An Efficient Modeling of Inlay/Onlay Prostheses using Computer Graphics Deformation Techniques (컴퓨터 그래픽스 변형 기법을 이용한 인레이/온레이 보철물의 효율적인 모델링)

  • 하나의 치아가 일부 파손되어 수복되어야 할 보철물을 인레이/온레이(Inlay/Onlay)라 한다. 본 논문에서는 3차원 메쉬 기반 모델에서 보다 정확한 인레이/온레이를 효과적으로 모델링하기 위한 기법을 제안한다. 인레이/온레이는 지대치와 접하는 내면과 밖으로 들어나는 외면으로 구성된다. 인레이/온레이의 내면 모델링은 2차원 다각선상의 Minkowski Sum 알고리즘을 이용하여 지대치와의 접합력을 확보한다. 그리고 미리 데이터베이스에 저장된 표준 치아 모델, 치과의사에 의해 만들어진 FGP(functionally guided plane) 및 메쉬의 변형 기법인 DMFFD(direct manipulation free-form deformation) 기법[16]과 MWD(multiple wires deformation) 기법[24]을 이용하여 외면을 모델링한다. 데이터베이스에 저장된 표준 치아는 인레이/온레이 외면의 형태를 결정하기 위해 사용되며, FGP는 환자의 인접면과 교합면의 특성을 반영하기 위해 사용되었다. 마지막으로 3차원 메쉬의 두 변형 기법인 DMFFD와 MWD 기법은 환자의 인접면과 교합면을 반영한 치아의 형태를 만들어 내기 위해 사용된다. 본 논문에서 제안한 방법은 인레이/온레이의 내면과 외면을 설계할 때 필요한 정보를 미리 설정하여 처리하므로 기존의 방법에 비해 짧은 시간에 보다 정확한 인레이/온레이를 설계할 수 있었다.

와전류시험에 의한 조사핵연료봉의 건전성 평가

  • 고리원자력1호기에서 각각 2주기, 4주기동안 연소한 핵연료봉 G33-N2(평균연소도:3464MWD/MTU) 및 G23-14(평균연소도:13917MWD/MTU)에 대하여 와전류시험을 수행한 결과 G33-N2 핵연료봉 하단으로부터 각각 2290mm, 2878mm 위치에 관통결함신호와 내부결함신호를 얻었다. 또한 G23-l4 핵연료봉에서는 ridge 와전류신호를 획득하였다. 비파괴적 와전류시험을 통하여 관통결함 및 내부결함으로 예측된 위치에서 파괴적 금속조직시험을 수행하여 얻은 결과는 와전류시험결과와 잘 일치하였다 G23-l4 핵연료봉에서 획득한 ridge 와전류신호는 직경측정시험결과와 비슷한 경향을 보여 주었다. 따라서 와전류시험을 통하여 핵연료봉에 대한 건전성 평가 도구로서의 그 신뢰성이 양호함을 실증하였으며 핵연료봉의 ridge 정보도 제공할 수 있음을 입증하였다.

등가연소도 최적화를 위한AMBIDEXTER 핵연료 재생공정의 시간상수 특성화 연구

  • AMBIDEXTER(Advanced Molten-Salt Break even Inherently-Safe Dual-Mission EXperiment & TEst Reactor)는 토륨-우라늄 연료주기의 핵적자활성 요건을 설계하는 방법으로써 핵분열중간 생성물인 $^{233}$ Pa의 시간격리, 노내 방사성물질 농도저감, 잉여반응도 및 증식률향상을 위해 핵분열 생성물질의 온라인 정화.처리.재생 개념을 채택하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 AMBIDEXTER 로심의 핵분열성물질의 연소와 온라인 정화.처리에 따른 핵연료내 원소분포 변화를 기술하기 위해 핵분열생성물질의 평형포화농도에 대응하는 등가연소도(Equivalent Burnup)를 정의하고 이를 노심의 핵적자활성 요건에 대해 최적화하는 핵연료 정화공정의 시간상수 특성을 시뮬레이션 하였다. 핵분열생성물질농도의 동특성은 ORIGEN2 코드에 내장된 연속재처리 모델을 이용하여 해석하였으며 실용화가 입증된 후보정화공정들을 고려하여 모든 핵종을 5종의 핵종군으로 분류하여 평가하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 유효정화주기를 0.1 (노심장전량/일)로 연속재처리 할 때 노심내 포화등 가연소도는 약 650 (MWD/TeH.E.)로 대응되며 이때 동일한 핵연료량으로부터 생성된 노내 핵분 열생성물질 평형농도는 최대연소도 33000MWD/TeU의 PWR 평형노심 BOC시의 대비해 약 1/10 에 해당하는 양이 잔유하는 것으로 나타났다.

Slab Thickness Calculations on Hot Cell

  • Numerical computations of radioactivities and decay energies in a spent fuel have been carried out for designing of a hot cell. Optimum wall and window thicknesses that can preserve spent fuel rods for experimental purposes are estimated with burnup rate of 33,000 MWD/T(U) which is nearly maximum from a pressurized water reactor such as the Go-Ri Unit 1. Before putting the spent fuels into a hot cell, it is assumed for thickness estimates of shield materials that they are cooled in a storage tay for several lime intervals. Considered are various types of shield materials through which changing the distances from a source to an observation point is also made.

The Effect of Treadmill Gait Training in an Adjusted Position from Functional Training System on Chronic Stroke Patients' Walking and Balance Ability (기능적 훈련 시스템을 이용한 조절된 자세에서의 트레드밀 보행훈련이 만성 뇌졸중 환자의 보행 기능과 균형에 미치는 효과)

  • PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of treadmill gait training in an adjusted position from the functional training system on the gait and balance of chronic stroke patients. METHODS: Thirty chronic stroke patients were randomly assigned to either the experimental group, who received treadmill gait training in an adjusted position, or the control group, who received regular treadmill gait training. Both groups underwent a 30-minute comprehensive rehabilitation treatment before receiving an additional 20-minute treadmill gait training. This routine was repeated five times a week for four weeks. To measure the difference before and after training in walking and balance, patients were scored on the following: 10 m walking test (10 MWT), 6 minute walking distance (6 MWD), timed up and go test (TUG), and static standing balance test (stability index). RESULTS: While post-training scores of 10 MWT, 6 MWD, TUG, and stability index for both groups increased significantly compared with pre-training (p<.05), the experimental group showed greater improvement than the control group (p<.05). The scores of the experimental group increased significantly by 9% in the 10 MWT, 11% in 6 MWD, 13% in the TUG, 8% in the stability Index (eye opened), and 10% in the stability index (eye closed). CONCLUSION: Treadmill gait training in an adjusted position from the functional training system would be a useful gait training method to improve walking and balance of chronic stroke patients.

Study of morphology on the Oxidation and the Annealing of High Burn-hp $UO_2$ Spent Fuel (고연소도 사용후 핵연료의 가열산화와 고온가열을 통한 미세조직 변화고찰)

  • The morphology of the high burnup $UO_2$ spent fuel, which was oxidized and annealed in a PIA (Post Irradiation Annealing) apparatus, has been observed. The high burnup fuel irradiated in Ulchin Unit 2, average rod burnup 57,000 MWd/tU, was transported to the KAERI's PIEF. The test specimen was used with about 200 mg of the spent $UO_2$ fuel fragment of the local burnup 65,000 MWd/tU. This specimen was annealed at $1400^{\circ}C$ for 4hrs after the oxidation for 3hrs to grain boundary using the PIA apparatus in a hot-cell. In order to oxidize the grain boundary, the oxidation temperature increased up to $500^{\circ}C$ and held for 3hrs in the mixed gas (60 ml He and 100 ml STD-air) atmosphere. The amount of 85Kr during the whole test process was measured to know the fission gas release behavior using the online system of a beta counter and a gamma counter. The detailed micro-structure was observed by a SEM to confirm the change of the fuel morphology after this test. As the annealing temperature increased, the fission products were observed to move to the grain surface and grain boundary of the $UO_2$ matrix. This specimen was re-structured through the reduction process, and the grain sizes were distributed from 5 to $10\;{\mu}m$.

Relationship between Water Stable Aggregate and Macroporosity in Upland Soils Calculated by Fragmentation Fractal Dimension (파쇄프랙탈차원을 이용한 밭토양 내수성입단과 대공극률의 관계 평가)

  • The objectives of this study were to investigate the aggregate fragmentation in wet-sieving and to evaluate the relationship between the aggregate fragmentation fractal dimension and macro-porosity of upland soils, using three different textural types of soils including Gopyeng series (Fine, Typic Hapludalfs), Gyuam series (Fine silty over coarse silty, Fluvaquentic Eutrudepts), and Jungdong series (Coarse loamy, Typic Udifluvents) located in Gyeonggi province. Undisturbed soil samples with five replicates were seasonally sampled and used for measuring water stable aggregate, macropores, and physico-chemical properties of soils. The aggregate stability in wet-sieving was digitalized as three types of fragmentation fractal dimension ($D_f$), geometric mean diameter (GMD), and mean weight diameter (MWD). $D_f$ had higher correlation with GMD than with MWD. Seasonal aggregate stability showed the highest values in summer, and decreased in the order of spring and autumn. The macroporosity had higher in topsoil, in autumn, and in ridge, than in plow pan layer, in summer, and in row, respectively. The relationship between $D_f$ and macroporosity, especially more than 99 m, showed high correlation only in soils with $D_f$ less than 3.1, which means more aggregated soils compared to soils with $D_f$ more than 3.1. Besides, in the soils with the fractal dimension less than 3.1, the power function relation between saturated hydraulic conductivity and macroporosity more than 99 m had relatively high determinant coefficient, and vice versa. Therefore, it could be thought that fragmentation fractal dimension is available for confirming macroporosity induced from aggregation.

Effects of a Short-term Home-based Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program in Patients with Chronic Lung Disease (만성폐질환자를 위한 가정 호흡재활 단기 프로그램의 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to exam the effects of a short-term pulmonary program on lung function, exercise tolerance, and quality of life in chronic lung patients. Method: Randomized controlled pre-post test design was used. The outcome measures were forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1, % predicted), 6 min walking distance (6MWD), Borg score after 6MWD, and Chronic Respiratory Disease Questionnaire (CRDQ). Experimental group performed the 4-week home-based pulmonary rehabilitation program composed of inspiratory muscle training, upper and lower extremity exercise, relaxation, and telephone visit. Patients in control group were only given education about self-management strategies. Thirty four patients with moderate-to-severe respiratory impairment were recruited, and 28 patients (19 in experiments, 15 in control) completed the study. Result: Significant improvements in lung function, exercise tolerance, and health related quality of life were found only in the experiment group. Conclusion: This study yielded evidence for the potential and beneficial effects of home-based pulmonary rehabilitation program in patients with moderate to severe chronic lung disease. The program could be adequately utilized for improvement of health related quality of life in chronic lung patients.

Multiple wall dampers for multi-mode vibration control of building structures under earthquake excitation

  • One of the main concerns of civil engineering researchers is developing or modifying an energy dissipation system that can effectively control structural vibrations, and keep the structural response within tolerable limits during unpredictable events like earthquakes, wind and any kind of thrust load. This article proposes a new type of mass damper system for controlling wideband earthquake vibrations, called Multiple Wall Dampers (MWD). The basic principle of the Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) was used to design the proposed wall damper system. This passive energy dissipation system does not require additional mass for the damping system because the boundary wall mass of the building was used as a damper mass. The multi-mode approach was applied to determine the location and design parameters of the dampers. The dampers were installed based on the maximum amplitude of modes. To optimize the damper parameters, the multi-objective optimization Response Surface Methodology was used, with frequency response and maximum displacement as the objective functions. The obtained structural responses under different earthquake forces demonstrated that the MWD is one of the most capable tools for reducing the responses of multi-storied buildings, and this system can be practically used for new and existing building structures.
