Force Control of Hybrid Actuator Comprising DC Motor and MR Brake (DC 모터와 MR 브레이크로 이루어진 하이브리드 구동기의 힘 제어)

  • This paper presents the control method for the hybrid actuator comprising a DC motor and an MR brake. Generally, a DC motor as an active actuator has a small power to weight ratio and goes unstable with higher force control gain due to its saturation limit. In order to cope with this instability and make the transparency higher, this paper proposes a hybrid actuator which consists of a DC motor and an MR brake as a passive actuator and its force control method based on network theory. A DC motor actively produces the output corresponding to the signs of the input currents. On the other hand, an MR brake passively resists against the external load independent of the sign changes of the input currents. This characteristics is widely known as 'passive' This paper suggests a force control method based on passivity concept in network theory for the hybrid actuator and verified its performance and stability through the experiments.

  • LED(Light Emitting Diode)는 친환경적 특성, 긴 수명, 우수한 효율, 빠른 응답 속도 등의 장점이 있어 최근 기존의 백열 전등 및 형광등을 대체하는 조명 수단으로 각광받고 있다. 기존의 LED구동회로를 조광기용 MR16안정기에 연결할 경우 안정기와 조광기의 오동작으로 인해 Flicker 현상이 발생되고 선형적인 Dimming이 불가능하다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 MR16 안정기와 조광기용 MR16안정기를 호환하는 Flicker Free LED 구동회로를 제안한다. 또한 LED구동회로의 원리와 Dimming에 따른 LED전류제어기법 원리를 설명하고 모의실험 및 시작품 제작을 통해 제안 회로의 타당성을 검증한다.

  • This paper presents dynamic characteristics of a new actuator using magneto-rheological(MR) fluid between two electrode type coils. The concept of the actuator is to strengthen the force due to the magnetic field produced by the electrode-coil for MR fluid. The amount and direction of current input to the electrode-coils decide the characteristics of contraction-mode and extension-mode. For achieving the required actuating displacement and actuating force, the yield stress of the MR fluid between two electrode-coils is precisely changed by the input current. In this work, the MR fluid is operated in squeeze mode. The experimental results shown in this paper depict that it can be applied in the micro-level displacement and vibration control system.

  • This paper proposes a new type of MR (magentorheological) fluid based suspension system and applies it to military vehicle for vibration control. The suspension system consists of gas spring and MR damper. The nonlinear behavior of spring characteristics is evaluated with respect to the wheel travel and damping force model due to viscosity and yield stress of MR fluid is derived. Subsequently, a military vehicle of 6WD is adopted for the integration of the MR suspension system and its nonlinear dynamic model is establishes by considering vertical, pitch and roll motion. Then, a sky-hook controller associated with semi-active actuating condition is designed to reduce the vibration. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed MR suspension system, computer simulation is undertaken showing vibration control performance such as roll angle and pitch angle evaluated under bump and random road profiles.

  • LED(Light Emitting Diode) is a semiconductor device utilizing electroluminescent effect is a phenomenon in which a type of P-N junction diode, the light of short wavelength which a voltage is applied in the forward direction is released. LED is advantageous in reducing the energy as environmentally materials that can greatly reduce the carbon emissions, recent it has attracted attention IT(Information Technology) and GT(Green Technology) industry. In addition, there are advantages long life, high efficiency, and excellent response speed, LED have come into the spotlight as the illumination means to replace the existing fluorescent light and incandescent light bulb. When connecting to MR16 electronic transformer for existing LED driver circuit, due to malfunction of the dimmer and the electronic transformer, flicker occurs and linear dimming is not possible. Therefore, in this paper, we suggest an LED drive circuit there is no flicker with the corresponding dimming MR16 electronic transformer. Further, we explain the principles of the LED current control technique and the principle of the drive circuit of the LED, in order to validate the proposed circuit through prototyping and simulation.

  • 가상현실(Virtual Reality, VR), 증강현실(Augmented Reality, AR), 혼합현실(Mixed Reality, MR) 분야에 유용한 인간 컴퓨터 인터페이스 기술은 필수적이다. 특히 휴먼 손동작 인식 기술은 직관적인 상호작용을 가능하게 하여, 다양한 분야에서 편리한 컨트롤러로 사용할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 뎁스 영상 기반의 1 인칭 시점 손동작 인식을 위하여 손동작 데이터베이스 생성 시스템을 구축하여, 손동작 인식기 학습에 필요한 1 인칭(Egocentric View Point) 데이터베이스를 촬영하여 제작한다. 그리고 모바일 Head Mounted Device(HMD) VR 을 위한 뎁스 영상 기반 1 인칭 시점 손동작 인식(Hand Pose Recognition, HPR) 딥러닝 Deep Residual Network 를 구현한다. 최종적으로, 안드로이드 모바일 디바이스에 학습된 Residual Network Regressor 를 이식하고 모바일 VR 에 실시간 손동작 인식 시스템을 구동하여, 모바일 VR 상 실시간 3D 손동작 인식을 가상 물체와의 상호작용을 통하여 확인 한다.
