This paper implements SCM(Spatial Channel Model), a kind of ray-tracing method which has characteristics similar to realistic wave propagation environments, for link-level performance analysis of OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) based multiple antenna systems. The SCM is proposed by 3GPP & 3GPP2 Spatial Channel AHG(Ad-hoc Group) for system-level performance validation. In this paper, we modify the system level parameters and channel coefficient of SCM to compare the link-level performances of OFDM based multiple antenna systems. Through computer simulations, we manifest the implemented SCM channel characteristics. We analyze a realistic link-level performance of OFDM based conventional MIMO(Multiple Input Multiple Output) system and smart antenna system in the implemented channel. We also include the link-level performance of OFDM based multiple antenna systems in I-METRA(Intelligent Multi Element Transmit and Receive Antenna) and independent channel environments with the same system parameters. We suggest appropriate multiple antenna system in the given environment by comparing the link-level performance in the spatial channels that have different channel correlation values.

In this paper polarization adaptivity on transmit has been used to enhance the received signals directed to a pre-selected receiver in a near-field multi-input multi-output (MIMO) environment. The objective here is to select a set of weights on the transmitting antennas adapted to individual receivers based on the principles of reciprocity. Using the polarization properties, when the number of receiving antennas is greater than the number of transmitting antennas, the transmitted signal may be directed more to a particular receiver location while simultaneously minimizing the reception signal strength at other receivers. Numerical simulations have been made to illustrate the novelty of the proposed approach.

The wireless communication channel different speed by depth of water or salt and it is influenced by multi-path according underwater. In the paper, MIMO(Multi-input-Multi-Output) system used turbo Equalizer combining Equalizer with Turbo codes for data rates by multi-path channel. we proposed and simulated that the Decision-Directed method used for phase offset. The simulation of proposed method show that the bit-error rate performance can be severely affected by phase errors.

This study presents an imaging algorithm that can provide an image of a moving target in a multiple-input-multiple-output radar environment where multiple transmitting and receiving radars are fixed on the ground. The proposed algorithm, which is based on polar format processing using plane wave approximation, is shown to provide an unaliased image by using multiple transmitting radars even when the distances between the receiving radars are relatively large. We derive the conditions necessary to deploy the transmitting radars by which the resolution of the reconstructed image can be improved, while simultaneously reducing aliasing artifacts. Moreover, we offer a means of separating out each transmitting radar target echo. Finally, the performance of the proposed system is verified through a simulation.

In this paper, Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) is combined with Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) multiplexing to improve the throughput performance of AMC. In addition, a system that adopts Selection Transmit Diversity (STD) in the AMC-MIMO multiplexing system is proposed. The received SNR is improved by adopting STD techniques. And it increases probability of selecting MCS (Modulation and Coding Scheme) level that supports higher data rate. This leads to an increased throughput of the AMC-MIMO system. STD in our simulation selects 2 transmission antennas from 4 antennas and AMC-MIMO multiplexing process operates with the selected antennas. The computer simulation is performed in flat Rayleigh fading channel. The results show that the proposed system achieves a gain of 1Mbps over the AMC-MIMO multiplexing system with the same number of antennas at 15dB SNR.

This paper proposes a prior maximum likelihood (ML) detection verifier which has an ability to verify if the zero forcing (ZF) detection results are identical to the ML detection results. Since more than 90% of ZF detection results are identical to ML detection results, the proposed verifier makes it possible to omit the computationally complex ML detection in 90% cases of MIMO signal detections. The proposed verifier is designed by using the diversity gain obtained from converting MIMO signal into single input multiple output (SIMO) signals. In the proposed method, single input multiple output (SIMO) signals for each transmit antenna are separated from MIMO signals after the MIMO signals are detected by ZF method. Computer simulations show that the true alarm probability of the proposed verifier is more than 80% and the false alarm probability is less than $10^{-4}$.

In this paper, we have evaluated and analyzed OTFS(Orthogonal Time Frequency Space) modulation and OTFS-MIMO(Multiple Input Multiple Output) system. OTFS modulation can concisely compensate delay-Doppler spreading effect by using 2D(2-Dimension) iDFT (inverse Discrete Fourier Transform) and DFT(Discrete Fourier Transform) operation. It enables OTFS system to transmit high-speed data. Especially, OTFS-MIMO system can transmit all data streams without performance degradation on high Doppler frequency channel. As simulation results, we have confirmed that $1{\times}1$ OTFS system's achievable rate is a similar to each stream of $2{\times}2$ OTFS-MIMO system. That is, we have also confirmed that $2{\times}2$ MIMO system can completely achieve double achievable rate in comparison with OTFS system on high Doppler frequency channel.
In this paper, we propose a carrier frequency offset estimation method for single-carrier MIMO systems. In the proposed method, phase rotated PN (Pseudo-Noise) sequences are transmitted to prevent a cancelling out of partial PN sequences. After removing a modulation of received PN sequences by multiplying of complex conjugated PN Sequences which are locally generated in receiver, a CFO (Carrier Frequency Offset) is accurately estimated by employing L&R method which is a kind of ML (Maximum Likelihood) estimation algorithm and uses multiple auto-correlatos. In addition, the frequency offset estimation scheme by using channel state information is proposed for accurate CFO estimation in time-varying Rayleigh channel. By performing computer simulations, MSE (Mean Square Error) performance of proposed method is almost same as MSE performance of SISO systems in AWGN channel. Moreover, MSE Performance of proposed method with using channel information is higher than MSE performances of SISO system and conventional method in time-varying Rayleigh channel.

In this paper, we have analyzed the performance of MIMO (Multi-Input Multi-Output) underwater acoustic communication by using the acquired data via the experiments in water tank. First of all, in the pursuit of this aim, we have measured the channel transfer characteristics at several transceiver locations. The transmitted signal was modulated by QPSK(Quadrature Phase Shit Keying) and the received signal was recovered through the detector that contains the zero forcing equalizer. A maximum 30~40 ms delay was appeared because of physically closed water tank environment that has the harsh multi-path transmission conditions. In result of experiment, even though the bit error rate showed comparatively large when $2{\times}2$ MIMO system with two transmitters and receivers was considered. However, we confirmed it has approximately 15% enhanced performance compared with SISO (Single-Input Single-Output) system.

Dirty Paper Coding(DPC) can achieve the sum capacity of a multiuser multiple-input multiple-output(MU MIMO) broadcast channels. However, due to the high computational complexity of the successive encoding and decoding, deploying DPC in real systems is impractical. As one of practical alternatives to DPC, Block Diagonalization(BD) was researched. BD is an extension of the zero-forcing preceding technique that eliminates interuser interference(IUI) in downlink MIMO systems. Though BD has lower complexity than DPC, BD shows poor sum capacity performance. We show that sum capacity performance of BD is degraded due to no IUI constraint. Then, we modify BD to improve its sum capacity performance with relaxing the constraint and sub optimal channel set searching. With simulation results, it can be verified that our modification in BD induces some improvement in sum capacity performance.
