  • Radar is a ground defense system that detects enemy aircraft and receives power from a mobile power supply in an emergency. Serious problems may occur if the equipment is damaged by impact during transportation for use. The US military standard MIL-STD-810H contains information on environmental tests such as shock and vibration applied to munitions. Therefore, in this study, the transient analysis of ANSYS 19.2 was performed using the impact data specified in MIL-STD-810H as an input value. Through this, the maximum stress generated in the impact environment of the mobile power supply container was derived, and the safety margin was calculated to confirm the reliability of the container.

  • The environmental tests are one of the key branches of the reliability tests. The purpose of the high/low environmental test of KT-1 Export Version Trainer is not only based on meeting the compliance of the reliability, customer satisfaction, but also for the expansion of its export. Amongst many existing environmental tests, the high and low temperature tests are considered as the two most important tests. The tests are considered and tailored to the high and low temperature methods of MIL-STD-810H. This paper proposes the tailoring processes and the results of High/Low temperature conditions, test procedures, and test profiles for the aircraft. Additionally, this paper is described by considering the view of MIL-STD-810H.

  • Environmental test is divided into operation test and storage test. The temperature of storage test is induced temperature which is considered with all sort of the heat source. Induced temperature is the temperature to be adapted to each item and platform and can be induced by computer simulation, laboratory, and real field test. We considered the induced temperature to be associated with solar heat source. In this research. First, we compared the induced temperature which be occurred by one experiment for thin plate in solar test chamber with the other one which be occurred by computer simulation to be SolidWorks 2007 COSMOS FloWorks. After this verification, we showed induced temperature which can be occurred when the test item is stored. Especially, we bring out the induced temperature by applying the ambient temperatures which is presented by MIL-STD-810F and brought out in preceding research.

  • The antenna is mounted on the vehicle and operated, so its components must be able to withstand the shock that may occur while driving. In this study, the stability of antenna mounted on the vehicle is verified through the connection between modal analysis and transient analysis. The shock data used was taken from MIL-STD-810H, METHOD 516.8. As a result of the analysis of antenna, the maximum equivalent stress 169.49MPa and minimum margin of safety 2.31 has occurred on the bracket of antenna. Thus, it was found that the antenna has enough stability during the operation.

  • This study analyzed the stability of antenna equipped on vehicles by the link of modal analysis and random vibration analysis with the vibration data of MIL-STD-810H, METHOD 514.8. As a result of the random vibration analysis of antenna, the maximum equivalent stress 41.9MPa and minimum margin of safety 8.37 was generated in the bracket of antenna by the vertical direction vibration. Thus, it was found that antenna has enough stability during the operation.

  • In this paper, the durability of an electromagnetic metamaterial absorber is verified in a temperature varying condition mimicking a maritime environment for the purpose of applying it to reduce the radar cross section of an integrated mast of the next-generation destroyer. To validate the durability, the reflectance of the electromagnetic metamaterial absorber was measured after storing it in a chamber that can control the temperature according to Procedure I of Method 501.7 included in MIL-STD-810H. Before and after the environmental test, both of the measured reflectances were retained less than -10 dB over the X band, that can guarantee the stealth functionality.

  • In times of war or emergencies, weapon systems, such as radars, must receive stable power. This can be achieved using improved onboard portable power systems made of steel containers. However, a breakdown can occur in the event of random vibration during transportation via a vehicle or train. Electrical-power shortages or restrictions pose a significant threat to security. In this study, Composite Wheeled Vehicle(CWV) data and rail cargo data with Acceleration Spectral Density(ASD), specified in MIL-STD-810H METHOD 514.8, were interpreted as input data of the three-axis random vibration method using ANSYS 19.2. Modal analysis was performed up to 500 Hz, and deformations in modes 1 to 117 were calculated to utilize all ASD data. The maximum equivalent stress in the three-axis direction was obtained using a random vibration analysis. Similarly, the margin of safety was calculated using the derived equivalent stress and material properties. Overall, the analysis verified that the portable container designed for the power supply system satisfied the required vibration demands.

  • In order to confirm the safety against vibration of high-pressure fittings for mobile hydrogen charging devices, the natural frequency was confirmed through ANSYS, and vibration data occurring during driving was applied to utilize the vehicle's operating power spectral density data specified in MIL-STD-810H regulations. Fatigue analysis and resonance were confirmed, and as a result, it was confirmed that the sum of the pure phase ratios was less than 1 for the driving history presented in the standard, and there was no risk of resonance.

  • By applying METHOD 514.8 of the US military standard MIL-STD-810H, vibration analysis of the winding core automatic feeding device was performed during vehicle transportation. The contact point between the LM guide and main support frame was weak in the vertical axis, transverse axis, and longitudinal axis during the transportation of the automatic winding core feeder vehicle, and the maximum equivalent stress was 236.31 MPa in the longitudinal axis. When random vibration was applied, the safety margin in the longitudinal direction was 0.26, indicating low safety. The safety margin was changed by increasing the damage factor to 0.1. Finally, the safety margin was improved to 3.48 to secure safety. Resonance occurred with a Q factor of 9.34 in the harmonic response to which the RMS value of the ASD data was input, and the vertical axis safety margin was derived as 0.16. When the damping factor was 0.15, the Q factor was 3.37, and resonance was avoided with a safety margin of 6.62.
