Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are low calorific value gases (LCVG) emitted from chemical processes such as painting booth, dye works and drying processes etc. Characteristics of VOCs are low calorific values less than 150kcal/㎥, high activation energy for ignition and low energy output. These characteristics usually make combustion unstable and its treatment processes needs high-energy consumption. The cyclone combustion system is suitable for LCVG burning because it can recirculate energy through a high swirling flow to supply the activation energy for ignition, increases energy density In make a combustion temperature higher than usual swirl combustor and also increases mixing intensity. This research was conducted to develop optimized cyclone combustion system for thermal oxidation of VOCs. This research was executed to establish the effect of swirl number with respect to the combustion temperature and composition of exhausted gas in the specific combustor design.
To enhance the efficiency of dye sensitized solar cells, we proposed crystalline anatase-$TiO_{2}$ by using a low temperature process ($150^{\circ}C{\sim}250^{\circ}C$). We successfully fabricated 30 nm-$TiO_{2}$ at a fixed atomic layer deposition condition of 1.0 sec of TDMAT pulse, 20 sec of TDMAT purge, 0.5 sec of H$_{2}$O pulse, and 20 sec of H$_{2}$O purge. In order to examine the microstructure, phase, and band-gap of the TiO$_{2}$ respectively, we employed a Nano-Spec, transmission electron microscope, high resolution XRD, Auger electron spectroscopy, scanning probe microscope, and UV-VIS-NIR. We were able to fabricate a crystalline anatase-phase of 30 nm-TiO$_{2}$ successfully at temperatures above $180^{\circ}C$. Our results showed that our proposed low temperature ALD process (below $200^{\circ}C$) might be applicable to glass and flexible polymer substrates.
Background: Epidural neural blockade with local anesthetics combined with steroids has been in clinical trials for patients with low back pain. But pain treatment of low back pain remains somewhat problematic. Many patients with low back pain have epidural fibrosis and adhesions proved with magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) examination. These findings might play an important role in the origin of back pain. Present study was aims to investigate the effect of epidural adhesiolysis in patients with low back pain. Methods: We investigated 76 patients suspected with epidural fibrosis and adhesion was suspected. Nerve pathology was demonstrated and epidural fibrosis suspected or proved with MRI examination. 17G needle specially designed by Racz was inserted at sacral hiatus and catheter was inserted untill its tip was located at lesion site under fluoroscopic guidance. Injection of contrast dye was achieved and prospected spread of agents. Injection of 0.25% bupivacaine, triamcinolone, and 10% hypertonic saline via catheter were carried out daily for 3 days. Evaluation included assessment of pain relief (Numerical Rating Scale; NRS) post-epidural adhesiolysis 3 days, 1 week, and 3 months. We also looked for complication of epidural adhesiolysis. Results: Statistical analysis(Friedman nonparametric repeated measures test and Dune's multiple comparison test) demonstrated NRS was significantly less during 3 months after epidural adhesiolysis(P<0.05). Especially, there is a extremely significance in post-epidural adhesiolysis 3 days (P<0.001). Only four patients reported any complications the most common symptom among three persistent headache but disappeared after a few months without residual sequelae. Conclusion: We conclude epidural adhesiolysis is a safe and effective method of pain therapy for low back pain with proven lumbo-sacral fibrosis and adhesion. A direct visualization by epiduroscopy may be more useful to the resulting functional changes after epidural adhesiolysis.
For more esthetic treatments the use of composite in molar areas are increasing. But polymerzation shrinkage that cause marginal leakage and cuspal deflection has been the problems of composites. The purpose of this study is to compare the effect of low intensity curing and polishing period on marginal leakage. Cavities were prepared on the buccal or lingual surface of forty five sound extracted human teeth and etching, application of bonding agent and filling of composite was done. Group 1 was light cured at intensity of 600$mW/cm^2$ for 41 seconds and polished. Group 2 was light cured at intensity of 300$mW/cm^2$ for 2 seconds and polished and after polishing it was light cured for 40 seconds at 600$mW/cm^2$. Group 3 was light cured at intensity of 300$mW/cm^2$ for 2 seconds and waited for 5 minutes and after curing at 600$mW/cm^2$ for 40 seconds polishing was done. The specimens were thermocycled at $5^{\circ}C$ and $55^{\circ}C$ for 1000 cycles and immersed in 2% methylene blue solution for 24 hours. Composite-tooth interface was examined under stereobinocular microscope for dye penetration. The results were as follows : 1. Group which were cured at low intensity and polished after curing at high intensity showed less marginal leakage than group which were cured at high intensity for 41 seconds(p<0.05). 2. Marginal leakage between group which were cured at low intensity and polished immediately and group which were cured at high intensity for 41 second were not significantly different. Light curing at low intensity can reduce marginal leakage but polishing immediately after curing at low intensity for short time can affect marginal leakage.

This study was performed to evaluate possibility to reduce treatment time for child patient who have limited control activity during flowable composite resin restoration according to comparing microleakage and shear bond strength. Group I, II with Single $Bond^{TM}$, group III, IV with AQ Bond $Plus^{TM}$, group V, VI with Prompt L-$Pop^{TM}$, and group VII as control group without adhesive system. 12 premolars and 10 molars were assigned into each group. Restorative material was used the Filtek $Z350^{TM}$ flowable. The results were as follows; 1. The result of microleakage evaluation, in the group I, II with Single $Bond^{TM}$ showed low dye penetration score. Dye penetration between group I and group II were similar. 2. Results for shear bond strength at group I and group II showed values higher than other groups. (p<0.05) There were no statistical differences between group I and group II. (p>0.05) 3. There was no statistical differences among I and II, III and IV, V and VI groups. 4. Group VII showed significantly low shear bond strength than group I, II, V, VI(p<0.05). Group VII showed low value than group with III and IV, but no statistical significances. In conclusion, adhesive bonding resin was not affect significantly to microleakage and shear bond strength of flowable resin restoration. Therefore, to reduce the operation time, adhesive bonding resin and flowable composite resin can be cured at once. But contamination of saliva, location of cavities can affect to bond strength in clinical field.
Leakage studies have been performed frequently, since a fluid-tight seal provided by various dental fill-ing materials has been considered clinically important. The leakage of the various root-end filling materials has been widely investigated mostly dye penetration method. These dye studies cannot offer any information about the quality of the seal of a test material over a long period of time The purpose of this study was to evaluate the microleakage of root end cavities in blood contamination filed amalgam, intermediate restorative material(IRM), light cured glass ionomer cement(GI) and mineral trioxide aggregate(MTA) by means of a modified fluid transport model. Fifty standard human root sections, each 5mm high and with a central pulp lumen of 3mm in diameter, were and filled with our commonly used or potential root end fill ing materials after they were contaminated with blood. At 24h. 72h, 1, 2, 4, 8, and 12 weeks after filling, leakage along these filling materials was determined under a low pressure of 10KPa(0.1atm) using a fluid transport model. The results were as follows : 1 MTA group showed a tendency of decreasing percent of gross leakage (20m1/day) in process of time, whereas the other materials showed a tendency of increasing in the process time. 2. At the all time interval, GI group leaked significantly less than amalgam group and IRM group (p<0.05). 3. At the 4 weeks, the percentage of gross leakage in MTA group decreased to 0% thereafter, the low per-centage of gross leakage was maintained in MTA group until the end of the experiment, whereas the percentage in IRM group increased to 100% 4. At the 12 weeks, percentage of gross leakage was significantly low in MTA group(0%), comparison with GI group(40%), amalgam group(90%) and IRM group(100%), but there was no significant difference between latter two materials.

Dye sensitized solar cells(DSSCs) have been extensively studied due to their various advantages such as low production cost, colorful design, and eco-friendly process. Long optical path length is one of the most effective method to improve light harvest efficiency for DSSCs. Multi-layered $TiO_2$ nano-structured film with scattering layer has been studied to generate scattering effect by many researchers. It was expected that the difference of refractive index between $TiO_2$ particles and glass frit would generate the light scattering effect and provide the long optical path length. Therefore, to enhance the scattering effect, the frits of $Bi_2O_3-B_2O_3$-ZnO glass system that has the different refractive index were added to $TiO_2$ pastes in this study. First of all, the absorbance and haze factor of $TiO_2$ electrode with dyes and the refractive index of glass frit and $TiO_2$ were measured, respectively. To study the effect of frits, the efficiencies of DSSCs added glass frit and without glass frit were compared. Our results showed slightly higher efficiency with the different absorbance and haze factor of $TiO_2$ and glass frit. It was considered that the light scattering effect would be improved with adding frits to $TiO_2$ paste. Our preliminary studies will be useful for increasing efficiency of DSSCs.

In this work, a new type of DSCs based on nanoporous FTO structure is being developed for research aimed at low-cost high-efficiency solar cell application. The nanoporous FTO materials have been prepared through the sol-gel combustion method followed by thermal treatment at $450{\sim}850[^{\circ}C]$. The properties of the nanoporous FTO materials were investigated by IR spectra, BET and TEM analyses, and the photovoltaic performance of the prepared DSCs were examined. It can be seen from the result that the nanoporous FTO exhibited good transparent conductive properties, well suited for DSCs application.
The purpose of this study was to provide informations on what middle school students know and think about food additives, and their purchase behavior of processed foods containing food additives. The data were gathered by questionaries from 360 students attending in the 3 randomly selected middle schools around Gyeonggi Province. The valid 340 out of 360 questionaries were analysed by SPSS/WIN 12.0. As a result, the middle school students showed low interest in 4 kinds of representative food additives such as synthetic seasoning, artificial sweetener, artificial dye, and synthetic preservative. They thought that the food additives is necessary but not improve the quality of food, and may have harmful effects on health. The students who has mother of university graduate, and taught by text book A showed the highest interest. Most students rarely checked the indication of food additives on the processed food package, and they hardly put any effort to avoid the processed foods containing food additives. According to the results of this study, the students were not aware and did not know about the food additives enough, and needs to be educated more and in detail in home economics class.
A push-pull conjugated dye (DCMP) was covalently immobilized on a silanized glass surface to produce a high sensitivity pH sensor film for operating in the acidic region. A pH-sensitive sensor film was prepared by photo-initiating copolymerization of a modified DCMP (DCMA), 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) and triethylene glycol dimethacrylate on the silanized glass surface. The absorbance of the sensor film increased with increasing pH between pH 2.0 and 5.0, and the fluorescence intensity of the film also increased about 50 times with increasing pH in the same pH range. The sensor film was reversible and reproducible under acidic conditions. The sensor film showed a relatively short response time between 20-50 seconds and high selectivity for proton in the presence of various metal ions.
