside a cluster, respectively. Furthermore, we probe the influence of these interactions as a whole on firm-level innovation. The study was carried out in the context of Bengaluru, which houses the densely interconnected network of innovation-intensive high-tech manufacturing firms forming a high-tech manufacturing cluster. Data were drawn from 101 high-tech manufacturing firms belonging to electronics, machine tools, electrical and pharmaceutical industries. Based on the cluster analysis and subsequent graphical analysis on each of the three profiled clusters, it was found that size and origin of a firm have significant impact on the degree of firm's interactions. In turn, higher dynamism of firms in terms of degree of interactions led to higher innovation performance.

Now a performance process of Demolition works is 'Before-Removal & After-Classification' method in Korea. This method is short of demolition time, but construction wastes contained substances lower recycling rate of construction, raise expenses of reclamation & treatment. Then the government has decided upon a positive 'Before-Classification & After-Removal' method, and substantially raise a recycling rate of construction wastes. Therefore, this study makes an investigation into state of internal and external demolition field through evaluating technological level, we make a proposal of dismantling method from there. Also, we put dismantling to the test in an apartment by proposed work process. As the result, it made a term of works increased for removing interior material. To solve this problem, we need to develop tools and methods of construction that can remove efficiently. From now on, we continuously need to study a breakdown system of dismantling, analysis of dismantling process and general system by inspecting entire demolition process. And we have to study details for making a specific thesis of method of removing interior material which was based on developing a suitable partial demolition machine and dismantling works.

The cleanability of machine parts is becoming increasingly important in the industrial field. In particular, cleanability is the most important factor in hydraulic products. The burr and chips are dominant factors of cleanability. If the burrs are not removed completely before the beginning of the machining stage, this will cause many problems, such as scratches and operation failure. Due to the complexity of the valve body itself, it is very difficult to use common deburring tools. In this study, a brush-like deburring tool was suggested and verified as a proper tool for removing the burrs and forming a proper edge shape through a real experiment. Various kinds of brush materials and process conditions were tested for proper deburring of the valve body. It was shown that the suggested method was successful for valve body deburring.
