공기호흡과 관련된 왕종개(미꾸리과어류)의 호흡기관에 관한 연구 (Study on the Respiratory Organ of Spined Loach, Iksookimia longicorpa (Pisces, Cobitidae), in Relation to the Air-breathing System)

  • 왕종개 Iksookimia longicorpa의 공기호흡에 관한 호흡체계를 조사하기 위해 표피 (epidermis)와 소화관 (intestinal tract)를 관찰하였다. 표피는 작은 점액세포 (mucous cell)와 곤봉세포 (club cell)로 이루어진 두 종류의 선세포 (gland cell)을 가진다. 점액세포는 대부분 acid sulfomucin으로 구성되었으나 곤봉상세포는 점액물질에 대한 어떠한 반응도 보이지 않았다. 기저층에는 작은 림파구를 포함하는 lymphocytes가 존재하며, 다량의 모세혈관이 기저층 바로 아래부분에 존해하고 있다. 장( intestinal tract)은 거의 일직선형태이며, 크게 장(intestine)과 직장(rectum)으로 구성된다. 이러한 장은 점액층 (mucosa), 점막하층 (laminal propria-submucosa), 근육층 (musculary), 장막 (serosa) 층으로 구성되었다. 이러한 장은 짧은 fold와 얇은 벽으로 구성되었으며, 점막층은 acid sulfomucin의 점액을 가지고 있다. 공기호흡하는 어류들의 변형된 공기호흡 기관의 특징들과 비교해 볼 때 왕종개는 하천의 가뭄으로 인해 용존산소가 부족할 경우 장에서는 이루어지지않고 표피에서만 공기를 흡입하는 것으로 생각된다.

Many of the medical massage movements help lymphatic drainage. Essential oils have many different qualities; they can be relaxing or invigorating and are generally antisepic and antibacterial. Medical aromatherapy care can have psychological benefits. The power of essences in healing has been recognized in the treatment of insect bites. Clove, thyme, sandalwood, and lavender are a few of the essences that have antiseptic. Essential oils effect the dry skin for small visual pores, dull matte finish, rough sandy feeling, tantskin. Essential oils effect the mature/sun damaged skin for some red or couperose areas, loose saggy skin, exposure to a lot of ultraviolet light. Essential oils effect the medical care nomal skin good elasticity, healthy color(good circulation), smooth terture.

FDA 부작용 보고 시스템 데이터베이스를 이용한 Cyclosporine과 Tacrolimus의 주요 약물이상사례 및 실마리 정보 분석 (Analysis of Important Medical Adverse Events and Signals Related with Cyclosporine and Tacrolimus Using the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) Database)

  • Objective: This study aimed to analyze the important medical adverse events (IMEs) of cyclosporine and tacrolimus using the reports in US FDA adverse event reporting system (FAERS) and to detect related signals. Methods: The FAERS database was used to analyze the IMEs reported for cyclosporine or tacrolimus during 2017-2021. Reporting odds ratio (ROR) and information component were used to analyze signals for adverse events of both drugs. It was investigated whether the detected signals were present on drug labels in Korea and the United States. Results: Among the total 24,688 reports, the reports on tacrolimus accounted 75.8%. Mean age of the patients was 47.9 years old and median number of adverse events was 2.0 per report. The number of patients hospitalized for adverse events was 7,979 (25.3%). Among the adverse reactions reported on the cyclosporine and tacrolimus, 576 and 1,363 events were detected as signals for cyclosporine and tacrolimus, respectively, and of these, IMEs accounted for 44.8 and 59.2%, respectively. The IMEs related with infections/infestations, renal/urinary disorders, and blood and lymphatic system disorders were reported frequently for both drugs. The most frequently detected IMEs were renal impairment for cyclosporine and acute kidney injury for tacrolimus. Among the top 3 IMEs for each reported SOC for cyclosporine and tacrolimus, 9 and 2 unexpected adverse events were identified, respectively. Conclusion: This study identified the IMEs and signals of cyclosporine and tacrolimus, and detected unidentified adverse events in a drug information database.

OK-432를 사용한 소아 림프관종 치료효과 (Therapeutic Effect of OK-432 for Lymphangioma in Children)

  • Lymphangioma is a congenital malformation of the lymphatic system that expands into the surrounding tissues in a manner similar to a malignant tumor. Surgical excision has been the treatment of choice, but the results are often unsatisfactory due to incomplete resection, fluid collection and recurrences. Intralesional injection of OK-432(lyophilized incubation mixture of Group A Streptococcus pyogenes of human origin) was employed in treating 24 patients with lymphangiomas between 1992 and 1997. The method was used in 21 patients as a primary therapy, and in 3 patients for unresectable or recurrent cases as a secondary treatment. The results were excellent in 8 patients (33.3%), good in 7 patients (21.8 %) and poor in 7 patients (21.8 %). The side effects were fever under $39^{\circ}C$ and local inflammation. However these symptoms subsided in a few days without serious sequelae. These results suggest that intralesional injection of OK-432 is safe and effective treatment for primary lymphangioma as well as a secondary therapy for unresectable or recurrent cases.

Extraneural Metastasis of Glioblastoma Multiforme Presenting as an Unusual Neck Mass

  • Glioblastoma multiforme(GBM) is the most aggressive intracranial tumor and it commonly spreads by direct extension and infiltration into the adjacent brain tissue and along the white matter tract. The metastatic spread of GBM outside of the central nervous system (CNS) is rare. The possible mechanisms of extraneural metastasis of the GBM have been suggested. They include the lymphatic spread, the venous invasion and the direct invasion through dura and bone. We experienced a 46-year-old man who had extraneural metastasis of the G8M on his left neck. The patient was treated with surgery for 5 times, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. He had survived 6 years since first diagnosed. Although the exact mechanism of the extraneural metastasis is not well understood, this present case shows the possibility of extraneural metastasis of the G8M, especially in patients with long survival.

  • Food allergy is defined as an immunologically-mediated adverse reaction to food.The food allergy as a clinical entity has been recognized for many years, although there is yet no general consensus as to the incidence of this syndrome. One difficulty in studying food allergies has been the lock of a reasonable animal model in which reactions could be induced by orally administrating foods. It has been generally accepted that the initial target for an immediate reaction to food is the mast cells, within the gastronitestinal mucosa, and such cells are sensitize in vivo by food-specific immunoglobulin(Ig) E. Degranulation of these cells facilitates the entry of an antigenic epitope into the lymphatic system and blood stream, thereby causing further degranulation of the mast cells and basophils throughout the boy. Accordingly, the author attempted to develop an animal model that is indicative of evaluating IgE-mediated immediate hypersensitivity. It is also necessary to evaluate the effects of nutritional envioronments on dietary protein-dependent allergy and the regulatory mechanisms of dietary fats on IgE-mediated immune response. In this review, animal models to evaluate a food ingredient, effects of dietary fats and curcuminoids, milk whey protein hydrolysates on allergic reaction, and effect of dietary fat in splenic immune cells are presented.

왕종개 Iksookimia longicorpus (Pisces, Cobitidae) 피부 구조와 세포화학적 특징 (Structure and Cytochemistry of Skin in Spined Loach, Iksookimia longicorpus (Pisces, Cobitidae))

  • 왕종개 Iksookimia longicorpus 피부 및 피부샘 (skin gland)의 구조와 그들의 세포화학적 특징을 조사하기 위해 등, 측면, 복부, 머리부분 등 4부분을 조사하였다. 왕종개의 표피 (epidermis)는 작은 점액세포 (mucous cell)와 커다란 club cell의 2 type의 gland가 분포하였다. 특히 mucous cell의 성분은 acidic sulfomucins이었으나 club cell은 점액물질 (mucosubstance) test에 전혀 반응을 나타내지 않았다. 표피의 기저층 (stratum germinativum)에는 림파구를 가지는 lymphocytic space가 잘 발달되어 있으며, 기저막 (basement membrane) 바로 아래에는 많은 양의 모세혈관들이 서로 가깝게 분포하였다. 진피 (dermis)의 stratum laxum에는 alcian blue와 PAS 반응에서 양성반응을 보이는 부분 (a definite area)이 존재하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 군집 구간중도절단된 자료에서 생존시간이 군집의 크기에 의존할 때 주변모형으로부터 가중 추정 방법과 군집 내 재추출 방법을 써서 모수를 추정하고 그 추정량의 점근적 성질을 살펴보았다. 모의실험을 통해 추정량의 편향의 크기와 신뢰구간의 포함율 측면에서 볼 때 제안한 두 추정 방법이 생존시간과 군집의 크기 간의 종속 관계를 무시한 방법보다 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 제안한 추정 방법을 림프성 사상충 자료에 적용한 결과에 따르면 서로 다른 두 치료방법이 유의하게 다르지 않았으며 나이 효과도 매우 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다.

Picibanil을 이용한 림프관종의 치료 효과 (Picibanil Therapy for Lymphangioma)

  • Lymphangiomas are congenital malformations of the lymphatic system. Cervicofacial lymphangioma represents 75% of all lymphangiomas. Surgical excision has been the treatment of choice, however the reported results have been unsatisfactory. Various sclerosants have been tried to treat lymphangiomas, with variable results and considerable side effects. Herein we report the results of treatment using intralesional picibanil for lymphangioma. Between January 1996 and January 1998, 16 patients with lymphangiomas, 10 boys and 6 girls, were treated with intralesional picibanil injections. All cases were treated as a primary therapy. Eight lymphagiomas were located in the neck, and 2 in the cheek, 2 in the parotid, 2 in the trunk, 1 in the oropharynx, 1 in the thigh. Dose and method of intralesional injection was similar to that reported by Ogita in 1987. Complete regression was observed in 10 cases and marked regression(> 75% size decrease) in 2 cases and moderate regression(75%-25% size decrease) in 2 cases and poor regression(< 25% size decrease) in 2 cases. No serious side effect was observed except fever lasting for 2-3 days. Intralesional injection of picibanil for lymphangiomas represents a safe, easy and effective way of treatment with high success rate. Picibanil injection can be used as a primary therapy for lymphangiomas.

  • The skin of the eel goby, Odontamblyopus lacepedii, consists of epidermis, dermis and subcutis. The epidermis has three layers: the outermost layer, middle layer and stratum germinativum. The outermost layer is composed of polygonal cells or rather flattened cells, and mucous gland cells of acid mucopolysaccharides. The middle layer consists mainly of swollen small or voluminous epidermal cells and shows a web-shaped structure. The thickness of the epidermis depends on the various sizes and the number of layers of the swollen cells. Well-developed lymphatic spaces containing lymphocytes exist in the stratum germinativum and small scales are embedded in the dermis. A large number of blood capillaries are present just below the basement membrane, and a definite area giving AB and PAS positive was present between the basement membrane and scales, Taste buds ave distributed on surface of the epidermis at intervals. Considering the structural features of the skin, it may be considered that O. lacepedii is more likely to be related to cutaneous respiration as a dual respiratory system.
