A maglev vehicle of middle-low speed subjected to both a lift force and a guidance force by a U-shaped single electromagnet is operated over a curved guideway without a guidance controller. Therefore, it is required to carefully decide the curve shape for preventing contact between the vehicle and the guiderail for the case that a Maglev vehicle is operated over a curved guideway with a small radius. Specifically, the shape of the transition curve is very important from the stability viewpoint. This study analyzes the influence of curve shape on maglev stability through parametric composition of the transition curve during vehicle guidance. To this end, a multibody dynamics-based threedimensional Maglev vehicle model was developed. The model was integrated with the vehicle, curved guideway, electromagnets, and their controllers. Using this model, a realistic parametric study including the curved guideway was carried out. The results of research should be considered usefully in the design of bogies and the curve shape.
Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) needs autonomous flight capability to accomplish various mission objectives. For this objective, the autopilot is a key element in the UAV system design. The principal goal of autopilot is to guide the aircraft under varying external disturbances throughout the mission phases. The external disturbances include gravity effect, wind gust, and other unexpected obstacles. The gust affects the aircraft flight performance to a significant extent. UAV's low speed, light weight, and the absence of human judgment makes un predictable gust more dangerous. Autopilot design in general takes the gust effect into account to satisfy flight performance requirement. In this study..
In this paper, to present a new ignition control system for improvement the fuel economy. An actual hardware was made to prove that new control system, which only some of cylinder using under the idle status or low speed preserving the engine rpm, is applicable to effec fuel economy.
Lane detection is a key function in developing autonomous vehicle technology. In this paper, we propose a lane marker detection algorithm robust to environmental variation targeting low cost embedded computing devices. The proposed algorithm consists of two phases: initialization phase which is slow but has relatively higher accuracy; and the tracking phase which is fast and has the reliable performance in a limited condition. The initialization phase detects lane markers using a set of filters utilizing the various features of lane markers. The tracking phase uses Kalman filter to accelerate the lane marker detection processing. In a tracking phase, we measure the reliability of the detection results and switch it to initialization phase if the confidence level becomes below a threshold. By combining the initialization and tracking phases we achieved high accuracy and acceptable computing speed even under a low cost computing resources in which we cannot use the computing intensive algorithm such as deep learning approach. Experimental results show that the detection accuracy is about 95% on average and the processing speed is about 20 frames per second with Raspberry Pi 3 which is low cost device.
In this paper, the WAVE technology for IT based on Intelligent Transport System(ITS) which using by IEEE 802.11a PHY, IEEE 802.11p MAC(Medium Access Control) and IEEE P1609.3 was implemented. The WAVE system was designed that has maximum 0.5km communication range for RSU(Road Side Equipment) between vehicle, 12Mbps transfer speed when downlink at maximum 120km/h vehicle speed. To verify suitableness of the WAVE system for ITS, we measured several parameters on the real road: communication range when low and high speed, link establishment time, data transfer speed, PER (Percent Error Rate), and latency. From the experiment results, we demonstrated that WAVE is a suitable technology for IT based on ITS.
The electric vehicle market is developing rapidly around the world. Also, parts of electric vehicles require precision. In order to produce high-precision motor cores,Press equipment must also have good precision. Drive motor cores are an important technology for electric vehicles. It uses a large high-speed press to mass-produce drive motor cores. Because it's a large high-speed press, there are many reasons why the precision is not good. One of the causes is vibration and noise. Recently, as environmental demands have become stricter, regulations on noise and vibration have been strengthened. It is important for press machines to reduce vibration first for sound insulation and dust proofing. This is because the "breakthrough" phenomenon occurs in the press. Dynamic precision is the precision under the load of the press, Design considering strain and stiffness shall be made. Vibration and noise may occur due to SPM of high-speed press,And vibration and noise can cause structural deformation of the press. Structural deformation of the press can affect the precision of the product.Noise and vibration also cause problems for workers and work environments. Problems with vibration and noise occur during press processing, and vibration and noise lead to damage to the mold or defects in the product. Reliability in high-quality technology must be secured with low noise and low vibration during press processing. Modular shape and deformation energy effects were analyzed through finite element analysis. In this study, a study on vibration and noise countermeasures was conducted through finite element analysis of a large high-speed press.

PM synchronous motor may be rotated to an arbitrary direction and speed by outside wind under natural condition in cases where the fan is applied outside, such as in vehicle radiators and outdoor air-conditioners. Sensorless controls that cannot detect rotor position requires additional sensorless control algorithm because a rotor is rotated by an external load. In this study, the sensorless control of a PM synchronous motor under naturally rotating condition is proposed. The natural rotation conditions are classified as forward high-speed rotation, reverse high-speed rotation, and low-speed rotation. Experiment results verify the performance of the sensorless control, including the rotor speed and position detection at natural rotation mode and switch to the closed-loop sensorless control.
The Korean high-speed rail (HSR) began its commercial service in 2004. This service has been created significant changes in the system of intercity passenger travels of Korea. However, the actual ridership was approximately half of the estimated one in the planning stage. In this background, this paper presents the difference between the stated preference (SP) before the HSR service and the revealed preference (RP) after it using the intercity travel mode choice models. Several meaningful differences are found in terms of the factors affecting the travel mode choice, the estimation results of model, the monetary values of time, and elasticities. While the access/egress travel time of high-speed rail is less important than in-vehicle travel time in the SP sample, they have same weight in the RP sample. Also the RP models show that the probability of choosing HSR can be decreased by the increase of the number of vehicles in household contrary to the results from the SP models. The monetary values of travel time are relatively high and the direct and cross elasticities in response to changes in level-of-service of HSR are relatively low in the RP sample. This Korean case is expected to offer referable material for preparing high-speed rail services in other countries by showing the difference between the SP and RP before/after the actual service, identifying the importance of access/egress travel time and lower direct elasticities of HSR demand.

The Road Management Administration is cracking down on overloaded vehicles by installing low-speed or high-speed WIMs at toll gates and main lines on expressways. However, in recent years, the act of intelligently evading the overloaded-vehicle control system of the Road Management Administration by illegally manipulating the variable axle of an overloaded truck is increasing. In this manipulation, when entering the overloaded-vehicle checkpoint, all axles of the vehicle are lowered to pass normally, and when driving on the main road, the variable axle of the vehicle is illegally lifted with the axle load exceeding 10 tons alarmingly. Therefore, this study developed a technology to detect the state of the variable axle of a truck driving on the road using roadside camera images. In particular, this technology formed the basis for cracking down on overloaded vehicles by lifting the variable axle after entering the checkpoint and linking the vehicle with the account information of the checkpoint. Fundamentally, in this study, the tires of the vehicle were recognized using the Mask RCNN algorithm, the recognized tires were virtually arranged before and after the checkpoint, and the height difference of the vehicle was measured from the arrangement to determine whether the variable axle was lifted after the vehicle left the checkpoint.
Vehicle steering system determines the direction of a vehicle. A manual steering system consists of mechanical connections between the steering wheel and tires. Recent power steering system adds an actuator to help a driver to steer easily at low speed. However, at front collision, the driver can be injured by steering shaft and the power steering pump decreases the engine power. To solve these problems, electronic power steering system which connects the steering wheel and tires with electronic connection is proposed, that has advantages such as decrease of engine load and increase of driver safety reactive. Since the ratio between driver's steering torque and steering torque of tires can be controlled freely, the torque which is delivered from the road to the driver through tires and steering wheel can be reshaped to make the driver feel comfortable. In this paper, the ratio of delivering steering torque and the magnitude of force to be delivered from road to driver has been controlled using fuzzy controller, and it's effectiveness has been shown through simulation results.
