  • In the part industry, pipe has required high accuracy in surface roughness and size. Especially, when producing the high frequency welding pipe, cutting process is very important as the finishing process that remove the hot welding bead. The objective of this paper is to investigate the hot machining high frequency welded pipe by simulation and experimental tests. To test the cutting process as hot machining, all cutting environment is reproduced in turning with heating system, and the test is accomplished by comparing with room temperature machining and hot machining in consideration of cutting force, tool wear and cutting temperature.

  • Nanoimprint lithography(NIL) is an emerging technology enabling cost-effective and high-throughput nanofabrication. Among NILs, significant efforts from both academia and industry have been put in UV NIL research and development because of its ability to pattern at room temperature and at low pressure. In UV NIL, there may be in-line set-up error of the stamp and the substrate. To compensate this error, the dummy blocks are put on the stamp and pressurized uniformly. Contact problems between the stamp and the photoresist layer on the substrate are often happened, which results in the non-uniform residual layer In this paper, the pressurization method on the dummy block is investigated by the finite element method. A new method is recommended and evaluated far the uniform stamp deformation.

  • A power line communications, power, the outgoing line is a means of communication. DC 12 volt power lines in the system over the 2-wire control signals with the power to send the cargo configuration, and, in the basement living space, temperature, humidity, dust, CO2 sensors, and through the cooperation of the real-time detection and valves of the appropriate amount of wind, fan was designed to control.   • As the building is becomes bigger and larger, it can lead to big damage in case of fire. Also, tunnel, machine room and underground joint are spaces that can cause high temperature fire above 1,350℃ in case of fire. Therefore, a refractory material is need that can be withstand in high temperatures for long time. One side, the composition of oyster shell is CaCO3 of 90% or more. It is expected that it will be possible to use it as a high calcium natural material which is the material of the refractory board. According to, Study on bending, compressive strength of mortar according to temperature and heating time change using classified oyster shell as aggregate.

  • This paper describes the construction and test results of a 10kVA single phase HTS transformer. Double pancake windings with BSCCO-2223 HTS tape and GFRP cryostat with room temperature bore are used in the transformer. Two double pancake windings are connected in series to provide 184 turns and two double pancake windings are connected in parallel to conduct the secondary current of 45.4A. Coefficients of the constructed transformer are obtained using the fundamental tests of the transformer. According to the test results, larger leakage reactance than expected is observed due to the bulky core which surrounded the cryostat.

  • This paper is concerned with the improvement of impact and tensile Properties of spheroidal graphite cast iron of the following duplex matricess which were heat treated in the eutectic transformation temperature range (that is, $({\alpha}+{\gamma})$ coexisting range) ; ferrite-martensite, ferrite-bainite and ferrite-pearlite. The absorbed energy and maximum load was measured by recording the load-deflection curve with instrumented Charpy impact testing machine in the temperature range from $+100^{\circ}C$ to $-196^{\circ}C$. It was found the ferrite-bainite duplex matrix showed the highest toughness among the above matrices in the room temperature and the low temperature range. Comparison of this matrix to ferrite-pearlite matrix(that is, as cast) showed a lowering of $27^{\circ}C$ in the nil-ductility transition temperature (NDT) and a lowering of $40^{\circ}C$ in the ductile-brittle transition temperature (TrE), Which seems to result from the finner dimple pattern observed using miorofractography.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a prediction model for evaluating heavy-weight floor impact sounds in a test building. Three rooms in the test building (slab thickness In and 240mm), which consist of frame concrete structures were tested and modeled. First, the SPL distribution in the receiving room was analyzed by measuring SPL at 90 positions using a bang machine. Then, a vibration model using finite element method is proposed considering the material properties and boundary conditions. In addition, the result of transient analysis was compared with field measurements using a standard heavy-weight impact source. Through a vibro-acoustic simulation program, an acoustic model evaluating the building elements (reflected wall, nor, window and door) was proposed. Finally, validation of the prediction model was conducted by vibro-acoustic analysis with field measurements of noise radiation characteristics in receiving rooms.

  • 본 연구에서는 수지 인장시편과 스트랜드 인장시편을 적용하여 탄소섬유/에폭시 복합재의 고온에서의 특성을 조사하였다. 연구결과에 따르면 수지시편의 인장강성은 수지의 유리전이 온도에 근접해감에 따라 서서히 감소하지만 스트랜드 인장시편의 인장강성은 상온에서의 인장강성을 유지한다. 수지시편과 스트랜드 시편의 인장강도는 온도가 유리전이 온도에 근접할수록 급격한 감소를 나타내었다.

So, You Need Reliable Magnetic Measurements You Can Use With Confidence? How the Magnetic Measurement Capabilities at NPL Can Help

  • The magnetic field standards, facilities and capabilities available at NPL for the calibration of magnetometers and gradiometers and the measurement of the magnetic properties of materials will be introduced. The details of the low magnetic field facility will be explained and the capabilities this facility enables for the characterisation and calibration of ultra-sensitive room temperature magnetic sensors will be presented. Building on core material capabilities that are compliant with the IEC 60404 series of written standards, the example of a standard permeameter that has been modified for the measurement of strips for real world conditions is discussed. This was incorporated into a stress machine to measure the DC properties of the soft magnetic materials used by the partners of a collaborative industry led R&D project at stress levels of up to 700 MPa. The results for three materials are presented and the changes in the properties with applied stress compared to establish which material exhibits favourable properties.

Detection of Moving Direction using PIR Sensors and Deep Learning Algorithm

  • In this paper, we propose a method to recognize the moving direction in the indoor environment by using the sensing system equipped with passive infrared (PIR) sensors and a deep learning algorithm. A PIR sensor generates a signal that can be distinguished according to the direction of movement of the user. A sensing system with four PIR sensors deployed by $45^{\circ}$ increments is developed and installed in the ceiling of the room. The PIR sensor signals from 6 users with 10-time experiments for 8 directions were collected. We extracted the raw data sets and performed experiments varying the number of sensors fed into the deep learning algorithm. The proposed sensing system using deep learning algorithm can recognize the users' moving direction by 99.2 %. In addition, with only one PIR senor, the recognition accuracy reaches 98.4%.
