RE silicides 중 ytterbium silicide는 가장 낮은 electric work function을 갖고 있어 n-channel schottky barrier MOSFETs의 source/drain으로 주목받고 있다.
In past, dye diffusion and dyeing rate in fibers have been emphasized in dyeing phenomena. However, in the light of the properties of colloids in the surface of disperse phase and dispersion, there exist specific characters such as adsorption or electric double layer, which seems to play important roles in determining the physiochemical properties in the dyeing system. Electrostatic bonding, hydrogen bonding and Van der Waals adsorption are common in dyeing as well as covalent bonding. Particularly, electrostatic bonding is premised on the existance of ionic radicals in fibers. The present study was aimed to clarify the electrokinetic phenomena of dyeing through the role of electric double layer by ion in amphoteric fibers with different ionic effects under different pH. Spectrophotometric analysis method was used to compare dyeing condition of surface, which can be detected by electrokinetic phenomena and the inner of fibers after deceleration of dyed fibers. Nylon and wool, the typical amphoteric fibers were dyed with monoazo acid dyes such as C.I. Acid Orange 20, and C.I. Acid Orange 10. Various combinations were prepared by combining pH, temperature and dye concentration, in order to generate streaming electric potential which were measured by microvolt meter and specific conductivity meter. The results were transformed to zeta potential by Helmholtz-Smoluchowski formular and to surface electric charge density by Suzawa formular, surface dye amount, and effective surface area of fibers. The amount of dyes of inner fibers were also measured by the Lambert-Beer’s law. The main results obtained are as follows. 1. By measuring zeta pontential, it was possible to detect the dyeing mechanism, surface charge density, surface dye amount and effective surface area concerning dye adsorption of the amphoteric fibers. 2. Zeta pontential increases in negative at low pH and high dye concentration in the process of dyeing. This implied that there existed ionic bond formation in the dyeing mechanism between acid dyes and amphoteric fibers. 3. Dibasic acid dye had little changing rate in zeta potential due to the difference in solubility of dye and in number of dissociated ions per dye molecule to bond with amino radicals of amphoteric fibers. The dye adsorption of mono basic acid dye was higher than that of dibasic acid dye. 4. The effective surface areas concerning dyeing were $6.3E+05\;cm^2/g$ in nylon, $1.6E+07\;cm^2/g$ in wool fiber being higher order of wool then nylon.

The increasing interest in light weight materials coupled to the need for cost -effective processing have combined to create a significant opportunity for aluminum P/M. particularly in the automotive industry in order to reduce fuel emissions and improve fuel economy at affordable prices. Additional potential markets for Al PIM parts include hand tools. Where moving parts against gravity represents a challenge; and office machinery, where reciprocating forces are important. Aluminum PIM adds light weight, high compressibility. low sintering temperatures. easy machinability and good corrosion resistance to all advantages of conventional iron bm;ed P/rv1. Current commercial alloys are pre-mixed of either the AI-Si-Mg or AL-Cu-Mg-Si type and contain 1.5% ethylene bis-stearamide as an internal lubricant. The powder is compacted in closed dies at pressure of 200-500Mpa and sintered in nitrogen at temperatures between $580~630^{\circ}C$ in continuous muffle furnace. For some applications no further processing is required. although most applications require one or more secondary operations such as sizing and finishing. These sccondary operations improve the dimension. properties or appearance of the finished part. Aluminum is often considered difficult to sinter because of the presence of a stable surface oxide film. Removal of the oxide in iron and copper based is usually achieved through the use of reducing atmospheres. such as hydrogen or dissociated ammonia. In aluminum. this occurs in the solid st,lte through the partial reduction of the aluminum by magncsium to form spinel. This exposcs the underlying metal and facilitates sintering. It has recently been shown that < 0.2% Mg is all that is required. It is noteworthy that most aluminum pre-mixes contain at least 0.5% Mg. The sintering of aluminum alloys can be further enhanced by selective microalloying. Just 100ppm pf tin chnnges the liquid phase sintering kinetics of the 2xxx alloys to produce a tensile strength of 375Mpa. an increilse of nearly 20% over the unmodified alloy. The ductility is unnffected. A similar but different effect occurs by the addition of 100 ppm of Pb to 7xxx alloys. The lend changes the wetting characteristics of the sintering liquid which serves to increase the tensile strength to 440 Mpa. a 40% increase over unmodified aIloys. Current research is predominantly aimed at the development of metal matrix composites. which have a high specific modulus. good wear resistance and a tailorable coefficient of thermal expnnsion. By controlling particle clustering and by engineering the ceramic/matrix interface in order to enhance sintering. very attractive properties can be achicved in the ns-sintered state. I\t an ils-sintered density ilpproaching 99%. these new experimental alloys hnve a modulus of 130 Gpa and an ultimate tensile strength of 212 Mpa in the T4 temper. In contest. unreinforcecl aluminum has a modulus of just 70 Gpa.

The purpose of that was to investigate the potential of P. Herba extracts as phytonutrient active ingredients. In order to elucidate the P.Herba ethanol extracts were examined DPPH radical scavenging activity, NO production, protective effects against oxidative stress in HaCaT cells, anti-inflammatory activity, antimicrobial activity, anti-allergic effects, and inhibition of ${\beta}$-hexosaminidase expression. The antioxidative activity of the P. Herba extracts was compared, and the antioxidative activity of the ethanol extract was found to be superior. No significant cytotoxicity was observed in HaCaT, RAW 264.7, and RBL-2H3 cells. The protective effect of the extracts against oxidative stress induced by hydrogen peroxide ($H_2O_2$) was examined in HaCaT cells, and it was found to be 83% This concentration refers to which extract ethanol at $100{\mu}g/mL$. The anti-inflammatory activity of the extracts was examined in RAW 264.7 cells, and NO production was suppressed even at low concentrations. In addition, the concentration-dependent antimicrobial activities of the extracts were demonstrated in several bacterial strains, such as those of S.aureus, S.epidermidis and P. acnes. Based on the findings from this study, Portulacae Herba extracts could be used as physiological active substance that possess antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties.
Lithium salts are being used increasingly to treat patient with affective disorders, especially acute mania, or bipolar manic-depressive illness. For therapeutic effect the lithium content must be maintained at or above a particular level. Lithium poisoning due to overdosage may be seen occasionally, and its course is determined primarily by the rate of renal lithium elimination. A search is therefore indicated for procedures that could raise the lithium clearance. In a number of reports renal lithium excretion has been studied in relation to the excretion of water, sodium, potassium and hydrogen, but effects of sodium or water on the lithium excretion has not yet been clarified. Hence the present study was undertaken to investigate the effects of corticosteroid on the excretion of lithium ion. The female rat(Sprague-Dowley), weighing from 200 to 300g, was injected with 50mg/kg of lithium chloride intraperitoneally, and then injected with graded dosage of fludrocortisone and dexamethasone in each group. During the injected rats were incubated in metabolic cage, 24 hour urine of rats were collected. At 24 hours after injection, the rats were sacrificed with guillotin, the blood were collected. And then the concentratios of $Na^+$, $K^+$, $Li^+$ of collected urine and serum were checked by Flame photometer. The results are summarized as follows; 1. Fludrocortisone decreased the serum concentration of lithium and increased the urinary excretion of lithium. 2. In the group treated with low dose of dexamethasone(0.1mg/kg), the serum concentration of lithium was decreased and high dose of dexamethasone (1mg/kg) increased the urinary excretion of lithium. 3. Fludrocortisone increased the urinary $[Na^+]/[K^+]$ in serum and decreased $[Na^+]/[K^+]$ in urine, but opposite effects were occurred in dexamethasone. By above results, it may be concluded that corticosteroid increased the urinary excretion of lithium and decreased the serum concentration of lithium, but it seems to be there is no relationship between these effects of corticosteroid and of the renal $Na^+$ or $K^+$ transport.

A newly isolated Citrobacter sp. Y19 catalyzes the CO-dependent $H_2$ production (biological water-gas shift reaction) by the actions of CO dehydrogenase (CODH) and hydrogenase. Y 19 requires $O_2$ for fast growth, but its $H_2$ production activity is significantly inhibited by $O_2$. In the present study, the effect of $O_2$ on the activities of CODH ard hydrogenase was investigated quantitatively in both whole cells and broken cells, based on CO-dependent or methyl viologen (MV)-dependent $H_2$ production in addition to CO-dependent MV reduction. In crude cell extracts, CODH activity was mostly found in the soluble fraction. Inactivation of CODH and hydrogenase activities by $O_2$ followed the first-order decay kinetics, and the dependence of the rate constants on $O_2$ partial pressure could be expressed by the Michaelis-Menten equation. In whole cells, the maximum deactivation rate constants ($k_{d,max}$ of hydrogenase and CODH were quite similar: $0.07{\pm}0.03 min^{-1}\;and\;0.10{\pm}0.04 min^{-1}$, respectively. However, the first-order rate constant ($k_{d,max}/K_s$) of CODH ($0.25\;min^{-1}\;atm^{-1}$) at low $O_2$ partial pressures was about 3-fold higher than that of the hydrogenase, since the half-saturation constant ($K_s$) of CODH was about half of that of hydrogenase. In broken cells, both enzymes became significantly more sensitive to $O_2$ compared to the unbroken cells, while $k_{d,max}/K_s$ increased 37-fold for hydrogenase and 6.7-fold for CODH. When whole cells were incubated under anaerobic conditions after being exposed to air for 1 h, hydrogenase activity was recovered more than 90% in 2 h suggesting that the deactivation of hydrogenase by $O_2$ was reversible. On the contrary, CODH activity was not recovered once deactivated by $O_2$ and the only way to recover the activity was to synthesize new CODH. This study indicates that $O_2$ sensitivity of $H_2$ production activity of Citrobacter sp. Y19 is an important drawback as in other $H_2-producing$ bactria.

From 2016, controls on reduction of NOx and SOx emissions from the vessels that are operated in the emission control area were tightened. The selectivity catalytic reduction system of the denitrification equipment which NOx among the above controlled materials is very effective and used commercially very much. But it has the disadvantage that CSR is activated at high temperatures. Therefore, the SCR and SCR activation instrument that can react even at low temperatures by using micro-nano bubbles so that the above problems can be minimized were developed. And the computational fluid dynamics technique was used by ANSYS-CFX package to prepare the plan that improves the SCR system's efficiency. Simulation for the viscous flow analysis of the SCR system was executed by applying the Navier-Stokes equation to it as a governing equation. For the SCR system's shape, 3D modeling was done by using CATIA V5. SCR jet nozzle's position was checked by changing it to the intervals of 1/3, 1/2, and 2/3 from the inlet of the vent pipe to compare the SCR system's efficiency. And the number of nozzles was compared and analyzed by simulating 4, 6, and 8 holes to check an effect of the number on the SCR system's efficiency. The simulation result has found that the closer nozzles are to the inlet of the vent pipe and the more nozzles are, the more efficiency is improved.
Aluminum alloy was examined as a material of low weight reactor for hydrolysis of $NaBH_4$. Aluminum is dissolved with alkali, but there is NaOH as a stabilizer in $NaBH_4$ solution. To decrease corrosion rate of aluminum, decrease NaOH concentration and this result in loss of $NaBH_4$ during storage of $NaBH_4$ solution. Therefore stability of $NaBH_4$ and corrosion of aluminum should be considered in determining the optimum NaOH concentration. $NaBH_4$ stability and corrosion rate of aluminum were measured by hydrogen evolution rate. $NaBH_4$ stability was tested at $20{\sim}50^{\circ}C$ and aluminum corrosion was measured at $60{\sim}90^{\circ}C$. The optimum concentration of NaOH was 0.3 wt%, considering both $NaBH_4$ stability and aluminun corrosion. $NaBH_4$ hydrolysis reaction continued 200min in aluminum No 6061 alloy reactor with 0.3 wt% NaOH at $80{\sim}90^{\circ}C$.

In this study, the physico chemical characteristic of MSW and sludge in west area of Kangwondo was investigated for database, managing the waste and waste treatment facility. The sampling sites were selected as 6 different MSW generation area and 2 sludge generation area. it is necessary to measure the characteristics of MSW to build the data-base. The year of 2000, 197.4ton/day of MSW which was generated in this area. This MSW was composed of 26.6% food wastes, 24.2% of papers, 22.8% of plastics & vinyls, 9.6% of textiles, 3.80% of wood, 2.8% of rubbers & leathers and others, respectively. Most of MSW are composed of food, paper and plastic waste and combustible waste is more than 89%. The generation of papers and vinyls are almost same for different seasons For 3-components of MSW, moisture is 40.2%, combustible component is 52.1% and ash is 7.7% and for 3-components of sludge, moisture is 83.3%, combustible component is 7.7% and ash is 9%. The chemical element has the high order of carbon(51.6%), oxygen(38.6%), hydrogen(7%) on the dry basis of wastes. And the high heating value of MSW is 4989.4 Kcal/kg sludge is 4428.04 Kcal/kg and low heating value of the MSW which is measured by calorimeter is 2032.88kcal/kg. From the leaching test of wastes, there is no heavy metals.
Lignite of low rank coal and petroleum coke of high sulfur content can be high potential energy sources for coal gasification process because of their plentiful supply. The steam gasification of lignite, anthracite, and pet coke has been carried out in both an atmospheric thermobalance reactor and a lab-scale fludized bed reactor (0.02 m i.d. ${\times}$ 0.6 m height). The effects of gasification temperature ($600{\sim}900^{\circ}C$) and partial pressure of steam (0.15~0.95 atm) on the gasification rate and on the heating value of product gas have been investigated. The modified volumetric reaction model was applied to the experimental data to describe the behavior of carbon conversion, and to evaluate kinetic parameters of char gasification. The results shows that higher temperature bring more hydrogen in the product syngas, and thus increased gas heating value. The feed rate of steam is needed to be optimized because an excess steam input would lower the gasification temperature which results in a degradation of fuel quality. The rank of calorific value of the product gas was anthracite > lignite > pet coke. Their obtained calorific value at $900^{\circ}C$ with 95% steam feed were 10.0 > 6.9 > 5.7 $MJ/m^3$. This study indicates that lignite and pet coke has a potential in fuel gas production.
