  • Ubiquitous sensor network is to manage and collect information autonomously by communicating user around device. Security requirements in Ubiquitous based on sensor network are as follows: a location of sensor, a restriction of performance by low electric power, communication by broadcasting, etc. We propose new mutual authentication protocol using a low power of sensor node. This protocol solved a low power problem by reducing calculation overload of sensor node using two steps, RM(Register Manager) and AM(Authentication Manager). Many operations performing the sensor node itself have a big overload in low power node. Our protocol reduces the operation number from sensor node. Also it is mutual authentication protocol in Ubiquitous network, which satisfies mutual authentication, session key establishment, user and device authentication, MITM attack, confidentiality, integrity, and is safe the security enemy with solving low electric power problem.

  • Recently, small-scale IoT services using a small amount of information through low-performance computing have been spread. It requires low cost, low-power, and long-distance communication technologies with wide communication radius, relatively low power consumption. This paper proposes a MAC layer and routing protocol that supports multi-hop transmission in small-scale IoT environment distributed over a large area based on LoRa communication and delivering a small amount of sensing data. The terminal node is mobile and the communication type provides bidirectional transmission between the terminal node and the network application server. By applying the proposed protocol, a production line monitoring system for smart factory was implemented. It was confirmed that the basic monitoring functions are normally performed.

  • Internet-of-Things (IoT) technologies are used everywhere, and communication is one of its core and essential aspect. To solve the networking and communication of small IoT terminals, in this paper, a communication scheme based on low-cost WiFi is proposed, which also has the advantages of good compatibility and low power consumption. At the same time, it has a convenient one-key configuration mode, which reduces the technical requirements for operators. In this study, a communication protocol is designed that mainly aims at up to dozens of domestic IoT terminals, in which the amount of data is not large, data exchange is not high, and network is unstable. According to the alarm data, update data, and equipment or network fault, the protocol can respectively transmit in real time, regularly and repeatedly. This protocol is open and easy to integrate, and after cooperating with tiny encryption algorithm, information can be safely transmitted.

  • In this paper, we propose the power-based pipelined-forwarding MAC protocol which can select relay nodes according to the residual power and energy harvesting rate in EH-WSN (energy-harvesting wireless sensor networks). The proposed MAC follows a pipelined-forwarding scheme in which nodes repeatedly sleep and wake up in an EH-WSN environment and data is continuously transmitted from a high-level node to a low-level node. The sleep interval is adaptively controlled so that nodes with low energy harvesting rate can be charged sufficiently, thereby minimizing the transmission delay and increasing the network lifetime. Simulation shows that the proposed MAC protocol improves the balance of residual power and network lifetime.

  • In the EH-WSN(Energy Harvesting Wireless Sensor Network), the routing protocol must consider the power condition of nodes such as residual power and energy harvesting rate. Many EH-WSN studies have emphasized the power aspect and make the urgency of sensed data less important. However, in applications such as environmental monitoring, stability and latency become more important issues than power efficiency for urgent data. In this paper, we designed a routing protocol that can set path according to data urgency. To this end, relay nodes are determined considering the urgency of date. Nodes with poor power do not participate in routing when normal data is generated, so that urgent data can be transmitted reliably with low latency. The performance of the proposed routing protocol is analyzed by computer simulation.

  • The MS card data transfer system using blue-tooth protocol ran communicate the MS card data wirelessly and does not take an extra communication expense which is a weakness point of existing wireless communication system. This Blue-tooth system, which has excellent security and no extra communication expense, can efficiently communicate data of the place ,where can be solved with small scale wireless network, such as the theme-park or gasoline-station. Existing wireless communication system compose network using wireless-LAN protocol which has extra communication expense, or with RF protocol which has poor security. But this system suitable for LAN because it has not extra communication expense and it has excellent security cause frequency-hopping of Blue-tooth protocol. The MS card data transfer system using blue-tooth protocol has low power, high performance RISC processor and large scale 16-gray graphic LCD which is suitable for portable unit. The MS card data transfer system can efficiently control depot for a long time because it has low power, excellent security and no extra communication expense.

  • Control network adopted in the national power-plant or manufactory are mostly vendor-dependent products, which have their own special specification, components and individual communication methods. These systems not only raise installation cost, but also bring many difficulties to maintenance and extension. To overcome these problems, this paper introduces a development and application case of a new "PC/Ethernet-based fieldbus" architecture and protocol to be used in mid-level fieldbus. The designed system has a basic idea of "3 Layers fieldbus over Standard-LAN" and implemented on PCs. PC gives user friendly environment. By using an open standard Ethernet in layer 1,2, the system has low cost, wide communication bandwidth and high compatibility. Layer 3 protocol designed for large realtime data communication makes user bypass TCP/IP layer and gives user direct access to the Ethernet. This new protocol eliminates potential collision of Ethernet, and transmits large periodic/non-periodic control data by using long-frame/wide-bandwidth of Ethernet effectively, and offers simple API-Services to the upper layer. Since the system have installed in H-power plant simulator and U-nuclear power plant simulator in Korea, it have been proved to be efficient and stable without any trouble in realtime communication service for full-scope plant simulator that has a lot of control elements.

  • The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) proposed IPv6 Routing Protocol for Low-power Lossy Network (RPL) as a routing protocol for Low Power and Lossy Networks (LLN). In RPL networks, only a few parent nodes are connected to many child nodes, which is called Thundering Herd Phenomenon. To solve this problem, it has been considered to limit the maximum number of child nodes connected per node using the CNC (Child Number Count) parameter. However, the problem remains that some parent nodes can be attached with as many as the maximum number of child nodes. How to determine the maximum CNC value is yet another problem. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an algorithm that evenly distributes the number of child nodes connected per node, to solve the Thundering Herd Phenomenon problem. The performance of the proposed algorithm is compared with that of the conventional RPL using CNC. As a result, we showed that the proposed algorithm performs better in terms of load balancing.
