  • It has been known that ring current particles can be lost through dayside MP(magnetopause). However, details of the loss mechanism of this process has not received much attention. In this study, we show that the solar wind dynamic pressure P$\sub$D/ can play a significant role in the dayside loss. In order to show that, we have first conducted superposed epoch analysis using 95 geomagnetic storm events selected from the period 1997 to 2002. (omitted)

  • Many traditional architectures of Korea were lost due to fire accident caused by various reasons. It has been reported that faulty electric facility is the major cause of fire. Protecting and preserving the traditional architectures under current management system and electric facility regulation are difficult. Therefore establishing early stage fire extinguishment process and management system is urgent as well as eliminating the cause of fire.

  • The first design elements of horizontal alignment are very important things for improvement or movement in Railway. When the design elements are lost or damaged, it is necessary to recalculation. In this paper, an investigation is made on the method of representation of horizontal alignment as a result of design element using GPS method. The results show that northing calculated about $2\~10$ meters and easting calculated about $0\~7$ meters between calculated and design data in center points.

  • Some properties of xylanase produced by Pleurotus ostreatus during its gorwth in a rice straw medium were investigated. The results are summarized as follows : 1) The optimum pH of xylanase was 5.0 and the stable pH ranged from 4.5 to 6.0. 2) The optimum temperature for the xylanse was around $50^{\circ}C$ and the xylanse activity was completely lost in 10 minutes at $70^{\circ}C$ 3) The activity of xylanse was inhibited by managanous ion, but was increased by other metalic ions. Especially K, Mg and Ca ions considerably increased the activity.

  • Navigation is a science of directing a mobile robot as traversing the environment. The purpose of navigation is to reach a destination without getting lost or crashing into any obstacles. In this paper, we use a genetic algorithm for navigation. Genetic algorithm searches for path in the entire, continuous free space and unifies global path planning and local path planning. It is the efficient and effective method when compared with navigators using traditional approaches.

  • Objective of this study is to understand the diagonal reinforcement around openings on the control of diagonal crack, load distribution, and ultimate strength of reinforced concrete two-span continuous deep beams. Test results of four specimens showed that the strength lost by openings might be completed when diagonal reinforcement ratio was above 0.0014.
