  • 최근에 무선통신망을 이용한 데이터 서비스가 폭넓게 제공되면서, 이동체(MS:mobile station)에 대한 위치정보나 교통상황 둥의 부가 정보 서비스가 제공되고 있다. 이와 같이 이동체가 자동차와 같은 운행수단일 때 사용자가 디스플레이 되는 문자정보를 확인하게 되면 운전의 안정성이 저하되어 실용적이지 못하다. 이를 위해서 문자를 음성으로 전환하여 주는 문자-음성변환기(text to speech : TTS)가 필요하다. 본 논문은 car navigation용 '한국어 무제한 어휘 음성합성기' 를 저가의 DSP chip(ADSP-2185)과 저용량의 4M bits ROM을 사용하여 low-cost system으로 하드웨어를 구성하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 실시간 한국어 음성 합성기는 저가의 통신 단말기로서 사용 될 수 있으나, 반음절 연결부분의 연결이 불완전한 경우가 많았다. 그러나 종성이 없는 음절에 대해서는 명료도가 비교적 우수하였다.

  • An improved MPPT converter with current compensation method for small-scaled PV-applications is presented in this paper. The proposed method implements maximum power point tracking (MPPT) by variable reference current which is continuously changed during one sampling period. Therefore, the power transferred to the load is increased above $9\%$ by the proposed MPPT converter with current compensation method. As a result, the utilization efficiency of Photovoltaic (PV)-panel can be increased. In addition, as it doesn't use digital signal processor (DSP), this MPPT method has the merits of both a cost efficiency and a simple control circuit design. Therefore, it is considered that the proposed MPPT method is proper to low power, low cost PV-applications. The concept and control principles of the proposed MPPT method are explained in detail and its validity of the proposed method is verified through several simulated results.

  • This paper is concerned with the digital implementation of the active vibration suppression controller. The digital controllers are often implemented on the DSP board, which is very fast but expensive. There are many low-cost micro-controllers in the market but the feasibility of such micro-controllers for the active vibration suppression has never been conducted. In this study, we selected PIC 16F877 as a proper micro-controller for the digital implementation of the PPF controller. The circuit diagrams are explained in detail. Experimental results show that the low-cost micro-controller can be used as the active vibration controller.

  • According to increase of nonlinear power electronics equipment, active power filters have been researched and developed for many years to compensate harmonic disturbances and reactive power. However the commercial of active power filter is being proceeded slowly, because the cost of active power filter compared to the passive filter for harmonic and reactive power compensation is expensive. Especially, the use of DSP (Digital Signal Processing) chip, which is frequently used to control 3-phase active power filter, is a factor of increasing the cost of active power filters. On the other hand, the use of only analog controller makes the controller's circuits much more complicate and depreciates the flexibilities of controller. In this paper, a controller with low cost for 5[kVA] 3-phase active power filter system is designed. To reduce the expense of active filter system, the presented controller is composed of digital control part using Intel 80C196KC $\mu$P and analog control part using hysteresis controller for current control. Characteristic analysis of designed controller for active filter system is performed by computer simulation and compensating characteristics of the designed controller are verified by experiment.tegy can apply to the vector control, leading to better output torque capability in the ac motor drive system. This strategy is that in the overmodulation range, the d-axis output current is given a priority to regulate the flux well, instead the q-axis output curent is sacrificed. Therefore, the vector control even in the overmodulation PWM operation can be achieved well. For this purpose, the d-axis output voltage of a current controller to control the flux is conserved. the q-axis output voltage to control the torque is controlled to place the reference voltage vector on the hexagon boundary in case of the overmodulation. The validity of the proposed overall scheme is confirmed by simulation and experiments for a 22[kW] induction motor drive system.

  • A new class of electronically commutated brushless motor, the flux-switching motor(FSM) is gradually emerging in power tools and household appliances especially fan and pump application because of green policy. This motor offers advantages of high-power density and relatively high efficiency compare with induction motor, low cost and simple motor structure compare with bldc motor. This paper presents the principle of the FSM and design of the 12/6 pole FSM drive system for fan application. Finally, test results of the prototype motor are provided to verify a validity of the fan application with TMS320F2812 DSP and inverter.

  • This paper is about the compensation of phase angle error and amplitude difference in stationary 2 pole coordinates by the installation variation of sensor at low cost high resolution digital hybrid encoder. To solve the problem of amplitude difference at the existing hybrid encoder, we normalized the relative magnitude of the two analog signals. and also to solve the problem of installation variation when installed the sensor, we rotate the stationary 2 pole coordinates to compensate the location error of sensor. and we used and tested the QEP function and A/D port in DSP(TMS320F2812) to verify the mentioned proposed method.

  • In this paper, we developed a low-area and low-cost SIMD MAC/MAS(Single Instruction Multiple Data Multiply and ACcumulate/Multiply And Subtract) for multimedia that is used much in real life. We compared the result of this research with a previously developed more large and high performance SIMD MAC/MAS. This paper is consist of 5 parts, which are an introduction, the contents of designing SIMD MAC/MAS hardware, a special qualities for previous works, the result of synthesis and conclusion. The design result reduced by size 32% of whole hardware than 64 bit SIMD MAC/MAS block of designed for high performance. This improved ISA (Instruction Set Architecture) to be suitable to embedded DSP(Digital Signal Processor), and shortened bit range of 64-bit data to 32-bit and implement more optimally.

  • The interferometric fiber optic gyroscopes (FOGs) are well known as sensors of rotation, which are based on Sagnac effect, and have been under development for a number of years to meet a wide range of performance requirements. This paper describes the development of open-loop FOG and digital signal processing techniques implemented on FPGA. Our primary goal was to obtain intermediate accuracy (pointing grade) with a good bias stability ($0.22^{\circ}/hr$) and scale factor stability, extremely low angle random walk ($0.07^{\circ}/\sqrt{hr}$) and significant cost savings by using a single mode fiber. A secondary goal is to design all digital FOG signal processing algorithms with which the SNR at the digital demodulator output is enhanced substantially due to processing gain. The CIC type of decimation block only requires adders and shift registers, low cost processors which has low computing power still can used in this all digital FOG processor.

  • In this paper, implementation process of standard platform for T-DMB Receiver in low-cost and small-size are following: First, implement SoC for 32 bit RISC CPU and 16 bit DSP, Hardware H.264 CODEC, Post Processor or Video Display, Audio Processor, I/O Device. Second, implement Real Time OS for flexible application. Third, propose simple architecture for interface with peripheral devices using one-chip processor.
