Forty-eight Pelibuey${\times}$Katahdin male intact lambs ($23.87{\pm}2.84$ kg) were used in an 84-d feeding trial, with six pens per treatment in a $2{\times}2$ factorial design arrangement. The aim of the study was to evaluate the interaction of two dietary energy levels (3.05 and 2.83 Mcal/kg ME) and two dietary protein levels (17.5% and 14.5%) on growth performance, dietary energetics and carcass traits. The dietary treatments used were: i) High protein-high energy (HP-HE); ii) High protein-low energy (HP-LE); iii) Low protein-high energy (LP-HE), and iv) Low protein-low energy (LP-LE). With a high-energy level, dry matter intake (DMI) values were 6.1% lower in the low-protein diets, while with low-energy, the DMI values did not differ between the dietary protein levels. Energy levels did not influence the final weight and average daily gain (ADG), but resulted in lower DMI values and higher gain efficiencies. No effects of protein level were detected on growth performance. The observed dietary net energy (NE) ratio and observed DMI were closer than expected in all treatments and were not affected by the different treatments. There was an interaction (p<0.03) between energy and protein level for kidney-pelvic and heart fat (KPH), KPH was higher in lambs fed high energy and high protein diet but not in high energy and low protein diet. The KPH was increased (20.2%, p = 0.01) in high-energy diets, while fat thickness was increased (21.7%, p = 0.02) in high-protein diets. Therefore, it is concluded that dietary energy levels play a more important role in feed efficiency than protein levels in finishing lambs with a high-energy diet (>2.80 Mcal/kg ME). Providing a level of protein above 14.5% does not improves growth-performance, dietary energetics or carcass dressing percentage.
This longitudinal quasi-experimental research was conducted to develop parent role education program and to evaluate the effect of this program for mother-infant interaction, childrearing environment and infant development. The subjects were the healthy infants weighing over 2,500gm at birth, whose gestational age was more than 37weeks, and their healthy mothers. The sample consisted of eighteen mother-infant dyads for intervention group and sixteen dyads for control group. Data were collected from March 15th in 1999 to Jun 20th in 2000. The intervention group received programmed education consisted of discharge education, telephone counselling, and home visiting care. But control group were collected data without programmed education. In this study, the Nursing Child Assessment Teaching Scale(NCATS) devised by Barnard was used to determine the mother-infant interaction, HOME was used to determine the childrearing environment, and Griffiths mental development scale was used to determine the infant development. The data were analyzed using SPSS Win using chi-square test, t-test, and repeated measure ANOVA. This study was focused on the results of twelve months time point. Summaries of the results were as follows: 1. There was no significant difference in mother-infant interaction(NCATS) between intervention group and control group. But both of two groups showed significantly higher in interaction score at twelve months than at six months in the subscales of social-emotional growth fostering, and responsiveness to caregiver. 2. There was no significant difference in childrearing environment(HOME) between two groups at twelve months. But when each subscale of HOME was examined, intervention group showed higher scores in the dimensions of maternal involvement with child(p=.001), and maternal emotional-verbal responsivity(p=.048). 3. There was no significant difference in GQ of the Griffiths mental development scale between two groups, although significant difference was found in performance subscale. 4. Infant development at twelve months showed significant correlation with mother-infant interaction and childrearing environment at six months, although mother-infant interaction and childrearing environment at twelve months did not show significant correlations with infant development at twelve months. 5. Developmental scores at six months showed significant correlations with variety in daily stimulation, and mother's emotional, verbal responsivity, whereas developmental scores at twelve months showed significant correlations with acceptance of child behavior at six months, and appropriate play material at twelve months. In conclusion, the maternal education program for primipara showed long term effect in some categories in organizing the childrearing environment, and fostering the infant development. We suggest further study and implications of parent role education program for high risk parents such as parents in low economic status or with premature babies.
This study purposed to examine the interaction effects of child care teachers' child care efficacy and burnout on their job turnover intention and occupational turnover intention. For this purpose, we conducted a questionnaire survey with 251 child care teachers. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, child care teachers' occupational turnover intention was stronger than their job turnover intention. Second, job turnover intention to another child care facility was affected by burnout, but occupational turnover intention to another job was affected by high burnout, low child care efficacy, and interaction between the two factors. With regard to the interaction effects, child care teachers with high burnout were found to control their occupational turnover intention through child care efficacy. Accordingly, in order to prevent child care teachers' job turnover and occupational turnover, it is necessary to develop strategies to reduce their burnout experienced in child care activities and enhance their child care efficacy.
Studies on the calculation of accident costs include the approach on calculating damage costs covering all accidents regardless of first or secondary party and the one calculating damage costs generated by a single victim. These two approaches have a limitation of considering a subject for costs analysis as a single entity. In addition, research on estimating the interaction effects caused in the relationship between diverse traffic accident features and factors remains inadequate since most studies focused on calculating costs incurred in a single entity such as a victim, damaged building, or social organization in charge of managing car accident. This study intends to identify the expected range of old age where a specific interaction effect would remain, compare accidents between old age section and the entire age section, and discover an exogenous variable to be applied in accident drop effects in senior people and reduced benefits by calculating and testing additional accident costs in case the first party and the second party all pertain to the senior age section. By classifying the entire accidents caused by old drivers according to the types of cars, significant coefficients representing the influence that affects car accidents according to the characteristics are calculated and set them as the representative variables by selecting top variable in accordance with from low to high order. Furthermore, characteristics on five age groups such as a group of over 65 and less than 70, a group of over 70 and less than 75, a group of over 75 and less than 80, a group of over 80 and less than 85, and a group of over 85 are elicited and compared them with these preselected accident characteristics variables, thereby identifying what changing effects come out.
Olfactory receptor protein ODR10 was expressed in E.coli as fusion protein with GST and His6 Tag. Crude membrane extract of the expressed protein was coated on the surface of quartz crystal microbalance, and the interaction of the ODR10 with several odorants was examined. Although the expression level was very low, quartz crystal microbalance showed that the expressed protein interacted most strongly with diacetyl (butanedione), which is known to bind to the ODR10 protein selectively. The interaction between ODR10 and diacetyl was $5{\sim}10$ times stronger than the interaction between ODR10 and other odorants. Thus, E. coli cells expressing the olfactory receptor protein could be used as an olfactory biosensor. Also, such system could be used to test which olfactory receptor reacts specifically with which odorant molecules, since there has been no cheap and convenient way to test the interaction of olfactory receptors and odorant molecules yet.

In this paper, an effective method to detect the laser pointer on the screen using the neural network algorithm for implementing the human-computer interaction system. The proposed neural network algorithm is used to train the patches without a laser pointer from the input camera images, the trained neural network then generates output values for an input patch from a camera image. If a small variation is perceived in the input camera image, amplify the small variations and detect the laser pointer spot in the camera image. The proposed system consists of a laser pointer, low-price web-camera and image processing program and has a detection capability of laser spot even if the background of computer monitor has a similar color with the laser pointer spot. Therefore, the proposed technique will be contributed to improve the performance of human-computer interaction system.

Even weak van der Waals (vdW) adhesion between two-dimensional solids may perturbtheir various materials properties owing to their low dimensionality. Although the electronic structure of graphene has been predicted to be modified by the vdW interaction with other materials, its optical characterization has not been successful. In this report, we demonstrate that Raman spectroscopy can be utilized to detect a few % decrease in the Fermi velocity ($v_F$) of graphene caused by the vdW interaction with underlying hexagonal boron nitride (hBN). Our study also establishes Raman spectroscopic analysis which enables separation of the effects by the vdW interaction from those by mechanical strain or extra charge carriers. The analysis reveals that spectral features of graphene on hBN are mainly affected by change in vF and mechanical strain, but not by charge doping unlike graphene supported on $SiO_2$ substrates. Graphene on hBN was also found to be less susceptible to thermally induced hole doping.

The purpose of this study is to analyze elementary school students' pre-concept of electromagnet and to investigate effects of instruction through social interactions on conceptual changes of the electromagnet. For the purpose, 108 elementary school students of 3 classes were selected from the 6th grade. They were divided into the control group I, control group II and experimental group. The control group I was treated through traditional instruction on the basis of text book. The control group II was instructed with a modified version of the textbook to help them better understand the concept of electromagnet. The experimental group was treated through instruction on the basis of the above modified version of the text book and social interactions. Conceptual changes on electromagnet before and after the treatment were quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed using the identical test. The students' styles of social interaction were qualitatively analyzed with tape records of their discussions and work sheets. Effects of instruction through social interactions based on radical constructivism on the 6th-grade elementary school students' concept of electromagnet were examined here. The results were described as follows. Firstly, after the treatment, the experimental group was statistically significantly higher in mean values of conceptual understanding and academic achievement than both the control group I and II. Secondly, styles of social interaction in the three sub-groups of the experimental group were qualitatively analyzed, among the threes, high- and medium-level sub-groups were higher in the frequency of linguistic social interaction than the low-level sub-group. Those students who were excellent in communication skills actively participated in linguistic social interactions. In discussions among the three sub-groups, students of the high- and medium-level sub-groups provided explanations or information while those of the other sub-group sometimes were passive by just listening, but in large actively participated in communication. In conclusion, instruction through social interactions was effectively changed in the 6th-grade elementary school students' concept of electromagnet.

IT convergence technology is gradually becoming anthropocentric and evolving based on the low-carbon green growth. Augmented reality technique is a contents convergence technology that can mix virtual objects while maintaining a sense of the real world. For that reason, interaction between user and system is possible, can make various applications, and has a high possibility for expandability. To expand the scope of existing interaction, this paper suggests contextual UX-based augmented reality system. It is a system which creates virtual objects that respond to the changes in the real world environment, and users can directly apply their personal preferences to virtual objects. Also, several virtual objects can be registered all at once, and even shows animations corresponding to either day and night according to the brightness of illumination. As said, it improves user's satisfaction through a system of mixed usability, and leads to a continuous use of augmented reality contents.

Numerical study was conducted to clarify effects of added $H_2O$ for the downstream interaction between $H_2$-air and CO-air premixed flames in counterflow configuration. The reaction mechanism adopted was Davis model which had been known to be well in agreement with reliable experimental data. The results showed that both lean and rich flammable limits were reduced in increase of strain rate. The most discernible difference between the two with and without having $H_2O$ and/or $H_2$ addition into $H_2$-air and CO-air premixtures was two flammable islands for the former and one island for the latter at high strain flame conditions. Even a small amount of $H_2$, in which $H_2$-air premixed flame cannot be sustained by itself, participates in CO oxidation, thereby altering the CO-oxidation reaction path from the main reaction route $CO+O_2{\rightarrow}CO_2+O$ with a very long chemical time in CO-air flame to the OH-related reaction routes including $CO+OH{\rightarrow}CO_2+H$ with very short chemical times. This intrinsic nature alters flame stability maps appreciably. The results also showed that chemical effects of added $H_2O$ help lean flames at relatively low strain rate be sustained, and suppress the flame stabilization at high strain rates.
