서브 마이크로 구조를 가진 실리콘 표면의 마찰 특성 연구 (Study on Frictional Characteristics of Sub-micro Structured Silicon Surfaces)

  • The understanding of the friction characteristics of micro-textured surface is of great importance to enhance the tribological properties of nano- and micro-devices. We fabricate rectangular patterns with submicron-scale structures on a Si wafer surface with various pitches and heights by using a focused ion beam (FIB). In addition, we fabricate tilted rectangular patterns to identify the influence of the tilt angle ($45^{\circ}$ and $135^{\circ}$) on friction behaviour. We perform the friction test using lateral force microscopy (LFM) employing a colloidal probe. We fabricate the colloidal probe by attaching a $10{\pm}1-{\mu}m$-diameter borosilicate glass sphere to a tipless silicon cantilever by using a ultraviolet cure adhesive. The applied normal loads range between 200 nN and 1100 nN and the sliding speed was set to $12{\mu}m/s$. The test results show that the friction behavior varied depending on the pitch, height, and tilt angle of the microstructure. The friction forces were relatively lower for narrower and deeper pitches. The comparison of friction force between the sub-micro-structured surfaces and the original Si surface indicate an improvement of the friction property at a low load range. The current study provides a better understanding of the influence of pitch, height, and tilt angle of the microstructure on their tribological properties, enabling the design of sub-micro- and micro-structured Si surfaces to improve their mechanical durability.

산성환경 중에서 구상흑연주철재의 마멸-부식거동에 관한 연구 (The Study on the Wear-Corrosion Behavior of Ductile Cast Iron in the Acidic Environment)

  • This paper was studied on the wear-corrosion behavior of ductile cast iron in the acidic environment. In the dry atmosphere and variety of pH solution, wear-corrosion characteristics and friction coefficient of GCD 60 with various sliding speed and distance were investigated. And electrochemical polarization test of GCD 60 was examined in the environment of various pH value. The main results are as following : In the dry atmosphere, boundary friction appears below nearly 5 $kg_{f}$ of contact load, and it is considered that solid friction occurs over nearly 5 $kg_{f}$ of contact load. As pH value becomes low, wear-corrosion loss in the aqueous solution increases. As the corrosion environment is acidified, corrosion potential of GCD 60 becomes noble, polarization resistance becomes low, and corrosion current density increases.

PWM 제어되는 유압장치의 안정성 해석 (A Study Stability Analysis of a PWM Controlled Hydraulic Equipment)

  • PWM control is a kind of nonlinear control. The merits of PWM control of hydraulic equipment are the robustness of the high speed on-off valve and its low price. And it is easily implemented to hydraulic equipments with microcomputer. The high speed on-off valve is directly digitally controlled without any D/A converter. The objectives of this study is to analyze the limit cycle which regularly appear in the position control system using high speed on-off valve, and to give a criterion for the stability of this system. To do this, the nonlinear characteristics of PWM and cylinder friction of this system are described by harmonic linearization and the effects of parameter variations to the system stability are examined theoretically and experimentally. Consequently, the availability of the proposed method is confirmed well.

  • 로봇 시스템에 작용하는 마찰력은 비선형 형태이며 특히 저속에서의 정밀 제어를 어렵게 만든다. 본 논문에서는 로봇 연구에서 자주 활용되고 있는 벤치마크 로봇 시스템의 단축 모델에 대한 동적 마찰 보상 문제를 다룬다. 마찰 모델은 동적 특성 및 다양한 효과를 나타낼 수 있도록 비선형 동적 모델인 LuGre 모델을 고려한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 제어기는 두 부분으로 구성된다. 동적 마찰의 추정 및 보상을 위해 Dual 관측기 기반의 적응 제어기를 사용한다. 마찰 추정 오차 및 나머지 외란을 보상하기 위해 PI 관측기를 추가로 설계한다. 모의실험을 통해 비선형 동적 마찰이 벤치마크 로봇 시스템의 제어 성능에 미치는 영향을 확인하고 제안된 제어기를 사용함으로써 동적 마찰에 대한 제어 성능이 향상됨을 보인다.

초전도자기베어링을 이용한 플라이휠 에너지 저장장치의 진동특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Vibration Characteristics of Flywheel Energy Storage System Using Superconducting Magnetic Bearings)

  • The purpose of superconducting magnetic bearing flywheel energy storage system(SMB-FESS) is to store unused nighttime electricity as kinetic energy and convert it to electricity during daytime. The SMB-FESS is proposed as an efficient energy storage system because there is no mechanical problems, such as friction and wear The flywheel over SMB is rotated at a high speed, 50,000rpm. The major source of energy loss in the SMB-FESS is vibration of flywheel. Therefore, the vibration characteristics of SMB-FESS should be identified. In this study, the axial/radial stiffness and damping coefficient of SMB are measured by a vibration test. Natural frequencies and natural modes of flywheel and magnet are analyzed by a finite element method. The modal analysis of system is performed using the modal parameters of each component and the measured stiffness/damping coefficient. So, natural at frequencies and mode shapes of the joined system can be obtained. According to critical speed analysis, the system has two rigid conical modes in the low speed range. Nevertheless, the system has not been affected by the critical speed in the main operating range.

초음파진단 시 전파매질의 유용성 (Research on the Effectiveness of Diagnostic Ultrasound Transmission Media)

  • 초음파 전파 매개물은 초음파의 손실 없는 투과력을 위한 1차적인 목적 이외에 피부위에서 탐촉소자의 부드러운 이동을 위한 부가적인 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 진단용 초음파의 고분자 수화젤, 에멀전, 오일젤의 제형이 다른 초음파 전파매개물이 갖는 피부 윤활성, 피부 보습성, 건조속도 등의 초음파 매개물의 특징을 측정하여 이미 상용화 된 기성품과 비교하였다. 마찰계수는 고점도 에멀전에서 가장 높았으며 저점도 에멀전에서는 고분자 수화젤의 평균 마찰계수와 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다. 제제의 건조속도는 고분자 수화젤이 가장 높았으며 오일 함유량이 많을수록 수분증발이 나타나지 않았다. 피부수분함량에서는 저점도 에멀전이 높은 수분함량을 나타냈으며 수분함량 감소 정도가 가장 완만히 나타났다. 오일성분을 적절히 사용한 에멀전 형태의 초음파 전파매개물은 피부 보습효과, 피부 유연작용의 피부 건강측면과 피부-탐촉소자간의 피부 윤활성면에서 효과적인 제형임을 알 수 있었다.

수분(水分)첨가된 옥수수(Corn-Cob-Mix)의 펌프 운송(運送) 시(時)의 유체성질(流體性質) 구명(究明) (Flow Properties of Water Additive Corn-Cob-Mix for Handling by Pump)

  • The flow properties of water added com-cob-mix(CCM) were studied in order to provide basic information for designing its pumping system. For the study, a model system similar to actual situation was constructed. From the experiment, it can be concluded that the flow properties of the water added CCM has close relationship with its moisture content as follows; 1. The pressure drop caused by friction was very low when the moisture content of water added CCM was more than 70%. However, when the moisture content of the material is about 60%, the pressure drop increases up to 10 kPa/m at low pumping speed, and 20 kPa/m at high pumping speed, respectively. 2. The water added CCM having about 65% moisture content showed pseudo-plastic flow characteristics. 3. As the moisture content of the material decreases, the shear stress increases more rapidly than the shear rate does. Finally, below approximately 60% moisture, the shear stress becomes a linear relationship with the shear rate. 4. It was possible to pump the material having the moisture content down to 58% through a pipe having 80 mm diameter by a pump operating at 234 rpm. However, by either increasing the diameter of the pipe or decreasing the pumping speed, it can be possible to pump the material having lower moisture content than 55%.

고속전자밸브를 사용한 유압시스템의 안정성 해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Stability Analysis of Hydraulic System Using High Speed On-Off Valves)

  • This study describes the merits of PWM control of hydraulic system using high speed on-off valves. Generally, Electro-hydraulic valves can be classified into two classification: valves which are controlled by analog signal and which are controlled by digital. The former includes hydraulic servo valves and proportional valves which require A/D converters as interface to digital computer and too costly and sensitive to oil contamination because of complexity in structures. The latter includes high speed on-off valves which do not require A/D converters because they are normally operated in a pulse width modulation(PWM) method, and are low in price and robust to oil contamination because of their simple structures. The objectives of this study is to analyze the limit cycle which regularly appear in the position control system using 2/2way high speed on-off valves and to give a criterion for the stability of this system. The nonlinear characteristics of PWM and cylinder friction of this system are described by harmonic linearization and the effects of parameter variations to the system stability are simulated.

회전형 초음파모터의 소형 위상차 제어기 개발 (Development of Compact Phase-difference Controller for an Ultrasonic Rotary Motor)

  • In this paper, a uniform speed controller for an ultrasonic rotary motor is developed using the phase-difference method. The phase difference method uses traveling waves to drive the ultrasonic motor. The traveling waves are obtained by adding two standing waves that have a different phase to each other. A compact phase-difference driver system is designed and integrated by combining VCO(Voltage Controlled Oscillator) and phase shifter. Theoretically the relationship between the phase difference in time and the rotational speed of the ultrasonic motor is sine function, which is verified by experiments. Then a series of experiments under various loading conditions are conducted to characterize the motor's performance that is the relationship between the speed and torque. Proportional-integral control is adopted for the uniform speed control. The proportional control unit calculates the compensating phase-difference using the rotating speed which is measured by an encoder and fed back. Integral control is used to eliminate steady-state errors. Differential control for reducing overshoot is not used since the response of ultrasonic motor is prompt due to its low inertia and friction-driving characteristics. The developed controller demonstrates reasonable performance overcoming disturbing torque and the changes in material properties due to continuous usage.

곡선부 주행 차량의 마모특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Wear Characteristics of R/S Passing through Curves)

  • 곡선통과 새마을호 열차의 마모 특성을 평가하기 위하여 다량 편성 해석모델이 사용된다. 이 모델과 ADAMS/Rail를 사용하여 마모 특성과 관련된 변수의 변화에 따른 민감도 해석이 수행된다. 저속에서 우측 차륜의 마모도와 미끄럼도가 좌측 차륜보다 높으나, 고속의 경우는 좌측 차륜이 우측 차륜보다 높다. 곡선반경의 감소에 따라 마모도와 미끄럼도가 증가한다. 완화곡선의 길이가 증가하련 마모도와 미끄럼도가 증가한다. 또한 캔트가 증가하면 마모도와 미끄럼도가 증가한다.
