The study uncovers that both social power and social capital are essential in influencing attitude and driving purchase behavior in the context of the luxury brand commerce, particularly for luxury brands. The study's results offer valuable insights for luxury brand managers, highlighting the importance of selecting influencers in the luxury brand commerce who not only own strong social power but also have cultivated considerable social capital. • The aim of this study was to analyze e-commerce sites of luxury fashion brands in order to provide insights on how to enhance online site quality. For the research, forty-eight components of thirty-one luxury fashion brands' e-commerce sites were investigated during October 2013. For the analysis of clustering e-commerce site components and segmenting e-commerce sites of luxury brands, a hierarchical cluster analysis was applied through using the Ward's method and squared Euclidian distance for binary data. Further, Fisher's exact test was applied in order to distinguish three groups of characteristics in the luxury e-commerce sites. These analyses were carried out by SPSS 21. The result indicated that the components of e-commerce sites were grouped into three categories: basic elements, additional elements and elements of building brand identity. These components were categorized by whether their functions were basic and essential or additional and advanced. The other norm of categorization was related to brand identity. Furthermore, the luxury brands' e-commerce sites were segmented into three groups: a group of endeavoring to promote goods, a group of undistinguished performance, and a group of endeavoring to intensify brand identity. In this segmentation, brand identity or promotional aspects were decisive. Overall, luxury brands were trying to convey their traditional strength through their e-commerce sites. In order to achieve this purpose, brand identity or promotional aspects played an important role.

  • This study examined: 1) the effects of fashion luxury product price discounts in social commerce on perceived benefit and purchase intention, and 2) differences in such effects by social commerce trust, brand and design preferences for luxury products as well as social commerce and online luxury product purchase experiences. Three discount rates representing high, mid, and low for a luxury product sold in social commerce were manipulated and tested on female consumers and 486 online responses were analyzed. The results revealed that the price discount affected perceived benefit but did not affect purchase intention. Benefits were highly perceived at high and mid discount rates compared to the low rate. Social commerce trust, brand preference, and design preference affected perceived benefit and purchase intention, but the interaction effect with price discount was observed only in the design preference to perceived benefit. The purchase experience of online luxury products also affected purchase intention. Implications from the results were also discussed.

  • This study aims to analyze the impact of negative review type, brand reputation and opportunity scarcity perception, on preferences of fashion products in social commerce. For the above evaluation, we used the 2 (negative review type: objective/subjective) ${\times}2$ (brand reputation: high/low) ${\times}2$ (opportunity scarcity perception: high/low) model, designed with three mixed elements. We enrolled 260 women in their 20s and 30s, who live in Seoul and have used social commerce; a final total of 207 subjects were considered for analysis. The data were analyzed using the SPSS 18 program and reliability test, t-test and three-way ANOVA were performed. Following observations were made: First, preferences were higher when the subjects read objective negative reviews than subjective negative reviews, and when a fashion product was from a brand of high reputation than a brand of low reputation. Second, the interaction effect between negative review type and brand reputation was greater among the subjects whose opportunity scarcity perception is high, than those having low opportunity scarcity perception. Thus, we conclude that the social commerce should encourage consumers to write more objective reviews, and fashion brands should manage their reputations well. Also, social commerce can use scarcity messages aggressively to increase preferences of global fashion luxury goods, which is actively marketed in social commerce since 2015.

  • Considering the rapid growth of mobile industry and the emerging application marketing, this study focused on fashion applications, which had not drawn much academic attention before, and analysed relevant content composition, information-seeking benefits based on users' lifestyles and resulting differences in satisfaction and loyalty. In short, fashion applications were divided into fashion and non-fashion brand apps. Brand apps were subdivided into luxury, women's wear, men's wear, casual wear, sportswear, accessories and the like. Non-brand apps included commerce, magazine, information, style tip, SNS and wardrobe manager types. As for users' lifestyle-based information search, the higher the tendency to search information on the internet and to favour reasonable consumption, the more basic information on products and brands they sought, whereas the higher the tendency to look for high-profile brands and to favour global culture, the more additional information like images or entertainments they sought. To sum up, given that studies on fashion-specific applications were rare, the present study reviewed and categorized current fashion applications, and suggested theoretical and practical groundwork for developing content based on target consumers' lifestyle and for planning fashion applications in practice.
