In order to improve the properties of the copolymer and the terpolymer that was used as removal-type pressure sensitive adhesive(PSA), we synthesized quaterpolymer with the variation of the types of monomer, initiator, and solvent, and concentration, the monomer/solvent ratio, reaction temperature and time. and determined the properties of this adhesive: the viscosity, molecular weight, conversion, solid content and structure of polymer. The prepared polymer was crosslinked by changing the type of crosslinking agent and concentration, and then we investigated the characteristics or adhesive such as peel adhesion, shear adhesion, heat resistance, weathering resistance and peel adhesion to aging. The optimum performance of RA/2- EHA/MMA/2-HEMA as a PSA were obtained when benzoyl peroxide was used as an initiator with the reactant mixture consisted of 80% BA and 2-EHA, 15%, MMA, and 5% 2-HFMA. The optimum reaction temperature and time were $80^{\circ}C$ and 8 hours, respectively. For BA/2-EHA/MMA/AA, the optimum performance was obtained when the polymerization was performed at the monomer composition of 80% BA/2-EHA, 15% MMA, and 5% AA. BPO was used as initiator and the optimum reaction temperature and time were identical to those of BA/2-EHA/MMA/ 2-HEMA. Isocyanate and melamine were used to crosslink BA/2-EHA/MMA/2-HEMA and BA/2-EHA/MMA/AA, respectively. No effect on the type of cross-linking agent on the peel adhesion was observed with aging. The quarterpolymers crosslinked with melamine left residues on the counter surface after weathering resistance test, while the polymers crosslinked with isocyanate did not.

In this paper, first we went through the deliming and degreasing as pre-treatment of limed pelt scrap which is derived from liming process during leather manufacturing processing. After that, we produced fine collagen using non-chrome tanning and heat treatment and using acryl monomer graft polymerization such as GMA and MMA. From the comparisonof final products made by various methods, they showed good features in pyrolysis temperature, heat-resisting, variation of moisture content and particle distribution.

The acrylic coating emulsions were prepared by the emulsion polymerization to protect the surface of steel plate from the corrosion chemicals like acid, base and salt water. MMA(methyl methacrylate), styrene, BA(butyl acrylate), and 2-HEMA(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) were used as monomer. KPS(potassium persulfate) and SBS(sodium bisulfite) as redox initiator and SDBS(sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate) as emulsifier were used on the emulsion polymerization reaction. The most stable in-situ coating was obtained when 10% of MMA was added. Both particle size and quantity in emulsion were decreased as increasing the mount of SDBS. the most stable prepared coating emulsion with polyisocyanate crosslinker showed very high anticorrosion properties on the coated steel layer to salt water, whereas no significant improvement of anticorrosion property to acdic and basic condition it showed.
In this research, polydimethylsiloxane-polymethylmethacrylate (PDMS-PMMA) block copolymer was synthesized from polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and methylmethacrylate (MMA) monomer using atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). The synthesis characterization of the PDMS-b-PMMA copolymer membrane was carried out by a FT-IR, $^1H$-NMR, GPC and DSC. The permeabilities of nitrogen and hydrogen gases were observed being $1.2{\sim}l.5$ barrer and $6.2{\sim}10.5$ barrer, respectively. Simultaneously, selectivities of hydrogen against nitrogen were $5.3{\sim}6.9$. The permeability and selectivity of PDMS-b-PMMA copolymer membrane were showed lower than the PDMS membrane, but higher than the PMMA membrane.
Experimental researches on the preparation of porous polymeric monoliths in supercritical carbon dioxide have been performed and the effects of monomer and polymerization parameters on the physical properties of the monolith prepared were examined. Polymerizations were carried out in the high pressure stainless steel reactor with sapphire window to show the phase change during the polymerization reaction, and continuous and dry porous monolithic polymer could be obtained. The specific surface area of monolithic polymer increased with monomer contents in reaction mixture and reaction pressure. The Rockwell hardness could be enhanced by the addition of co-monomer MMA in reaction mixtures.

The purpose of this study is synthesizing silicone polymer which is used the material of contact lens and solving the problems of water content and light transmittance for gas permeable contact lens. We used NVP, MMA, HEMA monomer for polymerization and EGDMA as cross linking regent. Also, we polymerized with a several formulation arrangement for the best condition as contact lens. After that. we measured water content and light transmittance by each sample which was polymerized. We polymerized the silicone polymer which is simultaneously pursued by the transparent and water content of the material and measured their physical nature of each sample on this study.
Many studies have been carried out on the graft finishing in order to improve the quality of silk fiber. Various vinyl monomers, for instance, styrene, methylmethacrylate, 2-hydroxyeth-ylmethacrylate and methacrylamide, have been used practically up to date. Among these monomers, methacrylamide has been applied as the most favourable monomer onto silk fibers in recent years. The polymerization mechanism about styrene- and methylmethacrylate-grafted silk fiber has been studied by many researchers. They proposed that free radicals were formed and vinyl monomers were polymerized in silk fibroin by graft polymerization mechanism, while active sites were varied by the types of monomer and initiator as well as by the reaction condition. In general. there is another Opinion that monomers are polymerized and impregnated in the internal side of the fiber by homopolymerization, which has not been proved experimentally yet More than 10 years have been passed since methacrylamide was applied on the silk fiber, and at the present time most finishings are being achieved by methacrylamide. However, no attention has been paid to the polymerization mechanism of the methacrylamide-treated silk fiber yeL In this paper, the treatments of methacrylamide on silk fibers were studied in aqueous solution using potassium persulfate as an initiator. The polymerization mechanism of the methacrylamide-treated silk fibers was investigated and analyzed on the basis of the results of infrared spectroscopy, amino acid analysis and scanning electron microscopy. From the results of these instrumental analyses, it can be suggested that polymerization mechanism about the methacrylamide-treated silk fibers is not performed by graft polymerization which has been accepted generally in styrene and methylmethacrylate-grafted silk fibers. The different mechanism is supposed to be due to the difference in monomer types, initiator types and treatment conditions.

Ethylene was polymerized with a catalyst having sterically hindered pentamethylcyclopentadienyl ligand, $Cp^{\ast}_{2}ZrCl_{2}/MAO$, and the polymerization mixture were treated with dry oxygen (oxidative workup) to produce hydroxyl-terminated polyethylenes (PE-OH). Polyethylene-block-Poly (${\Box}-caprolactone$) was synthesized from PE-OH and ${\cdot}\^{A}-caprolactone$A by using stannous octoate as a catalyst for ring opening polymerization of ${\cdot}\^{A}-caprolactone$. Polyethylene-block-Poly(methyl methacrylate) was obtained by transforming the hydroxyl-terminated polyethylenes to macroinitiators for atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) and by reacting them with MMA.
A number of hydrophilic acrylic comonomers were incorporated into styrene-butadiene soap-free emulsion polymerization. It was found that reaction rate decreased according to : AN>AA>MMA>EA>IA>AAM>MA>HEMA. It was also observed that reaction rate increased with decreasing H-bonding factor contribution to the solubility parameter of the hydrophilic comonoer. The SBR latexes were very monodisperse with the particle size distribution of $1.03{\times}1.12$. Since growth rate is proportional to polymerization time, the difference in conversion rates between various comonomers was resulted from the particle number density of SBR latexes for the various hydrophilic comonomers. It was also found that the colloidal stability of the latexes was excellent because no external emulsifier was incorporated.

PMMA plate with nano-sized pattern was synthesized on anodized aluminum oxide template by bluk polymerization method. Anodized aluminum oxide was used as a template to synthesize the PMMA plate with nano-sized pattern. The polymerization of MMA was performed at $75-79^{\circ}C$. It is verified from SPM results that the nano-sized pattern on synthesized PMMA plate was well transferred from that of anodized aluminum oxide template.
