Overload Control for Random Access in Cellular Machine-to-Machine Communications (셀룰러 기반의 사물 간 통신을 위한 임의접근 채널의 부하 제어 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose an overload control scheme to resolve an overload problem in a random access channel of cellular machine-to-machine (M2M) communication networks. The M2M applications are characterized by small-sized data intermittently transmitted by a massive number of machines. Due to this characteristics, an overload situation in random access channel (RACH) can happen when a large number of devices try to send a signal via the RACH. To address this overload problem, we propose a scheme in which a base station estimates the total load in the network and controls the load by using a p-persistent method based on the estimated load.

Investigating loading rate and fibre densities influence on SRG - concrete bond behaviour

  • This work features the outcomes of an empirical investigation into the characteristics of steel reinforced grout (SRG) composite - concrete interfaces. The parameters varied were loading rate, densities of steel fibres and types of load displacement responses or measurements (slip and machine grips). The following observations and results were derived from standard single-lap shear tests. Interfacial debonding of SRG - concrete joints is a function of both fracture of matrix along the bond interface and slippage of fibre. A change in the loading rate results in a variation in peak load (Pmax) and the correlative stress (σmax), slip and machine grips readings at measured peak load. Further analysis of load responses revealed that the behaviour of load responses is shaped by loading rate, fibre density as well as load response measurement variable. Notably, the out-of-plane displacement at peak load increased with increments in load rates and were independent of specimen fibre densities.

  • This paper describes the guideline of design and tuning of practical Micro 5KVA machine's digital AVR/PSS control parameters by using the computer models and testing on-line AVR step test of laboratory simulator under the no-load or load conditions. The suggested procedures can be also applied to the large scaled machine's AVR/PSS control parameter tuning in KEPCO system.

  • In this paper, an analytical and experimental study was performed in order to determine the effects of interaction between vehicle and structure. Results presented in the paper show that analytical method including moving load effect can investigate the trend of structural response due to dynamic interaction between vehicle and structure. The wheel tracking machine fitted with 2-axle test vehicle can demonstrate more accurate dynamic interaction between vehicle and structure than the wheel tracking machine fitted without 2-axle test vehicle.

  • In this paper, a load balancing problem among operators is considered, when one or more machines can be assigned to an operator. The machines are grouped into two types and there are more than one machines in each group. The type of machine in which a job can be processed, is determined. However, an operator can handle both types of machine. The elementary operations of a job are classified into three classes : machine-controlled elements, operator-controlled elements and machine/operator- controlled elements. The objective is to balance the workloads among operators under the constraints of available machine-time and operator-time. A heuristic solution procedure is suggested for allocating jobs to machines and allocating machines to operators. The performance of the algorithm is evaluated with various data set.

  • In this paper, a load balancing problem among operators is considered, when one or more identical machines can be assigned to an operator. The operations of a job are separated into three categories : machine-controlled elements, operator-controlled elements and machine/operator-controlled elements. Machining or forming operations are included into the first category. The second category includes inspection and moving to another machine, and the last category includes setup and loading/unloading operation. The objective is to balance the workloads among operators under the constraints of available machine-time and operator-time. A hierarchical heuristic solution procedure is suggested for allocating jobs to each machine and allocating machines to each operator. The performance of the algorithm is evaluated with various data set.

  • In many application, LBLDCM is special-purpose devices in that, unlike their rotary counterparts, LBLDCM is tailored to specific needs.   • A newly-built inverter has to undergo a series of stress tests in the final stage of production line. This can be achieved by connecting it to a dynamometer consisting of a three-phase machine joined by a rigid shaft to a DC load machine. The latter is controlled to create some specific load characteristic needed for the test. In this paper a test method is proposed, in which no mechanical equipment is needed. The suggested test stand consists only of a inverter to be tested and a simulator converter. Both devices are connected back- to-back on the AC-side via smoothing reactors. The simulator operates in real-time as an equivalent load circuit, so that the device under test will only notice the behaviour of a three-phase machine under consideration of the load. In odor to wove rightness of the suggested test method, the simulation and actural experiment rallied out emulation for a 2.2kW induction motor.

  • A multi-channel mechanical test machine for HANARO was designed and fabricated based on the design criteria of the multi-channel mechanical test machine sustained at the working conditions of $<400{\square}$, 3 W/g of gamma heating rate, $5{\times}10^{20}\;n/cm^2$, neutron flux and maximum load of 200 MPa. The multi-channel mechanical test machine made of 304 stainless steel consisted of four modules. Two of them locate upper part of the machine and the others locate lower part with 90 degree rotation. Each module was evaluated by determine load-displacement curve of zirconium specimen. Thermal insulators were also made by electron spark-machining of pure aluminum which was prepared in a domestic company.

  • An advanced training machine designed for elderly people is proposed. The training machine allows users to have a safe and effective training through exercise close to ordinal motion appears in daily life such as standing up/down motion. The activation level of user's muscle is real timely monitored during the exercise and the training load is adjusted based on the body information. The training load is exerted and continuously controlled by actuation of an air cylinder.
