  • Consumption and selling of Non Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) are important means to meet nutritional requirements and improve the socio-economic conditions of the rural population. The purpose of this study was to document the status and utilization pattern and assess the economic value of NTFPs sold in the markets of the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) of Arunachal Pradesh. Five major markets with 182 vendors were surveyed, and a total of 94 plant-based products under 63 species belonging to 32 families were found to be sold in the markets. Species like Acmella oleracea, Clerodendrum glandulosum, Dioscorea alata, Houttuynia cordata, Phoebe goalparensis, Piper pedicellatum, Zanthoxylum rhetsa, etc. are found to be highly preferred and have a higher demand in the local markets. The edible products of species like Piper pedicellatum and Phoebe goalparensis though highly consumed in the study area, are used only within the region, and the national and international demands of the species are nil. The animal-base products are not included in the study.

  • Wireless sensor network is wieldy use for IoT application. The sensor node consider as physical device in IoT architecture. This all sensor node are operated with battery so the power consumption is very high during the data communication and low during the sensing the environment. Without proper planning of data communication the network might be dead very early so primary objective of the cluster based routing protocol is to enhance the battery life and run the application for longer time. In this paper we have comprehensive of twenty research paper related with clustering based routing protocol. We have taken basic information, network simulation parameters and performance parameters for the comparison. In particular, we have taken clustering manner, node deployment, scalability, data aggregation, power consumption and implementation cost many more points for the comparison of all 20 protocol. Along with basic information we also consider the network simulation parameters like number of nodes, simulation time, simulator name, initial energy and communication range as well energy consumption, throughput, network lifetime, packet delivery ration, jitter and fault tolerance parameters about the performance parameters. Finally we have summarize the technical aspect and few common parameter must be fulfill or consider for the design energy efficient cluster based routing protocol.

  • MODIS/Terra level 3 and NCEP/NCAR Reanalysis data from 2001 to 2008 have been analyzed to understand long-term aerosol and cloud optical properties, and their relationships around Korea. Interestingly, cloud fraction(CF) has the similar annual variation to aerosol optical depth (${\tau}_a$) without any temporal significant trend. Horizontal distributions of ${\tau}_a$ showed the substantial horizontal gradient from China to Korea, especially with the strong difference over the Yellow Sea, which could represent the evidence of the anthropogenic influence from China in the perspective of long-term average. Specifically the negative correlations between ${\tau}_a$ and liquid-phase cloud effective radius ($r_e$) were shown on the monthly-average basis, only in summer with significant associations over the Yellow Sea, but not in the other seasons and/or specific regions. Relationship between ${\tau}_a$ and CF for the low-level liquid-phase clouds exhibited the overall positive correlation, being consistent with cloud lifetime effect. Meanwhile static stability showed no deterministic relationships with ${\tau}_a$ as well as CF. The dependence of aerosol-cloud relationship on the meteorological conditions should be examined more in detail with the satellite remote sensing and reanalysis data.

  • The Land Surface Temperature (LST) is one of the significant factors to understand the water and energy cycles between the land surface and atmosphere. However, few previous studies for spatio-temporal variations of LST has been investigated. In this study, we conducted comparative analyses between the Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite (COMS) and MOderate-Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) LST data. We compared COMS data with observations to identify the accuracy and found relative underestimated patterns of the COMS data as compared to observations. We also found that COMS LST were underestimated in compare to MODIS LST. The Terra LST was verified to have more similar trends with the COMS LST rather than Aqua LST. While we identified the applicability of COMS based on the results of similar tendencies of two comparisons, more intensive validation research at a variety of field conditions should be conducted to gurantee current COMS LST.

  • Intraneuronal deposition containing $\alpha$-synuclein is implicated in the pathogenesis of synuclein-opathies including Parkinsons disease (PD). Although it has been demonstrated that cytoplas-mic inclusions of wild type $\alpha$-synuclein are observed in the brain of PD patients and that $\alpha$-synuclein mutations such as A30P and A53T accelerate aggregate formation, the exact mech-anism by which $\alpha$-synuclein forms insoluble aggregates is still controversial. In the present study, to understand the possible involvement of tissue transglutaminase (tTG) in aggregate formation of $\alpha$-synuclein, SH-SY5Y cell lines stably expressing wild type or mutant (A30P or A53T) $\alpha$-synuclein were created and aggregate formation of $\alpha$-synuclein was observed upon activation of tTG. The data demonstrated that $\alpha$-synuclein negligibly interacted with tTG and that activation of tTG did not result in the aggregate formation of $\alpha$-synuclein in SH-SY5Y cells overexpressing either wild type or mutant $\alpha$-synuclein. In addition, $\alpha$-synuclein was not modi-fied by activated tTG in situ. These data suggest that tTG is unlikely to be a contributing factor to the formation of aggregates of $\alpha$-synuclein in a stable cell model.

  • After preparation of the bone bed, two doubly loaded suture anchors with suture eyelets are inserted at the articular margin of the greater tuberosity. A retrograde suture-passing instrument penetrates the rotator cuff to retrieve the sutures through the modiWed Neviaser or subclavian portal. An ipsilateral pair of suture eyelets in the suture anchor is passed through the margins of the rotator cuff tear. The blue suture of the second and third pair is pulled out of the lateral cannula, and the threaded blue suture of the third pair in the needle is passed through the blue suture of the second pair. After retrieving the blue suture of the firrst pair through the anterior portal, it is pulled out to pass the blue suture of the third pair through the eyelet of the anteromedial anchor. The blue suture is linked between two anchors. The medial row of suture bridge is repaired with a sliding knot, and the sutures are not cut. Once the rotator cuff repair using the suture-bridge technique has been performed, the two blue strands in the anterior portal are tied. We describe our technique that possesses the advantages of both the double-pulley and suturebridge techniques, which improves the pressurized contact area and maximizes compression along the medial row.

  • This study aimed to propose the method of linking satellite image-based forest fire data to supplement the limitation of forest fire survey data that records only the ignition location and area of forest fire. For this purpose, a method was derived to link the fire survey data provided by the Korea Forest Service between January 2012 and December 2019 with MODIS and VIIRS image-based forest fire data. As a result, MODIS and VIIRS-based forest fire data out of 191 wildfires in the forest fire survey data were able to identify 11% and 44% of fire damage area, respectively. An average of 56% of forest damage area was extracted from VIIRS-based forest fire data compared to forest fire areas identified by high-resolution Sentinel-2A satellites. Therefore, for large-scale forest fires, VIIRS wildfire data can be used to compensate for the limitations of forest fire survey data that records only the ignition location and area.

  • Recently, floating green algae (FGA) in open oceans and coastal waters have been reported over wide area, yet accurate detection of these using traditional ground based measurement and chemical analysis in the laboratory has been difficult or even impossible due to the lack of spatial resolution, coverage, and revisit frequency. In contrast, spectral reflectance measurement makes it possible to quickly assess the chlorophyll content in green algae. Our objectives are to investigate the spectral reflectance of the FGA observed in the Yellow Sea and to develop a new index to detect FGA from satellite imagery, namely floating green algae index (FGAI), which uses relatively simple reflectance ratio technique. The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) and Geostationary Ocean Color Imager (GOCI) satellite images at 500m spatial resolution were utilized to produce FGAI which is defined as the ratio between reflectance at 860nm and 660nm bands. Both FGAI results yielded reasonable green algae detection at the regional scale distribution. Especially houly GOCI observations can present more detaield information of FGAI than low-orbit satellite.

  • The enormous disaster (Friday nightmare) occurred at 14:46 (JST) (05:46 UTC) on 11 March 2011, officially named "the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami". To monitor the variations of the marine environment after the earthquake, we used chlorophyll and Rrs(555) of GOCI and MODIS ocean color satellite data during March ~ May 2011. Before the earthquake, chlorophyll and Rrs(555) were relatively low around the Sendai areas. After the earthquake;their concentration and intensity were suddenly increased along the coast and the water column was disturbed by the tsunami wave. The severe distortions influenced by the tsunami occurred at less than 30 m water depth and the variations in offshore were difficult to discern the effect of the tsunami. The disturbance by the tsunami was still remained in the terrestrial environment after one month. However the ocean environment returned to the former condition in almost two month later.

  • With high temporal resolution, four times receiving during a day, MODIS images from Terra and Aqua satellites provide several advantages for monitoring spacious land. Especially, diverse MODIS products related to land, atmosphere, and ocean have been provided with radiance MODIS images. The products such as surface reflectance, NDVI, cloud mask, aerosol etc. are based on theoretical algorithms developed in academic areas. Comparing with other change detection studies mainly using the vegetation index, this study investigated temporal surface reflectance of landcovers for five years from 2004 to 2008. The near infrared (NIR) reflectance in urbanized and burned areas showed considerable difference before and after events. The specific characteristics of surface reflectance temporal profiles are possibly useful for the detection of landcover changes and classification.
