A Robustness Performance Improvement of MMA Adaptive Equalization Algorithm in QAM Signal Transmission (QAM 신호 전송에서 MMA 적응 등화 알고리즘의 Robustness 성능 개선)

  • This paper related with the M-CMA adaptive equalization algorithm which is possible to improve the residual isi and robustness performance compare to the current MMA algorithm that is reduce the intersymbol interference occurs in channel when transmitting the QAM signal. The current MMA algorithm depend on the cost function and error function using fixed signal dispersion constant, but the M-CMA algorithm depend on the new proposed cost function and error function using multiple dispersion constant. By this, it is possible to having robustness of the CMA and simultaneous compensation of amplitude and phase of MMA. The computer simulation was performed in the same channel and noise environment for compare the proposed M-CMA and current MMA algorithm. The equalizer output signal constellation, residual isi, MD, MSE learning courves and SER, represents the robustness were used for performance index. As a result of simulation, the M-CMA has more superior to the MMA in robustness and other performance index.

Study on the Characteristics of the dehumidification LDPE film (제습 LDPE 필름에 관한 특성 분석연구)

  • In this study, based on CMA which is increasingly used for eco-friendly deicing materials, dehumidification MB made of sodium carbonate, $MgCl_2$/MgO (M/M), and SAP is to be produced. And its moisture absorption rate and dehumidification performance of the film are to be analyzed. And the data on the materials used for the dehumidification film are to be acquired. In case of the dehumidification MB, in which CMA and SAP are mixed, had poor film machinability due to foaming and moisture issues, but adding bentonite and calcium carbonate solved the problem. When a foaming agent was added to extend surface area between substances, CMA and M/M showed no remarkable difference, but SC showed large increase to 3.15 g/g. As the result of anti-corrosive test, CMA dehumidification film showed no corrosion while SC showed pitting corrosion and M/M showed corrosion.

  • 본 논문에서는 MCMA(modified constant modulus algorithm) 블라인드 등화 알고리듬을 고속 데이터 통신에 적합한 FSE(fractionally spaced equalize.)에 적용시킨 FS-MCMA를 제안하였다. 제안한 FS-MCMA는 위상 복원문제와 같은 CMA의 단점을 보완하기 위하여 M-ary QAM 신호의 경우 다중레벨로 등화하는 기존의 MCMA 이용하였고 주기 T의 간격으로 수신되는 심볼을 2배 이상으로 샘플링하는 기법, 즉 FSE를 도입하여 높은 테이터율을 요구하는 멀티미디어 통신에 적합하도록 구성하였다. 컴퓨터 모의 실험을 시행한 결과를 residual ISI 측면에서 기준을 정하고 비교하였는데 4dB정도의 성능향상을 보였으며, 또한 기존의 CMA보다 154dB 정도의 성능향상을 보였다.

  • In this paper, the method which compensates the problem occurred in case M-ary QAM is applied to system is proposed. The conventional CMA has two problems, First, when M is larger than 4, it has a poor performance of equalizer due to a degradation of convergence property. Second, the phase of conventional CMA is distorted after convergence. To compensate these problems, we set the proper interval according to modulated signal when the signal using 16-QAM modulation method is equalized and use a different equalizing method for each interval. Using this method, the ISI is reduced and the performance of equalizing is improved. Also, the computer simulation using residual ISI shows an improved performance.

A Radiographic Analysis of the Feet in Heel Pain (뒤꿈치 통증이 있는 족부의 방사선학적 분석)

  • Purpose: This study is to compare the medial longitudinal arch between heel pain group and normal painless group. Materials and Methods: Heel pain group 242 feet and normal group 140 feet were evaluated through the radiographic images of standing foot-ankle lateral view. Four radiographic indices, talo-1stmetatarsal angle (TMA), calcaneal-1st metatarsal angle (CMA), calcaneal pitch angle (CPA), and arch ratio (AR), were used as well as BMI. Results: There was no difference between heel pain group and normal group in the TMA, CMA, CPA, and AR. But in the BMI, heel pain group showed $1.7\;kg/m^2$ (p=0.0002) higher than normal group. To eliminate the sexual error, male and female were evaluated separately. Male heel pain group showed 2.9 degrees more dorsiflexion (p=0.001) in the TMA, 3.1 degrees greater (p=0.007) in the CMA, 0.01 lower (p=0.028) in the AR, and $1.0\;kg/m^2$ greater (p=0.033) in the BMI than normal male group. There were no difference in the CPA. Female heel pain group showed 3.6 degree greater (p=0.035) in the CMA, and $1.9\;kg/m^2$ greater (p=0.002) in the BMI than normal female group. But other indices demonstrated no differences. Conclusion: talo-$1^{st}$ metatarsal angle, calcaneal-$1^{st}$ metatarsal angle and arch ratio were radiographic indices related with heel pain.

  • Objective : Based on immunological mechanisms, this study examined whether subcutaneous (s.c.) injection of Clematis mandshurica Maxim. water extract (CMA) has anti-inflammatory effects, and its effect on $TNF-{\alpha}$, IL-1 and IL-10 release from synoviocytes on adjuvant arthritis (AA) in the rat. Methods : Complete Freund's adjuvant was used to induce AA in rats. Synoviocytes were separated by the method of collagenase and DNase digestion Synoviocytes proliferation was assayed by 3-(4, 5 dimethylthiazol 2 yl)-2, 5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay. $TNF-{\alpha}$, IL-1 and interleukin-10 (IL-10) production of synoviocytes was measured with ELISA. The expression of IL-10 mRNA of synoviocytes was determined using RT PCR. Results : There were significant secondary inflammatory reactions in AA rats, accompanied by the decrease of body and immune organs weight simultaneously. Synoviocytes proliferation of AA rats significantly increased, and the levels of $TNF-{\alpha}$ and IL-1 in supernatants of synoviocytes in AA rats were also elevated compared with the sham group. The administration of CMA (2, 5, 10 mg/kg, s.c.) reduced the above changes significantly. In contrast to $TNF-{\alpha}$ and IL-1, IL-10 production and the level of its mRNA of synoviocytes in AA rats apparently decreased. CMA (2, 5, 10 mg/kg, s.c.) markedly increased IL-10 in synoviocytes at protein and transcription level. Conclusion : The results indicate that CMA has a beneficial effect on rat AA due to modulating inflammatory cytokine production of synoviocytes, which play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of this disease.

KIC 6206751: the first R CMa-type eclipsing binary with ɣ Doradus pulsations

  • We present the absolute properties of the double-lined eclipsing binary KIC 6206751 exhibiting multiperiodic pulsations. The Kepler light curve of this system was simultaneously solved with the previously published radial-velocity data. The results indicate that the binary star is a short-period semi-detached system with fundamental parameters of $M_1=1.66{\pm}0.04M_{\odot}$, $M_2=0.215{\pm}0.006M_{\odot}$, $R_1=1.53{\pm}0.02R_{\odot}$, $R_2=1.33{\pm}0.02R_{\odot}$, $L_1=5.0{\pm}0.6L_{\odot}$, and $L_2=0.96{\pm}0.09L_{\odot}$. We applied multiple frequency analyses to the eclipse-subtracted light residuals and detected the 42 frequencies below $2.5days^{-1}$. Among these, three independent frequencies of $f_2$, $f_3$, and $f_4$ can be identified as high-order ($38{\leq}n{\leq}40$) low-degree (l=2) gravity-mode oscillations, whereas the other frequencies may be orbital harmonics and combination terms. The ratios between the orbital frequency and the pulsation frequencies are $f_{orb}:f_{2-4}{\simeq}2:3$, which implies that the ${\gamma}$ Dor pulsations of the detached primary star may be excited by the tidal interaction of the secondary companion. The short orbital period, and the low mass ratio and $M_2$ demonstrate that KIC 6206751 is an R CMa-type star, which is most likely evolving into an EL CVn star. Of seven well-studied R CMa-type stars, our program target is the only eclipsing binary with a ${\gamma}$ Dor pulsating component.

  • This paper describes an equalizer using the DFE (Decision Feedback Equalizer) structure, CMA. (Constant Modulus Algorithm) and LMS (Least Mean Square) algorithms. We employ high speed multipliers, square logics and many CSAs (Carry Save Adder) for high speed operations. We have developed floating-point models and fixed-point models using the COSSAP$\^$TM/ CAD tool and developed VHDL models. We have peformed logic synthesis using the SYNOPSYS$\^$TM/ CAD tool and the SAMSUNG 0.5 $\mu\textrm{m}$ standard cell library (STD80). The total number of gates is about 130,000.

[ $^{13}CO$ ] OBSERVATIONS OF CMa OB1/RA REGION

  • A large scale $^{13}CO$(J=1-0) survey was made for CMa OB1/R1 region in $220^{\circ}{\le}{\iota}{\le}230^{\circ}$ and $-10^{\circ}{\le}b{\le}10^{\circ}$ with a 8' spacing by using the 4 m radio telescope of Nagoya University. 34 isolated clouds were identified in this survey. Among them, two clouds were firstly identified by us. The observed LSR velocity indicate that almost of the all clouds are located in the Local arm, except two extreme velocity. The mass spectrum of the clouds in the Local arm is best fitted by a power-law index of 1.6.

  • We propose a robust blind equalization algorithm based on quadrant-partitioned constellations for QAM demodulation. The algorithm divides the received M-QAM constellations into simple four quadrant. The channel equalization for symbols in each quadrant can be accomplished fast and reliably using the Constant Modulus Algorithm(CMA) and the Stop-and-Go Algorithm(SGA). Test results confirm that the proposed algorithm with lower complexity outperforms both the CMA and the SGA in reducing the SER as well as the MSE at the equalizer output.
